  7. nothing fancy about mine, my email, screen name, and profile are all the same. cletus is my nickname... i once told a friend of my that was older than me that my name is not manly enough so it was cletus from there on out. 82- birth year, 69- year of my impala. had that email address for 10 years now and the aim screen name for prolly 10 as well. on another note my back up screen name was given to me by a friend taking a japanese class kuritosu which he says is roughly cletus in japanese hehe

  10. geez i knew that too the fins give it away... dont know why i did that. i have it listed correctly on facebook. just caught up in the car i guess. oddly enough it was either a 55 or a 56 at the auction no 56 love to be found. fixed thanks balthazar

  12. we talked to the new owner who was there to sell the car. he wanted 26K for it, dad saw a sign in the back seat that said 19K he may have paid that or changed his mind how much he wanted for it. the interior was original but the dash and the carpet needed replacing. he had the original wheels at his house they need new meats and he had these wheels already to go. there looked to be only 2 spots on the outside, a dent about the f in california on the passenger side that could easily be rolled out and a spot that needed touching up on the rocker pannel. the thing that worried me the most were the bumps on the vinyl top. i got a vinyl top on my 69 and i knew what that meant. if its taken care of soon there shouldnt be a problem. give it a few years though and you'll prolly be fabricatin some patch panels. the paint though... man it was cherry. could see yourself in it.
  13. most welcome, it was a sweet little ride. the owner was no where to be found so i couldnt ask about it. even though it was off to the side it had a lot of people around it looking most of the day. i'll have a lot more pics in a few weeks cause me and dad are going to take a ride up to charlotte for the auto fair at lowes motor speedway in april
  14. went to a classic car auction this weekend with my day and saw a few nice cars and some... well not so nice. some of the cars not seent so much and two that were down right rare. on a side note got to meet David Pearson too, very interesting fellow. first up is a 1957 pontiac safari chiefton station wagon. had three row seats and airconditioning. i must say never seen a pontiac station wagon in person, prolly wont see another in a long time. the second is a 1969 buick GS california. 350 with an automatic on the column. enjoy.
  15. went to a classic car auction today, had a gold 1970 riviera with a 430 4 barrel, left before it sold though, it was sweeeeet! they had an 8.2 liter 73 elderado too. massive hehe. as far as what i miss, i just like to see cars that are 20+ years or older in general
  16. ah see thats the problem with being a person in a high place. everyone gets to disect what you say and critisize because thats the chic thing to do. maybe they should read things like this story... global warming ended in 1998
  17. the only time i think a charger looks redneck is if its got the duke package... but then thats mostly envy because i get the urge to go jump something
  18. i totally agree with the sound... it is a sympony that cannot be replaced... but that motorcycle is just sick.
  19. thats the place. they rotate inventory around every so often to keep it fresh. one time we went (we go whenever we are up there) there was a charger daytona and a plymouth superbird nose to nose. theres a re 62 vette in there that was bought for racing but it got disassembled and put into crates. someone bought it and put it back together. the car has never been started. i took a picture of the place card cause i didnt believe it.
  20. i think one of the comments on the page sums it up good too. One major factor was left out of this parable. The fact that the Unions bleeded the corporation to death. Once they realized that their artifically high wages were hurting the corporation they approached managment and both organizations hurt the corporation. In the end Toyota wins because they have less labor costs. also i think the reason why the asian companies build factories to sell here is because then you dont have import costs
  21. is this black you speak of the same as the new black granite metallic thats new for the colorados this year? whats up with the extra cost on that? i also noticed they changed to Inferno orange metallic instead of my sunset orange metallic. charge 265 for it as well. whats up with that?
  22. yeah i saw my first svx about 4 yrs ago and was like wtf that thing has 2 sets of windows?
  23. i cant remember, did that come out before or after vanishing point and crazy larry dirty mary? those are good too.
  24. While watching a new show on speed called pass time (which is very good) i have been introduced to a new form of drag racing. There have been a few electric cars come on the show. One was an electric powered s10 and the other was a pro comp rail style dragster with no less than 450 batteries and an electric motor that was the equivalent of 31 ci. Now being the big fan of big block power houses i am i totally underestimated these cars even though i am aware of an electric car on tv that i saw called "white Zombie" which consistently runs 11.5's. the pro comp style electric drag car ran if i recall correctly right at 9 maybe an 8.80. low and behold here are a few clips from youtube. this motorcycle is touted in another video to use only 10 cents of electricity per pass and is able to make 8 passes on a single charge. its called the killacycle and has a wiki page here and there is an official page link there was well. the second is a dragster called the current eliminator dont have any info but i understand that the biggest advantage of this is that electric motors produce 100% torque instantly. how would this reshape the sport? i can definately see it stopping al and the eco warriors but how well would this be received? btw just found another vid and it gives some Volt love too
  25. the grandparents just got a base g6 from the local p/b/gmc dealership for 12 and change after trading in a 97 bonne and talkin them down. the dealership is so hard up on selling cars when they found out they had a 96 sierra as well they tried to put them in a brand new base regular cab 1500 for 13,500.
