  1. I hope you're in a giving mood, because if GM goes bankrupt, you and every other American will be writing a check to Uncle Sam to cover all GM's liabilities. You don't have to be a fan of GM, but the cost of allowing it to die is simply too great to allow to happen.
  2. Done. 'Twas easier to change the master stylesheet for each skin than to resize and rearrange each header.
  3. http://www.camaroz28.com/forums/showthread.php?t=648766 A very good read. If you think GM's irrelevant, you better think again.
  4. As much as I hate to say it (I'd give certain body parts for a Camaro convertible), but there are bigger issues right now. I'd rather wait and see if GM finishes out the year before I complain about having to wait longer to own a drop top Camaro.
  5. I may be paranoid, but I'm convinced that this country is headed for a collapse somewhere in my lifetime. The greed and selfishness that has permeated our culture will finally get the best of us. Either we'll be overtaken by a Middle Eastern or Asian nation, or we'll see the current form of government overthrown and replaced by...um...something else, and we won't have the resources to do anything about it. Again, this may be paranoia, but I can't things getting any better if we stick to the status quo. Not to put any pressure on the new guy, but if things don't get much better in the next Presidency, watch out.* * - This isn't intended to be a dig at our next president. I'd say the same thing if the other guy won.
  6. How about this recipe? 1) Take the EFI 350 from the Mothertruck and drop it in the Camino 2) Get a Duramax, or some other GM diesel, and drop it in the Mothertruck. 3) Fix the Camino up as intended. 4) Fix the Mothertruck up as a "decent driver" 5) Sell the Silverado and use the Mothertruck as your workhorse.
  7. Post of the Year candidate?
  8. Does it have to be a car? How about a 2WD S10 or S10 Blazer? Non 4x4 versions can be had for a song, and they're pretty easy to fix. Those can serve both your purposes and give about the same MPGs as any of the older cars in your initial post.
  9. I'm so terribly sorry, B. Your father sounds like a great man, and I'm sure he's proud of you. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. If you need anything, let me know.
  10. I'm so sorry Borger. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
  11. Am I missing something? Does metal cost more if it's shaped into a good looking car?
  12. Yeah, some advice for anyone who didn't go vote yet but is going to - bring a chair. I'm OK with that because it shows people apparently are taking interest in this country and its future. I think the last time, more people voted for American Idol than for the president.
  13. Looks right at home as a Daewoo.
  14. Clowns usually prefer to stuff themselves in a tiny car, like this fine example from our friends at Opel: Back to the G8, I agree on the lower fascia - it's a bit much. I do like the nostrils, though.
  15. It wouldn't bother me, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't give her a hard time about it every chance I got, jokingly of course.
  16. He had to, because I think I did
  17. Nice, really nice. You did an aazing job detaling the engine compartment. Congratulations, Camino.
  18. Buick News November 1, 2008~ Some news bits are trickling in about a couple of future tri-sheilds. Firstly, Autoblog has spilled some of the beans on the next-gen LaCrosse. Engine options will include a 290hp version of the Direct Injection 3.6L V6 and an all-new 3.0L DI V6 that should be good for 240hp and around 30mpg. Other options certain to make their way into the LaCrosse include HID headlamps, a heads-up display, rear view camera and all-wheel-drive. Secondly, GM appears to be putting the finishing touches on the Opel Insignia-based Buick Regal. Thoigh it's not slated to come to the US, the Regal certainly does look the part of the LaCrosse's half-brother, and should do well in the Chinese marketplace. Details on Next-Gen LaCrosse GM Staff Checking Over the Regal --- Camaro Order Update ~October 28, 2008~ Despite high gas prices, a terrible economy, and a giant axe hanging over its head, the Camaro proves that sometimes, just building a fantastic no compromises car is enough. As of this writing, some 6,000 Camaros have been sold, and a whopping 84% of buyers are opting for the SS V8. Not bad at all considering the circumstances. Naturally, we at C&G are pulling hard for the Camaro, that it proves that sometimes, swimming against the tide is the thing to do. Camaro Order Update
  19. So in order to build Enclaves to better suite buyer tastes, they need to offer fewer options/packages? oooh kaaaaay
  20. I think the Cruze's name will be pretty stale by 1994.
  21. Happy Birthday, Ven
  22. You can't just enjoy the increased speed, can you? It's due to an incompatibility between the portal software and the new version of IPB. There's a newer version of the portal out there, but I didn't bother because the upgrade is more involved than I bargained for, and I'm planning to roll out a different portal hopefully by the end of next week, complete with adjusted skins. PCS: thanks a lot.
  23. To clarify my position a bit, I'm OK with this G8 dying in five years, as that's a perfectly acceptable model cycle. The point of contention is whether Pontiac will be allowed to have a suitable replacement.
