  1. seen a guy driving a box chevy painted up black with orange flames and HD up and down it rollin on 24-26's. every time he had to come to a stop he would start turning the car back and forth in his lane in an effort that i can only assume was to bleed off speed. did it at 3 red lights in a row. hope he gets some adequate brakes soon...
  2. i put that one up when the site launched i have this at the moment... well actually this since probably feb i view of twin lakes in Alaska, close to the cabin of Dick Proenneke
  3. BINGO, the exact thing i was thinking about. Chew on this for a minute too. remember the 90's ZR-1's price tag? i remember seeing a 94 ZR-1 at Clinkscales Chevrolet when my dad bought his z28. sticker was $65K and change. Look what you got for the money then and see what you get now almost 15 yrs later. it blew my mind when the c5's dropped back in 97 and the starting price was $38K
  4. blah, the handling sucks. blah, the acceleration sucks, blah the price sucks... (vampire review) or they could get the count to do it "one upshift, two upshift, three upshift, four upshifts ah ah ah!
  5. a b59 chillin with a butternut yellow 138 chevelle in a bodyshop parking lot. the owner is a real car guy and currently traverses the county in a ford fairlane 500. both the buick and chevy need a resto, looks like the 59 took one on the Lt cheek at some point.
  6. (Mods feel free to move this to where it may be but i thought in the lounge since its just a personal opinion.) so for the past week or so i have been seeing this really, really annoying toyota commercial that states "80% of toyotas sold are still on the road today"... how in the world do they get that number? one would think that with the rust problems of late, wrecks, salvage, fires, and apathetically parking it and never moving it again would amount to more than just 20% of total production. i just felt like i needed to vent cause it comes on twice an hour on some of the programs i watch and annoys the t total piss out of me. even worse they follow it up with that stupid "breath easy" cause toyo has the most hybrids by any auto maker commercial.
  7. i think maybe if he were to look at the big picture here. he would see that there is a corvette ahead of every porsche on the list... further more he would begin to understand how pissed off the Enzo driver would become seeing a "sucky" corvette thats a tenth of its price in the rear view mirror. and his precious gt3? why its just a scant second faster than a Z06. tire pressure adjustment here, spring rate there and wow... you may be beside the gt3... at the end of the day this guy seems nothing more than a shock jock who got canned and instead now does freelance for whomever will write a check for some groceries and rent.
  8. Setting the record for world's fastest gasoline-powered land vehicle, the 1,900 HP Spectre Performance Infidel is powered by a twin-turbo 1970s Cadillac punched out to 529 CI. LSR cars typically run some sort of ethanol blend or nitromethane fuel for maximum power, while the maximum outright speeds are achieved by jet-powered, rather than wheel-driven vehicles. Thrust SSC holds the current outright land speed record of 763 MPH while the 458.4 MPH wheel-driven record is held by the Vesco Turbonator. The Iron-block cadillac engine uses its original cast iron crank and achieved its record during its first outing on the salt and after only 3 runs. In a reversal of conventional wisdom, the fastest gasoline-powered wheel-driven vehicle is slower than the fastest diesel-powered car; The JCB DieselMax hit 350.4 MPH in 2006. for a few vids make the jump http://jalopnik.com/5379917/worlds-fastest...nd-speed-record

    "dumb me"

working at Office Depot as a cashier i had a lady come in and buy a (then) top of the line 21"crt flat screen monitor to replace her defunct one. the very next day she brought it back sealed in the box to return it. seems the old one had come unplugged...
  11. in the colorado... no. i wont even consider an exhaust system for it because no matter what i put on there its gonna sound like rice. now the SS454 had flowmaster 40's and the impala has the super 50's so yes i rode for miles with the windows down at night listening to the symphony under the hood.
  12. If you go the SSR route hit up a 2006 model. stupid low numbers for that year. i think around 8000, closer to 6500 i think though. 95 ZR-1 would be sweet but just like chris said, the breed of the car is what thats for but you wouldnt want to flog one routinely... especially when it comes to engine repair on the LT5 yikes... if you are looking project car i always like looking here and wondering huge potential, other than no resale value, a possible cheap custom ride could be the future.
  13. thats what happens when you still live in your parents basement post 10 yr high school reunion... hehehe now where did i put that 20 sided die...
  14. so lets make a deal, if the case balks then the time used to tie up the legal system should cost this guy as many lashes as he is asking for the amount of money...
  15. and... uh... exactly what is wrong with that? i bet my bench seat column shifter with a vinyl top has got more than enough to handle what an aurora can throw at it. piss my old fart family car without air is more appealing to me than half the stuff new on a lot right now.
  16. in the past week hanging out at the local "GM Superstore" a smooth $28K on the sticker sigh... flagrantly zipped across 4 lanes of traffic to get this pic up close. group of 4 cars heading to tennessee 2 weeks ago one of the ER doc's ride. edit. jeez photobucket mobile sucks, all those pics were the same resolution...

  18. working 2nd (1430-2300) it was hard for me to even make it to 12:30 back when adult swim had the best lineup... then for a while i was up til 0200-0300 and sleeping til 10-11. hated sleeping half the day away. when i needs teh sleeps i reach for the flyod folder on the computer or mp3 player. one of may faves is the dark side of the moon or one of the long songs such as (my super fav pairing of the song... interesting too.)
