A Magna?

Read "All Corvettes are Red". During the 90s GM kept pumping money into the W-body program despite every one of the cars failing in the marketplace. The Corvette team hated them with a passion. Me: I've driven three of them - a 90 Lumina, a 00 Intrigue, and a 06 LaCrosse. The Olds and Chevy were owned by my dad, and are two of the most reliable cars he has ever owned. They are vault-like and unflappable on the road, and take whatever you throw at them. I don't have a hatred for the W-bods, and am actually fond of quite a few of them. However, since their demise means that Oshawa can retool for Zeta, I'll gladly attend any W-Body Retirement Party.

I hear that. I won't ever travel NYC by car. Hats off to anyone who does. But Carlisle should be cake...I don't know the area well, but I don't envision any big city issues there. Here you go - city-to-city directions from Brookville to Carlisle 1: Start out going EAST on MAIN ST / US-322 / PA-28 / TWENTY EIGHTH DIVISION HWY toward BARNETT ST. 1.1 miles 2: Turn SLIGHT LEFT onto ROUTE 28 N / PA-28. 1.1 miles 3: Merge onto I-80 E. 78.4 miles 4: Merge onto US-220 S via EXIT 161 toward US-322 / BELLEFONTE. 11.3 miles 5: Merge onto US-322 E via EXIT 73 toward STATE COLLEGE / LEWISTOWN. 45.0 miles 6: Take the PA-75 exit toward PORT ROYAL. 0.4 miles 7: Turn RIGHT onto PA-75 / INDUSTRIAL PARK RD. Continue to follow PA-75. 4.7 miles 8: Turn LEFT onto PA-74. 0.9 miles 9: Turn RIGHT to stay on PA-74. 0.2 miles 10: Turn LEFT to stay on PA-74. 7.9 miles Map 11: Turn RIGHT onto VETERANS WAY / PA-74. Continue to follow PA-74. 21.9 miles 12: Turn RIGHT onto N COLLEGE ST / PA-74. 0.5 miles 13: Turn LEFT onto W HIGH ST / US-11 / PA-641 / PA-74. 0.3 miles 14: Turn RIGHT onto S HANOVER ST / PA-34.

Have you ever gotten all the brush out of your grille and A/C condenser from that time you swerved off the road and into a field?

Viper: Road Trips are a rite of passage. Change your tires, then go on one. You will not regret it.

It's about 3.5 hours from Brookville to Carlisle (Thanks, Google Maps), though, with the way BV drives, probably could shave about an hour off that. I'm going to be there Friday parts-hunting with my dad and his friend. I don't think I'll have the time to meet anyone, since we're doing it in one day and it's about a five hour drive for me, but I do intend to be at the All-GM Nats with or without companions, and possibly the Corvette show in August. I want to stay overnight for both of those, so clear your schedules :D

Saw a Saturn S-Series with a hole in the R/R dor covered up by cardboard and duct-tape.

Good job, my friend. Anyone else here have the urge to make pig noises every time you see a new Tundra? Anyone? OK, never mind.

So, who's up for a GTO get-together at PCS's house? 8)

"Magic numbers" don't faze me, but I will pull back out like that if a good song comes on the radio as I'm pulling in the driveway. Hmmm...some quirks of mine: My pants pocket contents must be as follows left-front pocket - car keys, house/office keys, and pocket knife right-front pocket: USB thumb drives, cell phone, Chap-stick right-rear pocket: wallet When I'm home, all these things must be located on top of my desk. If anything is out of place at any time, I will go crazy. With my car, I'm extremely anal-retentive. To shut the trunk, I reach underneath the door, grab the emerency pull handle, and swing it down. This way I don't have to touch the paint. Before figuring out how to do this, I used to place my thumb on the lock cylinder. When I shut the car off, I have to have my radio set to XM 1 preset 1. I like to have my left and right windows open the same amount. I have to pull into a spot absolutely perfectly straight. If it's not parallel with the parking line, I pull it out and try again. of course, noone ever notices me do this because I park so far away.

I have no problem with immigration at all...I'm three generations removed from Mother Italy myself. But, like everything else, there's a legal way to do things and an illegal way to do things. The legal way needs to be clearly defined and made accessible to all potential immigrants, and punishment for taking the illegal route should be consistent for everyone. As of right now, neither of those things are being done in this country.

Well, since your Camino now needs a powertrain..... Think a Ramjet 502 could fit under there without resorting to an aftermarket hood? Great video! I'm grinning ear to ear.

I'm not sure how possible it is, but I'll give it a shot. I'll have to try the low fi version on my PDA...viewing the regular version is torture.

I suppose over time they will. As the riced ones eventually find their way into junkyards, pristine stock examples will become harder to find. Modified cars seldom fetch as much as their original counterparts. At an auction scenario I wouldn't pay $2K for a first gen Camaro with a metal flake paint job, tunnerl ram hood, roll cage, drag slicks, tubs, engine that's been Edelbrock-ed to death, and headers, but I'd donate various body parts for one that's close to original. Get my drift?

Those pics in front of the landromat remind me of your typical vintage 1950's-era ad or painting. Great shots. I gotta figure out how to take good pics like that. This is a most beautiful car. I love the white on it, and I'm not a fan of white in general.

Firm, very firm. I'd rather sleep on plywood than a soft mattress. Probably my worst sleeping experience in recent memory was a sleeper-sofa in a Country Inns & Suites in Cortland - it was ridiculously soft and impossible for me to get comfortable on. I felt like my butt was an inch off the floor. That'll teach me to be a nice guy and take the less-comfortable bed despite paying for the room. Anyone have any experience with memory foam? I'm thinking of splurging for it the next time my matress needs replacement, and I'll probably get the memory foam pillows next time I'm near a place that sells bedding.

Pretty much everything that's agreed upon so far, plus the Turbo Grand Prix

Friday night - Good Friday service, then probaly off to do something with some friends. Saturday - assuming no significant bad weather, riding 40 miles in preparation for the Montauk Century Sunday - some combination of eating, shoveling a ton of dirt, and hopefully washing the car. -
Congratulations, Sly. What a beautiful looking car. Almost makes up for the three Datsuns...almost Welcome to the "now I can die in peace" club.

I'll let you know when I sell this one...it's my first new car.
