If its dirty that means its working. Its cleaning the engine. Color doesnt matter as much as viscosity does. if it still feels smooth and slick and not gritty your good. i run RP in my cars but my last oil change cost me $60ish! so thats not going to fly anymore.

Toyota Reportedly Down to $18.5 Billion in Cash
capriceman replied to Intrepidation's topic in Toyota
did toyota just think that all the lost sales from the rest were going to them? There should be some CEO being flamed right now. How did they not see the ENTIRE market fall like this? I hate toyota as much as the next guy but, Who ever is running the company has no idea how to run it. how come these storys are never in the front pages where today GM cuts 2k jobs is front page? Oh well we all no GM is cutting everything and anything. Show that foreigns are doing bad too. Or show me news where some little girl found here lost dog. At least it will be happy and not depressing. -

If I were to build a Computer
capriceman replied to Justin Bimmer's topic in Electronics and Technology
Im at work so i will post more on this later. but yeah GPU are big my 8800 ultra is 11 1/2 long also the Green camp released the GTX 295 that beats the red camps 4870 x2 for a mere 500 but rumor has it all of the top cards are going to drop in price as much as 100 once all the older 65nm cards like the 260 and 280 are depleted. but this fall is the release of DX 11? supposedly so that means newer better stuff. but as a warning you can sped 4k on a kick ass system now and in 3 months from now it will cost about 1100 to build it. it will always be out of date. however a loop hole in my warranty through microcenter might mean an i7 for me by next week... im excited. www.microcenter.com beats newegg in CPU prices almost always and sometime by alot they might even have a store nearby normally good sales people. but the guys in white are commission guys in blue are hourly. -

funny how vista and windows updates found all my drivers it took longer to download firefox/flash/java than it did to find drivers and im running all custom $h!. also funny how it found my legacy parallel HP plotter too. Anyway, Im sorry stang, Thats just an odd problem. if you uninstall flash be sure to do it from Start>Computer Then in the little tool bar there's uninstall a program.

Well either its a HP board or someone flashed the bios with an HP rom. as for operating system not found there are a number of reasons There is no operating system (formated drive) = reinstall windows Its trying to boot off the hard drive that doesn't have the MBR and stops there, Fix= try having one hard drive in at a time if the drives are IDE make sure the Jumper is on CS(Cable Select Operating system is jacked up* = Fix Reinstall windows or try a repair installation http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/How-to-repa...ws-XP-t138.html MBR is jacked up* http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_...s/wxprcons.html follw the 3,4,5 picture on the site then type FIXBOOT if its not availble than reinstall os. unless they set an admin password and you know it leave it blank Cable is loose/bad =reseat cable/replace IDE controller on MOBO is bad =new computer is in oreder Im guessing pentium 4 socket 478 = obsolete Hard drive is bad.* = plug into other computer and test and run Chkdsk on it start>run>CMD> CHKDSK $: /r and yes to both $ = letter of drive No boot order in BIOS bad/loose ram * = most likely Test the hard drive first and run check disk on them bad sectors can do crazy stuff but the hard drive is allowed to have them. then try repair installation then install fresh OS thats about all i can think of

when the run window comes up type "CMD" and the black window will stay up. in the black window type "ping www.gm.com" hmmm.... this is a tricky one. could be flash conflicting with a video driver. http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x86_181.20_whql.html

Reg please just ignore any conversation with computers in it, okay? As for Stang, I doubt its flash but its worth an update. http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ With a Quad and vista it should handle Norton easily in the background processes. It is a hog, but pretty effective. I use AVG free with Spybot search and destroy. I really couldn't help you being I'm not there to see whats happening. However try these, hold the windows key (usually between the ctrl and alt key) and then hit the letter "R" at the same time. should bring up "run" type in "CMD" this will bring up command. In the lovely ms dos command prompt. Type "ping www.gm.com" It should somthing like C:\Users\Desktop>ping www.gm.com Pinging a1073.g.akamai.net [204.2.249.65] with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 204.2.249.65: bytes=32 time=68ms TTL=52 Reply from 204.2.249.65: bytes=32 time=82ms TTL=52 Reply from 204.2.249.65: bytes=32 time=69ms TTL=52 Reply from 204.2.249.65: bytes=32 time=67ms TTL=52 Ping statistics for 204.2.249.65: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 67ms, Maximum = 82ms, Average = 71ms Do this a couple of time in a row. See where the % loss is? make sure its 0% every time. If it misses one then it will look a little like this C:\Users\God>ping www.gm.com Pinging a1073.g.akamai.net [8.21.193.58] with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 8.21.193.58: bytes=32 time=43ms TTL=56 Reply from 8.21.193.58: bytes=32 time=35ms TTL=56 Reply from 8.21.193.58: bytes=32 time=34ms TTL=56 Request timed out. Ping statistics for 8.21.193.58: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 3, Lost = 1 (25% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 34ms, Maximum = 43ms, Average = 37ms The reason for this is, I have seen where a NIC (network Interface Card) or modem or router have had a dieing port or broken port where the RJ45 network cable goes into. Even the cable could be bad. and it will cause the computer to miss packets of info which it needs to load a page. it can miss a couple and be sent back to you again and you can barley notice it however flash apps are bigger and if its not getting every packet the first time then its rather a pain and slow. Also next to the clock there are 2 computers with a picture of the earth. Does that ever show a Yellow Triangle? If you ISP is claiming 8.0 megabits a second that is aprox. 1 megabyte a second. from bits to byte divide by 8. your average download speed should be around 600-700 kilobytes which is damn fast. meaning James Gang Funk #49 witch is a 3:53 long song and is 4.5 Megabytes big should take about 6.5 seconds to download in a perfect world. If you have Dial-up which is 56 kilobits which is a max of 6 kilobytes a second that same song will take about 19:15 to download in a perfect world. Hopefully that makes sense. If its your ISP that causing your bog then call and complain and have them send out a tech for free. Reg, In the 2009 market place Vista runs excellent on any machine sold. However, if your machine is from lets say 2004? 2.6 ghz pentium 4 1 gig of ddr 250 hdd. Decent computer and still is. but Its for xp not vista. Vista is Next gen stuff ddr2-3 dual and quad cores 2.0ghz and up with more than 1mb of cache. Once you have this next gen stuff and its good not dual core celerons and semprons. you will find vista ran just as fast as XP did. Im sick of your anti vista bias in EVERY PC THREAD. Buy a mac and shut the f@#k up then. Macs run good because they have next gen stuff not because of OSX, seen a MB pro run vista? its amazing. They said a long time ago that vista was gonna go for a 3 year run because they were gonna change a lot of source code for vista but, that didn't happen. Its still off the Win2000 nt kernal like XP is. Don't quote me but Win 7 is supposed to have that source code change that vista was going to have. Windows 7 Should be more efficient and less memory intensive since its not XP running a demanding GUI (graphical user interface). I might be wrong because I'm not a pro but i know a little to be dangerous.

Circuit City to liquidate remaining US stores
capriceman replied to Intrepidation's topic in The Lounge
Damn there goes my favorite place to buy tires... At the macomb mall (Sears) there was this old guy that has been working there for years. He even remembered my name. -
All i can think of now is Old School with the regifted Bread maker.

I predict a Semi kensworth or Peterbuilt or Internationl. Big displacement, high horsepower, monster torque, 10 speed manual, Rear wheel drive, Tandum axel, 6 MPG, Oh yeah.... speaking of Internationals... Are Scouts going for a lot these days?
-
Camino GM many company's tried and it burnt them. Look at sky/solstice sales right now? The GTO? Aztec? SSR? XLR? Thunderbird? NSX? Insight? Crossfire? you can disagree but they all were predicted to be popular but im pretty sure all of them undersold.
-
ask and received... Sorry croc but it is optional. And blu still watch out i think he has warts on his hands now

whats your major Nos? casue you have to be CE/CS to get the free versions and normally some department head has to approve of it. other wise for students its like $60-90 a copy.

although its not a great example but, Impala - Monte Carlo The sedan got more sales. I'm sorry to all of you but "Big Car" companies have to settle at mediocrity, Its what sells to the masses. We are a special group that never wants to settle on the bland crap they put out but they can't specialize a car for each and everyone of us because overhead would be insane and just not practical. GM sells millions of cars so they do something right. I know you will say BMW, but there not average and don't come close in sales. Toyota the build blando-Sedans and they've done very well. GM can't afford to make all these niche cars and until coupes sell in masses they won't build um. I think the G6 sedan out sells the coupe and same with the cobalt as I see them on the roads more and i understand that's not the best measurement.

what happened to good old American piracy? Vista had a Russian 32/64 bit preactivated copy available the same week it came out and it still works after sp1. 6gb is good enough for anything trust me. Even in photoshop or NX3(cad) it would take some crazy big big big big files to use it all. I'm waiting for more scalable Sli/crossfire. The Green camps GTX 295 is pretty sweet and beats the Red Camps 4870 x2 but DX11.1 is comming December? So after that its next gen cards again. Ill uprgade from the 8800 ultra then maybe switch to I7 but Until then my quad core 45nm at 3.0 is kicking ass and taking names!!
