You probably can make 2 into 1. The driver's seat motor assembly should be entirely contained on the track. As long as the two seats (specifically, the plastic trims) are the same color, you can probably swap over the button too.

Remember when everyone thought the tri-five Chevies would never be worth anything? Millions of these so-called worthless cars were sent to the crusher by people who didn't know any better, to the point that the surviving examples will fetch some $$$. The same thing is happening right now with the Colonnade cars and the C3s of the same era. There's no evidence to suggest that the same thing won't happen to non-Impala SS B bodies. All it takes is one rich guy at Barrett Jackson....

If you can already tell the body work is poor, that right there should tell you to walk away, especially if you're expecting this to be your daily driver. Who knows how well the work he did is going to hold up - you could end up doing it all over again. Even to just do the paint over again would cost you more than what this car is worth. And that's not even taking into account the engine - as o'blu hinted at the brown on the rear bumper near the tailpipe is an indicator of a poorly running engine. Best case scenario is it needs a good tune up, but more likely its worse than that. Save your pennies and buy a better example.

If only carriers would align their contract terms with the shelf life of the phone. Every phone I've ever had limps through the last 6-12 months of a two year contract, dropping calls and delaying or not sending text messages or voicemails. Pretty sure my next setup is going to be a Droid something on Verizon when my contract with ATT runs out in April.

More pics in my Facebook Album. Gonna finally put some in the C&G Garage tonight.

It's been a little over a month, and I've pretty much unpimped it: No more vinyl stripes The silver console and sill plates were put back to a color that better matches the inside The various chips/scratches were touched up and in some cases sanded down and buffed so they are less visible No more ventshades popped out some dents on the bed I *think* I finally got rid of the smoke smell. I think this weekend might be a good time for another photo shoot I've filled it up twice, and in pure city driving I'm getting around 17.5mpg. I'd like to see that number a little higher. At some point I'll change the gas filter and clean the injectors as I'm sure neither of those were ever done. Last weekend I changed the serpentine belt, as it was still sporting the original belt in all its dry-rotted and stretched glory. It was so bad that the tensioner started flopping around and making ticking sounds that I swore was the PS pump. I'm also gonna order an under hood blanket. 04-09 Colorados had provisions for one but never came with one from the factory, and even then only V8s apparently got them. Lots of other mini-mods are on the agenda. But even in its current state, the truck gets a lot of attention. People are disappointed when I don't show up with it.

I actually like it because it's not another attempt to copy the Asian competition. It's a Chevy inside, love it or hate it. Reminds me quite a bit of this: Hey, as long as the build quality is good and everything lines up nice, I don't see how the '12 Malibu's interior will kill the car.

As much as I hate to say it, this looks better than a Cobalt coupe. The trunk opening on the Cobalt is so small that it's hard to access the surprisingly huge trunk. It really should have been a hatchback anyway. The car in this chop simultaneously looks mature and sporty, and makes the sedan look terrible. It could stand some tweaking of the quarter window, but I'd gladly take it as is. All I need is some fishing line and some Goo Gone to remove the CRUZE badges from it. I still hate that name.

Really nice!

Ignoring facts will get you nowhere: The LT1 in the B-bodies got 260hp. The LT1 in the F-bodies got 275hp. The LT1 in the Corvette got 300hp. Lesser trim Cadillacs got a 275hp version of the Northstar. If you want to exclude the 300hp LT1 from this argument, I'm fine with that, as long as you also exclude the 300hp Northstar. The fact is, it's basically a wash between the LT1 and Northstar. I'll add that the LT1 has a pretty high ceiling. The 330hp LT4 of 1996 was a LT1 with a different head design. And, using parts available from GM, my father is building one up that should be good for 465hp, not that that's entirely relevant. I'm not necessarily dismissing DOHC engines, but you're dead wrong on the pushrod engine. And the fact is, not everyone who buys a European sports sedan agress with you. Consider: <param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gczqFptxtA?fs=1&hl=en_US">

The Northstar won't fit in a CTS. That's why the CTS-V got the LS6 in the first place.

The '09 S550 gets 14/22. a 22% improvement would be 15/24. That's still less than a Camaro SS for similar performance. But Mercedes is Mercedes and Chevy is Chevy, so Mercedes wins.
-
Underneath the hood of a Camaro SS or Corvette I'm not sure if this is true on the GXP, but on the base G8 the V8 was based off the Vortec V8s in the trucks, not from the Corvette. Same architecture, I know, but there are differences. Every time there's an argument for the GM small block's efficiency, you bring up the G8 GXP. That's like assuming all BMW inline sixes are as efficient as the one in the X5. Really, are you sure that Bentley and Rolls aren't second tier luxury brands that compete with Lincoln and Acura because they didn't put enough technology into the engine? I wonder how many people left a Bentley showroom in disgust after finding out the car they wanted didn't have DOHC.

I hear these are awesome drivers and very fuel efficient.

G8 V6? Or maybe a 1st gen CTS or STS.
-
Well, I know it was (and still is) used in the Dakota, Ram, and Grand Cherokee from the turn of the decade until now. I can't find much in the way off issues/complaints with it.

It was fair given the truck's condition. Not necessarily a good deal, but I didn't get ripped off. While cleaning the inside I discovered that I needed a rug. He misplaced the front floor pats and didn't bother replacing them, and he wore a hole through the rug. Also, he apparently spilled some bleach underneath the left rear floormat. So that's $200 I wasn't expecting ($300 if you include a new set of GM all weather floor mats). I did manage to get the console out without issue. The silver paint adhered to it very well, so I think I'm just gonna scuff it a bit, prime it, and paint it with the correct color vinyl interior paint.

Well, it's the morning after I get it into my garage for the first time. I kept it at my parents' house until I got it registered. The cheap vinyl is already gone. Pics The 3.5L has a different sound to it. It reminds me a bit of the 4.0L I6 that Jeep used to use, and that's not entirely a bad thing. It's very torquey, and without the 4WD system to weigh it down, it's more than enough power. I'd love to do an intake/exhaust on it, but right now I need to focus on what's ahead of me, namely cleaning the interior getting the console back to its original finish cleaning the interior washing/claying/waxing the exterior cleaning the interior touching up the various chips/scratches replacing the front bumper (cracked) cleaning the interior

My search for a truck is over as of an hour ago. Just brought it home. Better pics will come tomorrow, so for now, here's the pics from the craigslist ad: THe skinny: 2005 Colorado Xtreme extended cab yellow w/black cloth interior 66K miles 3.5L I5 full power accessories 6 disc changer (factory) sunroof I'm leaving work early to get it registered and begin what will be a long process of cleaning it and undoing the tacky mods that the owner did, which at least is only really gonna cost some elbow grease.

Glad you're back NOS. That's some story. I'm happy you survived that. I've always had a soft spot for the 9-3, especially the 08+ models. Very underappreciated vehicle. Hope you find one.

Better think fast - I can totally see Sixty8 doing 130mph down I-95 so he can buy it out from under you.
-
Honestly it's worth the cost of coming up here and getting it, or having it shipped. It probably has the 4.3L V6, since I believe all the LT1-based engines got the same triangular engine cover/air cleaner. Not a big deal really. In fleet duty they lasted as long as the LT1 - my father used to make his living fixing them. He's in Suffolk County, which means he can't be more than an hour from me. I'll take a look if you think you can swing it.
