  1. I'm not disagreeing where we spend are money but its unrealistic to compare japans to ours. Japan 377,835 sq km US 9,826,630 sq km It would cost a lot more to revamp our structure than it was theirs. plus they had the ability to build new. While the US is stuck with an existing infrastructure from the 1800's. Which is more costly to upgrade than it is to build new.
  2. who really cares at this point I say there should be no poles and stuff until election day. Or like the UK's system everything is packed into 3 months i think it is? this is drawing out way to long. We all no either candidate will be able to accomplish nothing. The Prez is a Flagship. We need to reform Congress to get anything done. get all the old guys out of congress and vote the underdogs and give them a chance to shake things up.
  3. hmm... that does fun, but there young and agile I'm big, old, and slow. I guess I could cheat and still show them skill doesn't go away with age.

  5. http://freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID...NEWS07/80913011 kinda overshadowed by Ike. LOS ANGELES-- Emergency crews found more victims early today, boosting the death toll to 17, as they delicately picked apart the mangled wreckage of a commuter train that collided head-on with a freight train on the same track. Advertisement More victims were feared trapped in the wrecked Metrolink commuter train. About 135 people were injured. The impact rammed the Metrolink engine backward into a passenger car, which rested on its side with the engine still inside it early today, and accordioned the freight train cars. Two other Metrolink cars remained upright. Crews had to put out a fire under part of the train. During the night, the teams used hydraulic jacks to keep the passenger car from falling over and other specialized rescue equipment to gently tear apart the metal. Fire Capt. Steve Ruda said the goal was to eliminate every piece of metal and gradually work down into the passenger spaces, but by midnight crews were just getting through the top deck of the double-decker train. "There's so much damage, we need to wait for heavier equipment," Ruda said early today. Officials say there were 222 people on the Metrolink train and four Union Pacific employees aboard the freight train. The cause of the collision had not been determined. "This is the worst accident I've ever seen," Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa said. "Clearly the injuries are going to mount and so are the fatalities." Asked how the two trains ended up on the same track, Steven Kulm, a spokesman for the Federal Railroad Administration: "We are nowhere near having any information on that." Kulm said the federal investigation will be headed by the National Transportation Safety Board, while his agency will conduct a review of whether any federal rail safety regulations were violated. Union Pacific spokeswoman Zoe Richmond said it is common in California for freight and commuter trains to be on one track. "You see it a lot in California where commuter trains share tracks with freight trains," Richmond said, adding she couldn't speculate about the cause of the crash. Dr. Marc Eckstein, medical director for the city Fire Department, said 135 people were taken to hospitals — about 85 of them in serious or critical condition. In the initial hours after the disaster, firefighters treated the injured at three triage areas near the wreck, and helicopters flew in and out of a nearby landing area on evacuation flights. Dazed and injured passengers sat on the ground and wandered about. Leslie Burnstein saw the crash from her home and heard screams of agony as she ran through a haze of smoke toward the wreckage. She pulled victims out one by one. "It was horrendous," said Burnstein, a psychologist. "Blood was everywhere. ... I heard people yelling, screaming in pain, begging for help." Metrolink spokeswoman Denise Tyrrell said the Metrolink train left Union Station in downtown Los Angeles and was headed northwest to Moorpark in Ventura County. The trains collided at about 4:30 p.m. in the Chatsworth area of the San Fernando Valley, near a 500-foot-long tunnel underneath Stoney Point Park. On the north side of the tunnel, there is a siding, a length of track where one train can wait for another to pass, Tyrrell said. "I do not know what caused the wreck," said Tyrrell who broke down crying and was shaking. "Obviously two trains are not supposed to be on the same track at the same time." Until Friday, the worst disaster in Metrolink's history occurred on Jan. 26, 2005, in suburban Glendale when a man parked a gasoline-soaked SUV on railroad tracks. A Metrolink train struck the SUV and derailed, striking another Metrolink train traveling the other way, killing 11 people and injuring about 180 others. Juan Alvarez was convicted this year of murder for causing the crash.
  6. I'm sure hookers would go over well with the GF's... But I know they would enjoy it. So Gift cards to Best Buy and a night at the strip club i guess should do it. Mr. Civic It was with Iron Sights. I hope I'm good. But I was a Sniper For the Army's SOD. Which allows me to own... Its bad ass but i hate it. So many little things annoy me about it. I went today and shot off 3 boxes of .45's in the 1911. It's stainless with wood grips. very nice and balanced. it kicks nicely, Also it will shoot as fast as you can pull the trigger. Thanks for the ideas. I you think you have another good idea feel free.
  7. Some of you know i am doing some work on the political campaigns as security and other stuff. If with 3 other guys all in there early 20's. its comical because I'm old enough to be there Dad's. So they call me Pa. Well as a joke at the range today I bet that I could shoot better with my pistol than they can with there scoped rifles at 100 yards. If I won they would have to buy me a S&W 1911 .45 pistol because they complain my 9mm Browning wont cut the job anymore. It was close but a 3rd party counted the points and I came out ahead by 5 points. I said i would take them out to the bar and to forget about the bet. Well to my surprise when we meet up later they got me the pistol. At first i was mad but than really set back and made me feel guilty. I need to get these guys something though because it has been the time of my life these past couple of weeks. Anyway since i have a guilt trip what should i get these 20 year old's? Ipods, Cameras? Camaro's? Thanks for your suggestions.
  8. for those across the sea.. use a Scania R480 6x2 in place of the Peterbuilt. Diesel smoky flavor is the best!
  9. damn that was a clean car for how old it was. Sorry to hear about this.
  10. the best is... slice potatoes in small strips soak potatoes in a cooking oil with beef broth preheat your Peterbuilt 378 take aluminum foil and make a pocket put fries in pocket add seasoning salt close pocket shake well place pocket on manifold of truck and drive! after a 100 mile trip open and enjoy

  15. 5 spoke torque thrusts
  16. one thing is that i am required to carry a firearm. which it is very helpful in assisting others in crimes in progress or making civilian arrests. although the legal process and paper work SUCKS ASS!!!! anytime i pull the pistol out. I want to get a taser gun but they wont allow me to have one yet. The best so far was back in 2000 i just retired from my service and i was still edgy. im in a bank in the Detroit area and this guy comes in and pulls out a .44 He says give me your money. A witness said with in 2 seconds i had my gun drawn and pined the guy down on the ground hard and blurted not today mother f@#ker. I was charged with Assault though since i broke the guys nose. by slamming his face in the marble like floor. I lost the civil case and had to pay the scum $7500. but he went to jail for 20 years. My lawyer asked if it was worth it. And Yeah it was. But the average person should probably take it as it comes. its not worth jail time or your life over petty crimes.
