If your wife really likes the LaCrosse, I don't think she'd be satisfied with the Verano. My personal favorite Buick is the Regal for the sharp handling. To me, driving the LaCrosse is like driving a pillow. But that's just me. The Verano leans more towards the Regal than the LaCrosse in the driving experience. I'm sure you know all about the room inside the vehicles. The LaCrosse has limo-like legroom in back, though is a bit narrow. The Verano is for small people in back.

LaCrosse is supposed to be redone for model year 2016. http://wot.motortrend.com/1501_spied_2016_buick_lacrosse_hits_the_highway.html

I don't like the Bolt name. My first thought was not bolt of lightning, but rather nuts and bolts. Too close to Volt too. However, it's better than any alphanumeric.

Chicago Auto Show: 2016 Acura RDX: Comments
bobo replied to William Maley's topic in Chicago Auto Show (CAS)
This is a pretty dang nice CR-V. Honda did a nicer job disguising the plebeian roots of the RDX than Lexus did with the NX (RAV4). -
Chicago Auto Show: Kia Trail'ster Concept: Comments

This is a brilliant concept, and I would expect the styling updates to be incorporated into the MCE or the next generation Soul.- 4 replies

Chicago Auto Show: 2016 Chevrolet Equinox: Comments
bobo replied to William Maley's topic in Chicago Auto Show (CAS)
Not bad for an update, but it should have happened in year 4 of the current Equinox, or model year 2013. I'll give GM the benefit of the doubt for getting their house in order after the bankruptcy, but this update couldn't have cost much.- 17 replies

Chicago Auto Show: 2016 Toyota Avalon: Comments
bobo replied to William Maley's topic in Chicago Auto Show (CAS)
The updated lower front fascia is not an improvement. It just brings it more in line with the ugly new Camry. Compared to the homely Camry, though, the Avalon is a thing of beauty. -
They shouldn't bother with the RLX anymore. Acura sells twice as many crossovers than cars. Maybe they should just become a crossover division.

Google and Car Makers at odds over Self-Driving Cars
bobo replied to kittyworker's topic in Industry News
In about 5 years, Google, Tesla, Nissan, and I'm guessing Audi will have self-driving cars. I would guess the initial cost to be around an additional $20k, with the price coming down substantially in about 10 years, when there will be much higher market penetration. In about 20 years, I could see all new vehicles having the technology. Google has a fleet of autonomous Lexus RX450h that they let their employees drive home. It's pretty incredible what the vehicles can do by themselves--drive through construction zones and identify and avoid pedestrians and bicyclists. The technology removes a lot of the human error that plagues driving. I would feel safer with autonomous vehicles driving rather than distracted motorists. -
Hyundai News:Hyundai To Redesign Current Sonata Due To Poor Sales Start
bobo replied to William Maley's topic in Hyundai
The new Sonata is bland, but bland normally plays in the family sedan segment. I prefer it to the old car, but I still think the aging Kia Optima is the more attractive car. This shows that Hyundai isn't quite there with Toyota, Honda, or Nissan in public perception. -
Detroit Auto Show: Chevrolet Bolt Concept: Comments

Quirky. More interesting than the new Volt. The D-pillar is kind of similar to the first generation Mercedes A-class.- 13 replies

Chevrolet News:Next Chevrolet Malibu To Become Competitive
bobo replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
We've heard this before on practically every Malibu since it was reintroduced for 1997. Even the 1988 Beretta/Corsica was supposed to wow us with their quality and sleek designs. The current Malibu was supposed to blow our socks off with its supposedly sporty, Camaro-inspired styling, but it's been a dud. The front seat is a decent place to be, but just about everything else about the car is a little off. That being said, I have a little more confidence in GM this time because their recent new vehicle introductions have almost all have been competitive, if not best in class.- 61 replies

Great reviews. Your assessments are pretty much spot on. I was looking at all three of these vehicles, but I went in another direction and recently purchased something used and cheap instead. I'll post something about it soon. As for the Fit, I find the exterior design more bland than the last generation, but the interior room is amazing, and Honda infused the car with many more features. The Soul has a commanding driving position and is much cheaper than crossovers. It doesn't drive like a penalty box. The new model is much nicer than the old one. Mazda3s get very pricey, especially with a loaded Grand Touring model like yours. But these are also a class above competitors such as the Civic, Elantra, Cruze, and Focus.

Chevrolet News:Chevrolet Colorado Takes Home Truck of the Year Honors
bobo replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
The Colorado does more to the mid-size pickup market than the F-150 does for the full-sizers. It seems most full-size truck love goes to the Ram these days.- 19 replies

Cadillac Files Trademarks for CT2-CT8, XT2-XT8
bobo replied to Cmicasa the Great's topic in Cadillac
Lame. CT2 is close to Lexus' CT200. The XT names sound like a series of truck tires.
