  1. it does everything i need it for. i traded my 1990 ss454 in and took the colorado home. its 1 2004 sunburst orange metallic crew cab 2wd LS with the Z71 suspension. i cant rightly complain about anything on it. me and 3 friends routinely go on 2 or 3 hour rides in it comfortably. i have driven to hilton head sc from my house with is about 300 miles away on 3/4 of a tank of gas, with a capacity of 19 gallons it comes out to around 20 or so. in my case its amazing cause i was getting 10 with the 454. everyday driving is enjoyable, has a 4500lb towing capacity so it does everything i want it to. one thing i would advise though is maybe get an 06 or newer cause they have the 3.7, i just think the 3.5 is a little lacking really. there was also a couple of service recalls on the 04's that i have gotten. one about a brake wiring harness could be defective and not light up the brakes, the other being excessive cylinder head wear but they have extended the factory warranty out to 100K miles and 6 yrs to cover it. other than that its a fine truck for comuting, camping, towing a fishing boat, or hauling everyday junk around town.
  2. my 04 crewcab 2wd gets about 20, my dads 04 Z85 silverado with GM 20's gets 20 as well... doh
  3. we got a 1996 granny owned buick century that we got from my grandpa after he passed, my dad drives it to work everyday it gets around 26 on the hwy. one thing to watch out to with the century's though im told is the head gaskets, the outer is no bid deal but the inner head gasket might get expensive if it needs to be replaced. it was replaced on the one we got before my grandfather bought it from the little old lady. the work at the dealership was like 1200. it'd be cheaper outside of a dealership and your uncle could more than likely cut you a deal if it happens. the a guy my dad works with said his wife's went at 70/80K miles and his mechanic said thats about normal for all. hearsay of course but its a good little car for sure.

  7. wow what an interesting list of best and worsts, especially the "worsts" list. I do find it funny that the 07 v8 4x4 tundra was exceptionally called out on the best list. full article at MSN Autos: http://editorial.autos.msn.com/article.asp...cumentid=435706 What says ye?

  11. which is the opninion of 11 out of 74 people who probably didnt even bother to post. i myself am counted with the majority on this poll
  12. thats funny i thought this thread was entitled "whats your beef with toyota?" somehow i misunderstood that as a subjective question and in reality it really was an invitation to a japanese hataraide binge party... amazing.
  13. just a question, but why was the "My biggest beef with Toyota is that I do not like their deceptive/unethical corporate practices. The recall coverups and faux-green marketing really grate me" part of his post ignored?
  14. i've always thought that one thing that could help the big three is just give us choice back, like when you could go order a car and get a 4 sp, a big block, heater delete, radio delete, power steering, disk brakes, roll up windows, and choose one of the 15 colors available. have about 3 of each car on the lot to represent the product then order one just like you want. could cut donw on overhead costs but i guess it would put them in the hole as far as purchase turn around goes, but i feel even though we live in a "microwave world" if people could just get what they wanted they'd pony up more often.
  15. the guy that owns the 3 Chic filet's in my town has a recognizable name too, no lie. John Holmes
  16. nope, never heard of the stuff, just saw the commercial yesterday and i guess it struck me funny.
  17. lest we forget the hemi-slaying L79's in the 66 nova's?
  18. when was that?
  19. was watching cities of the underworld that i recorded from monday night, along comes this commercial about controlling your acid reflux (evidently history channel = old people medicine demograhics) and that you should see your dr because he might prescribe rabeprazole sodium... over the counter name i kid you not : aciphex (pronounced ass iffex) is it just me or does the PR people need to get the boot on this one, sounds like a movie that would be on at 1am on skinemax http://www.aciphex.com/default.asp?page=home
  20. ooo read about that in this months motor trend, thats a fascinating little thing they got going on. only one problem with it, the powers that be wont make a lot of money off that so it'll prolly get downplayed.
  21. sounds like a video i saw on break.com, 14 yr old kid hops in dads brand new shelby and turns it on... through the garage wall. its scary but at least the only things hurt in the case you speak of were the replacible things.
  22. have a buddy that swears by saturn SC2s ive ridden in the car with him and its amazing the way he use to swing that thing around corners and what not, can get a manual too. he got around 35mpg or so in it.
  23. Aaaaaannnd hes off ladies and gentlemen! is this freshly typed or just copied and pasted from the caddy forum threads? i mean really there was just a write up of the G8 against a 5 series in automobile i think. and this month motor trend did compare the G8 against the charger. just like (and i hate to use this) the hyundai ad "do you have to pay $60,000 to get a $60,000 car? i know it isnt worth that much but where can you go to get a car equally equiped for the money? and since common sense has gone missing in the last 5 odd years, no i am pretty sure GM has nothing to do with this "commercial"
  24. shouldnt have a problem with that, i was told the older ps2 games are the ones that didnt work well with the slimlines but i never had a problem runnin them in mine, i ended up getting a slim line til i got the ps3, gamestop had one for 90 bucks
