  1. i live in anderson, sc. weather is pretty stable, hot humid summers, usually pretty dry. winters can be cold to mild as well, its in the 50-low 60's today. freezing rain is about the biggest inclimate weather we have, hurricanes dont reach but the severe weather as far as thunderstomes go can be a little rough, usually we only get the rain bands. police, state likes to hide on the highways but you get that everywhere, its the local boys in blue that take the biggest advantage of speed zones. sales tax in my county is 7%, property taxes vary according to the school district. dont really know about cost of living and insurance tho.
  2. had a friend in high school, hers got in a wreck. afterwards you could turn the swtich without the key in it and it would start up... needless to say her insurance company was not thrilled with that side effect.
  3. i wonder if those tables come in black... black is trendy.
  4. hmmm must be in the same family as a guy that works at a local mexican resturant in my town... picture if you will a 1985 ish buick riviera... tan like yours with a tan vinyl padded roof and a huge aluminum pep boys wing on the back right at the level of the roof... words cant do it justice.
  5. hear hear... err here and there in this case
  6. that blue van got crazy air, im sure this is the job that has the longest wait to be promoted to over there. the only job i could think that would be better than that is
  7. i remember seeing that on the history channel, they were doing a show on bunkers and crashed an old f4 phantom throught the wall... pretty intense went something like this
  8. unfortunately those volcanos have strenght in numbers, my 6ht grade science project i built a wind tunnel to demonstrate aerodynamics... it went swimingly until the blower fan seized up in the middle of the presentation. you win this round baking soda and vinegar...
  9. its everything the ssr should have been but couldnt. kinda high in the back to me but its going to be a gotta have thing for sure. the interior is quite impressive, really like drivers view
  10. lets not forget that they didnt promise the GTO for long anyway. the monaro was getting the axe so thats why it got "canceled" the only way it "failed" was sales volume, until they started marketing them in the 25 range where it belonged that is. still wish i could have got an 06.
  11. simple solution, said people need to go to this exotic thing called a "car show". from what i understand about these events, they have a lot of older cars and what not that you just dont see anymore. plus the people there are said to have the uncanny ability to tell you all sorts of ins and outs and history on the vehicles. oh wait you said under 35... doubt they'll see elkys and the like at a nopi meet. nevermind...
  12. i think that flopped cause it was an uglier turd than the ridgeline. In fact i think the joker that designed that hunk of trash is probably responsible for the raping and pillaging that has turned the wrx into the abomination it is now... as for the ssr, being not only scalped by dealers but also being underpowered the first year just set it up to be a near modern day edsel. the 6.0s had the muscle but it was too late by then. the 2006 models may be desirable in 10 or 15 years since only like 8000 were made. this thing will be what the ssr had dreams about being.
  13. couldnt agree more, theres a lot to be done with 1 mill but its for charity, in fact the guys actual bid was 900 but he agreed to pay the 1 mill like he did for the '53 because it was charity, and then he donated another 50K out of his pocket. clearly money isnt an object for him like it would be for us. personally i'd take the mill and buy one zr1 a 66, 68, and 69 427 impala a splitwindow vette stage 2 70 gs 87 gnx a few chevelles 69 crossram z28 70 1/2 lt1 camaro 70 lt1 corvette and track down my old 90 ss 454 with the rest i'd build a nice climate controlled garage and a studio apartment on the 2nd floor because i'd be too busy driving the cars to stare at the 4 walls of a house.
  14. yeah that thing was sweet, there was a thunderbird fastback concept that was there too, anyone catch how much it went for?
  15. i know this is a little off the subject but gt4 didnt have the new c6 z06 but the c5 and that sucked, gt5 is going ot have the c6 Z06 but after watchin this beast running around its going to suck because i want this vette in the game instead... after all, thats my only chance of owning one in this lifetime.
  16. I'm with you there, of course for that kind of money you could have one of each color and a regular house...
  17. they also sold the 08 chrysler 'cuda concept for a paultry $185K i think.
  18. they had the blue zr1 from the mags and press release on the stage as a representation, the actual car that was purchased is to be built. the lucky bidder... the guy that bought the 1953 serial #003 for 1 million last year. doesnt he know that its polite to share once in a lifetime chances?
  19. i did forget to mention that 100% of the proceeds from the sale was donated from gm to the united way too.
  20. dont forget cheap and easy, just a good old fasioned utilitarian color
  21. Anyone catch the ZR1 #0001 sell at barrett jackson in scottsdale arizona for $1,000,000. Winning bidder gets a one off color of lemans blue and a special RPO number that will be retired after the Vette is delivered. Owner gets to watch the car built in bowling green and drive it off the assembly line when its finished, on top of that a three day driving lesson with none other that Ron Fellows himself.
  22. i dont think the styling is too bad retro, more progressive i guess considering this thing was one of the last "challengers" we saw http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1982-dodge-...tem270203464126
  23. egress and ingress was supposedly why dodge went with the 4 dr charger. like you say its just easier to open your own door and get in than for someone to open a door lean a seat forward and you stoop into the back seat. they could have offered limited run 2drs at a premium price to offset the cost but its cheaper to make one body style. we had an 86 monte carlo... those were heavy doors and trust me you best get your feet in before the passenger or driver shuts the door on anything hanging out, from experience it hurts. with the materials auto makers have now long heavy doors shouldnt be a problem to weigh in... just long doors. i would love to see a 2 door impy sport coupe on the streets... b pillar or no it dont matter to me.
  24. suspect away cause last time they were on ebay motors you couldnt get one for under 45 grand. in fact 6500+ orders were put in the day orders were available meaning theres going to be some empty hands.
  25. oh thats why the purist cried foul when the 4 door chargers came out... cause they didnt really want the 2 dr coupe. they are relatively the same size. i thought the montes sold pretty good for what they were. build it and see, if a year it dont do well scrap it. theres always going to be a market for coupes, they just arent in demand like sedans.
