  1. true, and they keep getting further and further out of reach every year. my sisters fiance has an s10 extreme 4.3 his major complaint is that his doesnt have a posi but all the 4cyl he sees has them hehe. my SS454 wasnt a barn burner by any means, and had i kept it i was planning a head swap and possibly a procharger. but it could hold its own against many a car... up till 55mph cause thats when final gear kicked in... stupid TH400
  2. A forumite at Gixxer claims he poured two 20 oz. bottles of NOS into his motorcycle's fuel tank because it was "running like crap." There's only one "NOS" that comes in 20 oz. sizes — the energy drink. Forum troll or honest-to-goodness recollection of an epic failure? You decide. Although we're not positive if this is a forum troll or an honest-to-goodness recollection of an epic failure, but here's the breakdown from the top. Catch the thread here. Gixxer.com user/Rainman "sti2gsxr" started off the party by posting about some mechanical issues he's been having recently: My bike was running like crap on my way home from work so I stopped at a gas station to get some NOS. I poured in 2 bottles and rode it home. Well I don't think it helped because it ran even worse on the way home and now it won't start. Any ideas? Sti2gsxr proceeds to describe the two 20 oz. bottles that he poured directly into his gas tank, which is a dead on account of the popular energy drink, not the fuel additive. The thread spirals out of control after that; harnessing the power of the internet to spread his feat over the entire spectrum of car forums, drawing enthusiasts from every orifice of the digital world, including 4Chan. Speaking of 4Chan, one of its illustrious members decided it proper to create a comic strip in honor of this special occasion. We've included it to the left as it is nearly essential to the enjoyment of this cavalcade of hilarity. This spectacle went as far as earning a spot in Wikipedia under the NOS entry. Oh how quickly an act can go from a huge personal failure, to forum fuel, and eventually to document historical event. jalopnik article link to the thread
  3. hehe whoops kinda makes me feel bad that is said FTL about it.
  4. did you try and run him? hehe. my dad was on the way to work one morning aound 6:30 or so when what should pull up beside him but an ominous black buick. limo tint to match the paint. dad was in his 04 Z85. he knew better, he just wanted to see if he would bite. he inched forward once then once more and stopped. sure enough the light turns green and the guy goes across the intersection like he stole it. he got it sideways when it hit second and got out of it, dad wasnt running him anyway. i saw the same 2010 camaro v6 i say last week on main street.
  5. working all weekend long, hooray for the healthcare industry. we are taking bets on whether or not we can keep our streak alive. had a boating accident 3 for 3 so far. we are going for 4 in a row!
  6. this thread got to politics almost as fast as word association got to sex.
  7. im glad the cadillac is high on the list. one thing that i also like is this comment on the article. Notice not a single car listed is made in America, save the Cadillac Converj. However this electric car has yet to have its technology confirmed. I don't fault GM however. You can thank the UAW and the US Government for killing the Automobile Industry in the USA. The greedy thugs in the UAW and Govt Regulations, as well as Lawyers who sue whenever the wind blows, have taken a powerful national asset and decimated it. I do not blame Mgt of these companies, as they have had crushing Legacy payments, benefits, and wages to pay for decades. GM/Ford/Chrysler have lacked true resources for decades and have made below average products because that's all they COULD make, and sell. Poor interiors, substandard components, etc... have all been ways of putting cars out there at a competitive price, but just weren't competitive. In order to be competitive from a product perspective, they'd need to sell at an uncompetitive price due to these enormous costs incurred by lawyers, Union Thugs and excessive Govt Regulation.
  8. According to Forbes here is an insight into the cars we'll be driving by 2014. Did i just do a Honda plug via subliminal messages? http://www.forbes.com/2009/05/20/future-ca...future-car.html Everybody knows the auto world has shifted. The trick is divining which brands have got the gumption to last. Now, with President Obama's new efficiency standards requiring a fleet-wide fuel economy average of 35.5 miles per gallon, automakers have their work cut out for them. Domestic carmakers in particular are gearing up to battle forthcoming offerings from new-to-the-U.S.Fiat ( FIA - news - people ), with its diminutive 55.5-mile-per-gallon Fiat 500, and Chinese newcomer BYD, maker of the staid hybrid-electric F3DM sedan. Motor City had better get cracking. It takes four years to produce a market-ready vehicle, and a typical lifecycle for one model is seven years. While we wait to see what brands emerge victorious, Honda's ( HMC - news - people ) mod CR-Z and Ford's ( F - news - people ) "eco-boosted" Euro models point to the types of cars we can expect by 2014. Incremental Improvement Just don't get your hopes up for lots of choices when it comes to plug-in cars. Automakers insist there's still much to improve about the humble combustion engine, and they plan to eek out all the improvement they can get. Tom Plucinsky, a spokesman for BMW, says the company will bring a gasoline-powered and highly efficient X1 compact SUV to market by 2014. "There's no breakthrough," Plucinsky says. "It's all little things that can add up. We've made big advances over the last five years or so in the efficiency of the gasoline engine, but we think that there's another 10% there." BMW will find that 10% by using smaller (read: lighter), forced-induction engines that generate more power. (Plucinsky says naturally aspirated engines will be relatively nonexistent by 2014). Ford and Mercedes have also said they'll bring 4-cylinder, turbo-charged engines to the U.S. in the next several years. Audi has joined the light-engine surge as well, committing to building a next-generation S5 that weighs hundreds of pounds less than the current version. Audi's Bradley Stertz says advances in aluminum construction will lighten its load, making it more fuel-efficient. China Rising In the meantime, Americans can expect a trickle of vehicles from afar. Italian-run Fiat and Alfa Romeo will likely have vehicles in U.S. showrooms by 2014. But the real news lies further east: China. At the Detroit Auto Show Chinese automakers Brilliance and BYD ("Build Your Dreams") showed cars that could eventually reach the states, perhaps branded under a different name. Geely and Chery are other Chinese automakers with ideas for expansion outside the East. Lincoln Merrihew, senior vice president of business solutions for market research firm TNS, says he expects a China-made car to hit in five years or less. "It'll be a mixture of capabilities and bravado that will determine who comes in under their own flag," Merrihew says. http://www.forbes.com/2009/05/20/future-ca...thisSpeed=15000 here is a picture gallery of all the cars on the list.
  9. Being 27 with a full time job i am only now finding disposable invcome to throw at vehicles... a house payment is in the near future though so i doubt i will be in this situation long enough to aquire one. my ss454 still wouldnt qualify i think it was a 15.9 @ 90 mph that being said FTW FTL

  11. me thinks they blew one of those up on mythbusters with the car full of lighters deal... that or maybe a late 70's celica.
  12. does this mean i ordered that SS Impala garden memorial stone too early?
  13. my dad's ride in high school (75/76) ermine white 68 SS 396(325hp) chevelle m22 4sp we had an 87 ss monte carlo i owned a 1990 SS 454 1500 man i loved that truck.
  14. yeah dad always stuck with the tricycle planes, i liked the tail draggers but they are a lil iffy at take off. i have a megatech pusher plane. its decent but i want to move up and get something like a piper g3 and hopefully get a ducted fan one day. there are a lot of airsofters that are moving to the lipo's and they are making gearboxes and guns specifically for them. but the fact that you arent supposed to fully charge or discahrge em is a little tedous to me. i cant stay on top of em like that... plus the cost for the big ones.
  15. yeah we flew back in the day when only trainers were made of foam. i had an EZ-Bee trainer with a tiny glow plug motor. ran for around 5 min then it was a glider from there on out. dad had the telemasters. in fact we have a telemaster 66 thats never been in the air. has about 100 or so hours in it. we have a telemaster 40 ARF that has seen the most time in the sky. We had one we lost on the maiden flight. it sucks hard to watch em go down but those are the breaks. the new stuff is great though. the Park flyers make it so easy anyone can get into it. ive got a foam park flyer, when it crashes i use the tyvak tape on it. www.hobby-lobby.com has some great stuff to look at. even videos.
  16. saw this and a green 54 chevy belair hardtop.
  17. hmmm point taken. maybe this then http://www.eyeclops.com/ there was a guy that said he soldered in more IR bulbs and it was as good as or better than the GEN I stuff. careful though there is only feed to one eye so theres a depth perception problem... that may get intensified lookin at the pics of the plane

  19. can i haz NVG?
  20. i for one find this thread borderline offensive. it is completely biased and i dont one minute think that the other side gets to voice an opinion.... i mean i had an ACER computer once and those graphics by no means even resemble mine. it was at least as powerful as a super nintendo
  21. I think politician camp for all elected officials engrains that in everyone before they take the oath
  22. i hated this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5tEmKbZP7k and the ending of vanishing point.
  23. no he's right, the litigation and red tape is becoming absurd. you cant so much as fart without there being repercussions these days. everything is being mandated right out of existence just so happy few are just that happy. THIS IS WHY I PAY GAS GUZZLER TAXES, btw does that mean that the Z06's are going to have to start charging a gas guzzler tax? maybe people should freakin do their homework before they stand up and vote on a bill or a law. i cant help but think what the crap that bimbo was thinking when she looked at her hud and say that her car was making 32mpg and she believed that we were this close whats 3 more? im sorry, i guess i'm just going to have to do a fat smokey burnout in my impala everytime i pull up to a green car just out of sheer pissed offery. For a country to condemn a car company for not making what people want and then people step up and say well everyone likes this car it may cause a problem. how is that not stupid?
  24. Announcer: da dsksiffh sdhink fhsifn BOOM heheheheh take that ultimate driving machine. hip checked into the outside wall.
