Why stop there. Lets delete the rubstrip, Onstar antenna, GM badge, corner light (replaced with mirror light), color key doorhandles, tint the windows, darken the headlights...and, why not "paint it black"! -
Not always. Having an event devoted to one car brings sharper focus to it. DCX can make it a big event. When the Cirrus and Stratus debuted, Chrysler ran infomercials shot at their proving grounds with "real" people (getting their "unbiased" impressions).

Those tailights blow my mind. Its like a translucent jelly filled with colored shapes. Pretty cool car all around. The interior is a bit boring IMO.
