Good price for a rare car that has all the hard work already completed. Would love to see what the engine bay looks like, though.

Chevrolet News:Return of RWD - Chevrolet Announces SS For 2013

I'd like to see how it looks, and a few things have to bounce in my favor, but yes! -
Chevrolet News:Return of RWD - Chevrolet Announces SS For 2013

Unless the camo is deceiving, it looks like it'll forego the "new" face of Chevy (Traverse, Impala) and keep the crossbar grille that's similar to the '13 Malibu. -
Chevrolet News:Return of RWD - Chevrolet Announces SS For 2013

I wonder how much an SS LTZ with an RS package would cost? I can't believe they ran with SS, but whatever. At least the Commodore is (officially) back in some form. -
Cadillac News: Rumorpile: Another Day, Another Omega Platform Rumor
z28luvr01 replied to William Maley's topic in Cadillac
I've always viewed this XTS as a transition vehicle, and the apparent three year lifespan planned for it confirms that.Though I do think the Epsilon XTS will do well, the world is ready for a rear-drive large Caddy. As for Sixteen vs Ciel, I vote Ciel all the way. -
Edmunds has the dealer trade-in on a loaded 09 Lucerne CXL to be about 17.7. Try getting him down to 17 and see if he blinks, but methinks 18 gets the deal done.
-
I'd go with the Lucerne. The LaCrosse is the superior car in every way, but the Lucerne is a great car, all stereotypes aside. 1) It gives you plenty of room, slightly more than the LaCrosse 2) The same fuel economy as the LaCrosse 3) Slightly higher mileage than the LaCrosse, but it very likely was babied its entire life, given the demographic that it caters to 4) Cheaper to purchase. Given your job situation, you could take the 10K and have most of the car paid off.

1) Take it off, remove the rust, and touch up the bare metal parts. The rust doesn't look bad at all. Looks like it might come off with some cleaner/wax or some compound 2) get an SS molding and have it painted to match 3) install SS molding alternatively, replace steps 2 and 3 with 2) remove clips 3) get some silicone adhesive and put a bead around each clip hole 4) get some 3M double-sided tape and apply in between the clip holes 5) affix your original molding to the tape/glue

Chevrolet News:Did OnStar Accidently Confirm An SS Model In 2014?
z28luvr01 replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
The only one i san see out of those making any sense is Bel Air. Even GM isn't stupid enough to trip over its own history and give a Buick, Olds, or Pontiac name to a Chevy, especially the storied ones like you mentioned. Given that the car is a cousin of the Caprice, Bel Air is appropriate from a historical perspective. Whether or not it belongs on a performance-themed sedan is up for debate, but I'd be for it. -
Cheers or Jeers: Custom 1957 Chevrolet Corvette

Whoever did this deserves to have a Honda Crosstour dropped on them. Don't mess with perfection. -
Full-sized crew cab pickups sacrifice bed space for the sake of a roomier cabin. The Avalanche makes no such sacrifice. If you've lived with one even for a short time you know they're uber useful. It's also IMO the best looking of the GMT900s.

GM News: GM’s Underdog Zeta Platform is Still a Relevant Player
z28luvr01 replied to Blake Noble's topic in General Motors
I could see Zeta be put to use as a platform for unibody trucks and crossovers. It's already been done with the Ute, and further teased with the Denali XT. Something in the vein of the original SRX would be an interesting option at any of the four GMNA brands. -
I would say yes. With the amount of base trucks that are sold to fleets, having a 20+mpg engine option would put a serious dent in GM's efforts to meet CAFE requirements. I bet an engine like this would still be a little torque monster, making it perfect for a Silverado/Sierra destined for work truck duty. Having an inline 4 in a full-sized engine bay would make maintenance tasks a relative breeze.

New York 2012: SRT Viper: Comments

Gorgeous! In the front you can definitely see the Italian influence. Interior is amazing. This raises the bar big time for the C7. -
Great job grifting the rear-end from the last-gen Azera and the front from the current Sonata hybrid! Next please

Looks like Dayton International Airport (DAY) is the closest one to Springfield OH. It's about 19 miles away. From a quick check of their arrival schedule, most of the major airlines fly there.
-
Do you need a back seat? If not, I'm sure a C5 Corvette could be had in that price range, maybe even in convertible form.

10 seconds later.... There's probably an option in the camera set up to turn off the date stamp. I never use them, because I could always find out when it was taken by viewing the file properties

Honda News: Rumorpile: Honda/Acura To Use A 9-Speed Automatic
z28luvr01 replied to William Maley's topic in Honda
That's still nine less than what I have on my road bike, and fifteen less than on my mountain bike. Get with the times, Honda. -
Sounds like it could be bad U-joints with that kind of age and mileage. Jack the truck up with the rear wheels in the air (in 2WD mode of course, and put it in drive. If it's the U-joints you'll probably hear some sort of squeak coming from the driveshaft. They're easy and cheap to replace. That was a really nice thing you did for your dad.
