  1. SAAB Files for Bankruptcy The first shoe has dropped, as Swedish automaker SAAB has filed for bankruptcy protection as GM tries to either sell it or spin it off. Click the link below to get the full scoop and discuss. SAAB Files for Bankruptcy

  3. LI is a cesspool as far as radio stations go. Unless you like top 40 or classic rock, you're left wanting more.
  4. Bob Lutz to Retire at the End of 2009 GM today announced that Bob Lutz will step down at the end of 2009. Starting April 1st, he will transfer into a new role as Vice Chairman and Senior Adviser. His replacement, at least for the time being, will be Thomas Stephens, who is currently serving as GM’s Executive Vice President, Global Powertrain and Global Quality. We at C&G wish to thank Mr. Lutz for all he as done for GM. Nearly all that is positive about GM these days is somehow his doing. The new Malibu, the LaCrosse, the Kappa cars, the Volt, the Camaro - all his. His quotes kept us energized and entertained. Bob, you will be missed.
  5. Well, there is a wildcard in that it'l be sold worldwide. It's going to Australia and will probably be sent to Europe as well. 100,000 units worldwide probably isn't that much of a stretch.
  6. I'm glad you're OK, Cory.
  7. I propose a shotgun wedding, with Camino holding the shotgun.
  8. I don't think they're any better or worse than any of the other GMT360s, mechanically speaking. Not sure if they had AutoTrac AWD or if they had 4x4 like the others. Just make sure any example you look at has all the recall-related work done to it. There were a lot of recalls pertaining to the GMT360s early on.
  9. I smell something fishy, and it isn't fish. It looks like they're showing the fully-loaded model's MSRP as the "was" price, yet offering the stripper model for the "now" price.
  10. I know theyve been around a while, but some of them still give me a good laugh. I thought of one for you yesterday, Sly, while I was riding at lunch: "Chuck Noris once stared at a woman for ten seconds. Nine months later she gave birth to septuplets."
  11. It's a nice car, IMO. When it came out, it was a better car than the competition. Unfortunately, time has passed it by, and the "refresh" does nothing for it. Combining Kappa and the Y body makes even more sense now that the Corvette doesn't have a platform mate.
  12. The red SS badge denotes an SS with the RS appearance package. Regular SS Camaros get silver SS badges.
  13. C&G Goes VPS Well, this was a fun three days. To make a long story short, Bluehost kicked us off their shared server on Wednesday, which left us scrambling to save C&G's files and find a new host. We decided it was time for C&G to graduate to Virtual Private Server hosting. So here we are, in our new digs. Here's to a future with no more "CPU Quota Exceeded" messages. C&G Goes VPS
  14. He bought a 1985 Ford Escort for $75. It died before he could get it home.

  16. That's what my car sounded like when it started this morning. Here's why:
  17. the ones with the full removable top get a special plus for being both fun and useful But they're all beautiful. This one is quite a honey - probably my favorite paint scheme used on the 73-87 trucks. I have a soft spot for the 2 drs, since I did have one for five years. They generally sucked from the factory, but the possibilites are limitless as to what you could do with them via the aftermarket.
  18. Based on what's being said about Pontiac and Saturn, the left hand still doesn't know what the right hand is doing at GM.
  19. It's Official: GM to Shrink to Four Brands ~January 12, 2009~ GMNA President Troy Clare, in an interview with Automiotive News, has said that GM will make good on its promise to Congress to drastically cut costs. The company will focus its efforts on Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, and GMC. Fans of Pontiac, Saab, and HUMMER should probably start worrying now. GM to Shrink to Four Brands
  20. Someday when I have grandkids I'll be able to tell them I sat in a car that never existed.
  21. 2010 Buick LaCrosse Revealed ~January 8, 2009~ Image Courtesy of Autoblog GM took the wraps off the production 2010 Buick LaCrosse. Little appears to have changed from the Invicta concept that was shown last year at Beijing. With not much good news emanating from Camp GM these days, it's somewhat refreshing to see that they still can build a drop-dead gorgeous car that's got the goods to blow the doors off the competition. 2010 Buick LaCrosse: Official Photos
  22. This is sad. I'm very sorry, Camino. This is a boneheaded decision, worse than the Beretta convertible fiasco. GM could've changed the rules for the small pickup truck game for very little cost to them, but they chose to cower out.
