  2. Happy birthday x2!
  3. I second the Saturn SC2. If this was open to imports, I would've voted for a Prelude.
  4. EX-L CVT for $27,995. May be our next family car. Not bad at all.

  14. I went new car shopping in the summer of 1987. My plan was to get the then brand new Beretta GT. But also on the short list were the Honda Prelude Si, Pontiac Firebird Formula 305, Pontiac Sunbird GT, Chevy Cavalier Z24, and the Acura Integra LS. I had even considered the Pontiac 6000 SE, Pontiac LeMans, Cadillac Cimarron, and Chevy Camaro IROC-Z. I ended up with the Integra. Of the cars listed, I'd go with the Chevy Nova Twin Cam.

  17. They look like warmed over versions of the last cars, though the sedan does look better. There's a very good chance that the sedan will end up in our garage.

  19. I went back to my favorite restaurant, and that big wiener was still across the street by the hotel. Unfortunately, when I left the restaurant, it was gone. Here's another picture I took the day before, showing the Firebird taillights: Earlier in the day, I saw a new Scion FR-S:
  20. The FWD A-bodies weren't bad for what they were, the follow-up to the disastrous FWD X-bodies, at a difficult time in the nation in the aftermath of the fuel crisis. Too bad the A-bodies just kind of lingered and lingered and lingered (except for the Celebrity), kind of like the W-bodies but without the major updates.
  21. I had just finished lunch and was leaving the restaurant when I came upon another feast for the eyes, the biggest wiener I've ever seen. I've never had the pleasure of seeing a Wienermobile in person. It was unattended at a hotel parking lot, with the wiener jockeys probably taking a respite at the hotel unless they were having a meal at the IHOP next door.

  24. For the hybrid, 19 mpg city, 23 highway, and 30 mpg combined does not make sense. Can that be 20 mpg combined? Can it be that bad?
  25. Saw one of America's great treasures today, a first generation Seville Opera Coupe in dark gray. It's been at least a decade since I've seen one in person. Unfortunately, it was just a fleeting moment of experiencing the car's glory, and I didn't get a chance to take a picture.
