  1. Nice car! And you did the enthusiast community by saving it from being clunked for a new Hyundai.
  2. Body/paint looks great. Hopefully the interior isn't that bad: clicky Probably worth it depending on how low he'll go.
  3. I haven't driven it, but I've been in a previous-gen (02-08) Corolla. What a pile. The doors felt tinny, the interior could only hope to be called "cheap", and the engine...oh that engine. It was loud and coarse, and that was before you hit the gas pedal.
  4. Islander fans like myself automatically cringe every time we hear the term "fish sticks". Here's why: Haven't had a set of fish sticks in a while though. I might try oblu's homemade sticks idea - at least they won't be loaded with salt. What type of fish would you use?
  5. Happy Birthday 98. Enjoy your day.
  6. Hopefully he doesn't sprain his wrist patting himself on the back.
  7. BMW > Caddy > Lincoln > Lexus > Mercedes
  8. Take it down and burn it, says the Yankee fan.
  9. I agree with everyone's comments so far.I love it in person. Pics really do not do it justice. The MPG figures are a bit of a disappoiontment - I was hoping for it to be closer to 30MPG. Though this car does blow the 05-09 LaX out of the water, I don't hate thte 05-09. The CXS I had as a rental was a pretty competent car if you looked at it in a vacuum. The leather seats were very comfortable, it accelerated and handled very well, and had a vault-like quality to it. Overall it's probably the second best W body, with the Intrigue being #1. It has the distinction of being the only rental car I ever washed.
  10. What's a music video?
  11. That may have been the original intention for Zeta - to be a home for the Monte Carlo or possibly a Chevelle. But it was later decided that making it into a Camaro would be the car's best chance of selling. Given the fact that everyone in GM works for Fritz, the closest thing we'll ever get to a modern day G body is a production version of the Opel GTC concept.
  12. I learned that the hard way with a large pork chop a couple of weeks ago. I asked for it medium well (the way I usually like my red meat) and it came out tasting like an old shoe sole. If not for the marmalade that came on the side I'd still be trying to finish it. Usually I like my red meat mostly grey with some pink.
  13. High School Never Ends!!! j/k...I have nothing useful to add to this discussion.

    GH: VH

All eras of VH should be represented (yes, even a couple of Gary Cherone songs) and their images included, but I'm seeing this, more than anything else, a vehicle to prmote and generate interest in the current iteration of the band. For fans who have been waiting for some new music, this is a good thing. No way would EVH sign on to be included in a video game with Dave if he wasn't interested in continuing VH with him. I would like to see them bury the hatchet with Sammy and Mike, regardless of what happens with Van Halen.

  16. Nice condition. At least this guy resisted the urge to clunk it. clicky
  17. I take a laptop, but never for work. I mainly use it to dump the pics from my digital camera and find local restaurants/attractions in a pinch. When I go away in September, I'll have a smartphone and a 4GB SD card in the digi, so the LT might just stay home.
  18. I once vacationed at a hotel WITHOUT wireless internet. I can see where you're coming from, Camino. Sometimes being a cog in the machine can get to you. Sometimes the cog needs a break, but the inertia of the rest of the machine forces the cog to keep moving against its will because it "needs" to or "is expected to". Before you unload the wagon, fill it with a few changes of clothing, find a sitter for the dogs, and head to a remote location for a few days. Forget this place, forget GM and the air of suckitude that surrounds the automotive industry, and *live* for a few days.

    Jeep Patriot

Not really. All I can say about it is, "At least it's not a Compass." It has shortcomings, but it's a Jeep. That's pretty much the same thing you can say about all Jeeps.
  20. Crap - another Mopar owner as an admin. If you can find a better site, visit it.
  21. Check the MPG figures on the new LaCrosse (and all the other V6 Epsilon cars) that supposedly have better fuel efficidency than the gas hog Zeta. They're pretty much equal. Plus, next year the Commodore gets the 3.0L DI and 3.6L DI as engine options. Both of which should make it the most efficient V6 midsizer that GM offers.
  22. Great find, YJ. It doesn't need that much to make it showroom. I just have a question about the interior - wasn't the dash/console trim a glossy black on the SS? I've never seen an example with the woodgrain. Maybe that was just for the later years. Lots of luck with the restore, and of course, post lots of pics.
  23. Thanks, guys.
  24. I'll bet he's just trying out what he learned in Salesman 101. Good that you walked away. Keep an eye on the lot for the next few days and see if the car goes, or even if it moves from where it is now. If it's still there, go back in and lowball him.
  25. Z-06 says a lot of things, but he works for me.
