  1. Went to the Toyota dealer yesterday to look at a new potential family automotive appliance. Was there mainly to check out the Prius and Prius v. There were a couple of plug-in hybrid Prii, one for $32k and an upmarket one for $39k. There was also a red Scion FR-S, the second the dealer received. The first was an automatic that already sold. The dealer is selling them for sticker, per Scion practice. The other vehicle I'm smitten with is the Kia Soul, but that isn't being seriously considered.

  4. Nice review. I love the look of the Evoque. I love the name too. (Too bad Cadillac didn't use Evoq for the XLR.) Range Rover has some of the nicest interiors around. But I don't particularly care for an SUV coupe. It's almost oxymoronic.
  5. The E-bodies transitioned from the glorious personal luxury coupes of '79 to '85 to these shrunken supposedly European-influenced things. Car and Driver called their long-term '86 Riviera T-Type the "TV-Type" and bashed it, and GM claimed the vehicle early. These were some of the darkest days of GM.

  12. The roads are probably too far gone for the treatment to work then. Funding for road maintenance is woefully inadequate as costs have increased, vehicles get better mileage, and the federal gax tax has not increased in 15 years. Expect to continue to drive on roads in poor condition.
  13. Maybe an Avalon? He really liked his Millenia, so maybe he went back to a plush ride..

Good luck in the new job search. Fortunately (or not), people will always have wrecks, so I'm sure you'll find something soon.
  15. Yes, nice looking couple. I'm not really a fan of the Taurus, though. I haven't driven the refreshed version, but I found last year's model to be a big, wallowy cushmobile. For being such a big car outside, the inside feels tight.
  16. It's a very cost-effective type of preventative maintenance treatment for asphalt pavement. It seals cracks and preserves good pavement, though the downside is the loose aggregate.

  19. No love for the diesel? It was a good engine.

  21. Saw quite a few rare or oddball cars today. Started out with an elusive Buick Verano, in pearl white. First one I've seen on the road. Does GM even advertise this car? A pearl white Acura ZDX. I was intriqued who would buy an ugly, impractical, expensive crossover such as this, and apparently it's a middle-aged woman. A black Chrysler Prowler. A late 80's powder blue Subaru XT. Two Porsche Panameras, one in white and the other in charcoal. A donked circa 1970 Olds Cutlass convertible. And this mid-60's El Camino: Uploaded with ImageShack.us
