  1. Never saw the Toronto thing. I saw a Sienna with gold Lexus badges, including one proclaiming "V8".
  2. The heated windshield fluid isn't very relevent to most of us in California. What would have been better for us would be the virtues of having a 275 hp V-8.
  3. Fake and pre-lighted.
  4. I never realized that Toyota sells almost twice as many LX470's than Land Cruisers. If you're going to spend that much money for a vehicle, spending a few thousand more for the longer warranty and better dealer service isn't throwing away money.
  5. Infiniti has 177 dealerships in the U.S. That means each dealership averages one sale of a Q45 every three months.
  6. One of my life's ambitions is to drive Route 66 in a Corvette.
  7. It appears the new IS has caught on. The Tacoma's doing ok now, and the Tundra is doing very good for an aging design.
  8. I prefer the black grille. The lower fascia looks much better on the upmarket trim levels.
  9. A fair review. I also think it's fair mentioning GM's straits and the fact that GM got this vehicle out under the circumstances. He states that the company can do great design if it tries.
  10. It has the same bulgy hood as the '07 Camry. They took no chances with the styling on this thing.
  11. Congrats, CSpec. You're a worthy addition to the moderating team.
  12. The one I mostly closely associate with Oldsmobile was "We've had one built...for you. Oldsmobile." That was during Olds' heyday when the Cutlass was becoming the most popular car in the country. My least favorite: "Oldsmobile quality. Feel it." This one rang hollow and was during the beginning of Olds' decline. GM quality was not good at this time. Probably the most memorable, if often unliked, especially by Madison Avenue types: "This is not your father's Oldsmobile. This is the new generation of Olds." I liked this campaign. On the videotapes that Ninety_Eight_Regency so generously sent to some of us, the commercials for the new cars showed Ringo Starr and Priscilla Presley.
  13. A few years ago, the Salvation Army briefly had domestic partner benefits, but then they were rescinded after an uproar. The Salvation Army does do good work, but that move did not sit well with me.
  14. I've driven several K-cars at work, and I even took one home for several months. It was basic, but dependable transportation. Much better than Tempos, J-bodies, and I would also say N-bodies of that vintage.
  15. Not digging the carbon fiber-look dashboard.
  16. I did not know that the 3-Series is getting a power hardtop. It gives the car nice, thin pillars for good visibility.
  17. I would have thought that Infiniti would do a G45 before doing a V-8 Z, but maybe Nissan will do both. There are some people who just don't like sixes, and this engine could breathe new life into these vehicles.
  18. Sounds like Toyota has a class-leading product. I can't say I care for the looks inside or out.
  19. Dave has been shamelessly plugging this Thursday's show for the last couple of weeks. I'm going to catch it for sure.
  20. The Infiniti M35/45 and Hyundai Sonata are also considered large cars. The new Impala is still classified as large. A lot of LeSabres sold in the $20K to $22K range. The new car is much better and has a longer warranty, so it won't sell for those bargain basement prices. The Bonneville is also gone, so the Lucerne will also need to plug that hole in Pontiac's lineup for the PBG dealership.
  21. I forgot that I drove an HHR with the 2.4 liter ecotec. The car never felt underpowered, but I didn't go up any hills. I think the engine would be adequate in the G6, though it does weigh 200 pounds more than an HHR. I also forgot that the Solstice has the big ecotec. It feels perfectly fine in that car, which may be overweight for a roadster, but is still 600 pounds lighter than a G6.
  22. That's something they teach in personal safety classes. Plus looking under the car for any suspicious items. I'm not that paranoid, though, to bother doing it.
  23. I understand the sentiment that the design of the Lucerne seems more Oldsmobile than Buick. Aside from the ventiports and the Velite-influenced grille on the outside and the instrument panel on the inside, there is nothing about this car that says Buick at all. It is a very clean design, which is what Oldsmobile had towards the end. That's also probably why I like the design. With this car, Buick seems to be abandoning the bread-and-butter full-size family sedan, unless they start discounting this car like they did the LeSabre. However, that would hurt the image of the car and dissuade higher-end people from buying the high-bucks version.
  24. The white one looks a lot better than the other one, but I'm a sucker for anything that is pearl white. Inside, I especially like the dashboard and instrument panel. I don't know that it's a $40K car though. The more I see it, the more I like the Lucerne. However, I am worried about how the car will sell though. The LeSabre was the best-selling full-size car. I don't see this selling in the same volumes because of the higher price. I know there are people who hate seeing parallels between Buick and Oldsmobile, but it almost feels like when the 98, 88, and Aurora got combined into a single expensive car.
  25. Here's the 2005 G6 manual: https://www.mygmlink.com/pdf/go2content/man...tiac/2k05g6.pdf
