I'd consider leaving the Vibe home. The whole "built by Toyota" thing may come back to bite them.

You know what, they should, so Congress can see in person the car that drives every bit as good as a 550i yet gets better gas mileage and costs a lot less.

DC or Bust!! November 24, 2008 Word has it that when the Big 3 CEOs return to Washington to plead their case for a $25B loan, they will do so not via private jet, or by commercial jet, or bus, or taxi, or bicycle, or hitchhiking. They'll arrive via a caravan of Detroit's best, brightest, and most fuel efficient vehicles. There will be many stops along the way to generate support and interest in the Big 3 and its products, which sadly seems to be nearly nonexistent these days. This sounds like a great idea, especially since it was mentioned here last week. Just goes to show that, even in troubled times such as these, the folks at GM still check out places like C&G for some fresh ideas. Hey, we're more than glad to do our part, and we hope GM knows that, through thick and thin, we'll always be in their corner. Big 3 to Bring Caravan of Vehicles to DC Hey Rick, Get in the Car!

Tee hee. Wonder where they got this idea from....

[/ A 290hp big block in a mid-seventies car. Arguably the most rebellious thing Pontiac's ever done. And if Pontiac is ever to be relevant again, the attitude that made this car needs to be present in whatever they decide to sell.

Remember my Saab 9-3 Aero Convertible test drive from the end of August? Well, it was spurred on by me receiving a coupon in Bicycling Magazine that promised a free bike jersey if I test drove a Saab and got the coupon filled out. It finally came in the mail yesterday: For the record, build quality is excellent with use of high-quality materials throughout. It supposedly goes for $100, but I got it for 15 minutes of seat time in a Saab.

How Collectible will the C5 and C6 Corvette be?
z28luvr01 replied to A Horse With No Name's topic in Chevrolet
To bring the thread back on topic, all Corvettes will eventually obtain some sort of collector status. I'd have never though that the detuned 73-82 models would ever amount to anything, but they are. People are buying them up and restifying them as a consolation prize for not being able to land a 68-72, and their values are going up, up, up. So give it time, and I think you'll see the C4-C6 reach collector status. -
Why do I get the feeling that someone would still find something to bitch about if these guys dressed in tattered rags and hitchhiked their way to DC? This is mudslinging and below-the-belt politics at work. We're dealing witht he same group of people that gave (not lent) $700B to the banks that caused this whole mess, and didn't require any justification.

Is there enough slack for you to lower the tanks to do what you need to do? I'm not sure how the crew cab is, but my dad converted his '83 Silvy to TBI and used OEM style fuel pumps in the tanks. I know he didn't lift the bed off when he did it.
-
Nah, you have to lift it straight up to clear the tires, then slide it back. A Gantry crane would be ideal.

Let them go to their own government.

http://www.cnn.com/2008/TECH/11/19/chainle...s.ap/index.html This is interesting, though I personally have very few problems with any of my chains. Couple this with Shimano's new electronic shifters/derailleurs, and you have a bike that's virtually maintenance free.

Well, I guess this means I was wrong in saying that we'd see a new VH album before Chinese Democracy. I've heard the single on XM, and I can't say I'm totally wowed. But I've never been that much of a GnR fan to begin with.

You should be good to go now. That might not be a bad idea
-
Bottom of the page - on the left hand side, there should be a selector for the skin. Pick whichever one you like. PS - I'm up to Pontiac now, and I'm calling it a night.
-
Over the next couple of days I'll be uploading new skin graphics and messing around with color schemes. If you see things look a little weird, that's just me.

Opel To GM: Don't Touch Our Bailout Money
z28luvr01 replied to Oracle of Delphi's topic in General Motors
Psst...if GM goes under, so you you, Opel. Never bite the hand that feeds you. Can't say I blame Opel for their position, but they just bit off a pretty big chunk of GM's hand right there. -
Getting off your ass is officially a thing of the past. I heard on the radio today that you'll soon be able to order a pizza from Dominos through your TV. http://blog.wired.com/business/2008/07/tivo-to-cash-in.html It's amazing that we put so much effort into trying to do less.

What album(s) are those Megadeth songs on? I love the lyrics of "Washington is Next".

Is that rear window opening the same as the one on the regular cab? If so, they do repro the sliding rear window for the 73-87 pickups for about $150.

GM spent the current decade correcting the mistakes of the last two: - Downsizing workforce - Shedding excess capacity and making the plants they kept more efficient. - Getting the UAW to make concessions in the first place - Redirected money back into cars - Re-established the importance of design I believe it's a loan GM's asking for, not a bailout, and I don't think it'll be used for executive bonuses - I don't think the Fed will allow it. Let me ask this: what would you want GM to do with the $25B if they got it?
-
Yes, later Euros did come with the 3.4L, but HP was down a bit as it only came with the automatic. Your Lumina looks nice in those photos - brings back a lot of memories. My dad had a '90 Euro 3.1 that I learned to drive on. It gave him no trouble at all for the four years he owned it. I think it had wel over 200K miles on it when the guy my dad sold it to wrecked it.

We'll be pulling C&G into the bay for a wash, clay, and wax. Please try to be offline by 9:00PM. Thanks.

BREAKING NEWS: Bailout Update ~November 20, 2008~ The US government has postponed the vote on a potential aid package for GM, Ford and Chrysler, in order to give them enough time to come up with a plan for using the money. THe vote will occur sometime in December. Big 3 Bailout News --- GM Needs Your Help ~November 16, 2008 During World War II, when America needed all the help it could get building war machinery to help fight off the Axis Powers, GM stepped up to the plate and offered its factories and workers to support the war effort. When 9/11 occured and sent the American economy and consumer confidence into a tailspin, GM again answered the call, offering killer incentives and financing deals to entice people to buy new cars and keep things from getting worse. Time and time again, GM has done its part to keep America rolling. Now it's America's turn to return the favor and keep GM rolling, as the country's largest auto manufacturer is in dire straits and might not make it without outside help. Hard to believe, but our current administration just doesn't see the importance of GM, or the American auto industry for that matter. Apparently the potential collapse of the American economy isn't enough to get them to care. Do you want to give GM a hand, but don't quite have enough dough scraped together for a new car? No problem. Just click the link below to be taken to a form that will allow you to send a letter to your local congressman.
