That old EuroAccord looks almost like a Holden Commodore

Welcome to the Cobalt family, my friend. The blue granite color is awesome.I see you splurged for XM. How do you like it so far?

THen, right after that sentence, they say this: That one made me laugh.

Take a look at this. Mustang fans, Mopar fans, even import fans are crapping their pants over this unfinished clay mockup of a Camaro. Aside from the true loyalists (Mustang or Camaro), most buyers are going to just go with the better car. Now if this kind of reaction is coming from "loyalists" (wherever their loyalties may lie), that really says something about how this car will do once it comes out, whenever that is. I'm fully confident that when the Camaro returns, the Mustang will be relegated to "chick car" status, like it's been for much of the time there's been a Camaro for sale at a Chevy dealership.

So should we get used to the lineup that GM has now, since t'll be around for a long time? This news really sucks.
-
Wonder if this news has anything to do with this.

Part of the problem is that the LS1Tech logo obscures your modifications. Why not try using NOS's cleaned-up version from the other thread as a beter baseline, or the one on the Camaroz28.com homepage, which has no logoin the center. The face actually has promise, it's just that it needs better integration into the body. Also, the sweeps should probably level off and run parallel to the beltline. Sweeps that curve downward are more of a Monte Carlo thing. In any case, now I know I want a red one B)

yes I did....I'm so pathetic :P

Well, I lasted a day trying to keep myself honest and wait 'till the 8th. Naturally that didn't happen. Thank you Fbodfather. I don't know you well, and we've never conversed, but I've read your posts on here and on CZ28 and suffice to say I'm grateful for all you've done for the Camaro and all it's fans. If not for you, I'd probably have expunged the word "Camaro" from my vocabulary years ago. Its death (as well as the Firebird's) was one unbefitting of a car of such legendary status, yet you've given us reason to believe that we'd have our day in the sun again. If the Camaro had to die so that a car like this could be produced, then I'm now OK with it. I'm now glad GMNA said no when Holden offered them the Monaro as a Camaro replacement. This makes a much better Camaro. I'm as giddy now as I was in the late 80s when my dad was restoring a wrecked 1986 Firebird and Iroc. He sold both (though he thought about keeping the Iroc), and I've longed to own a F-body ever since. You don't know what this means to me, that I'll once again be able to buy one. Just promise me one thing: I'm 5'4" and found driving (or finding a comfortable seating position) impossible in the 4th gen. Promise me that my vertically challenged frame will have no such difficulties in this new car. In any case, NYIAS is a certainty for my father and me now. I'd love to ge tthe chance to meet you and personally thank you for all you've done. If anyone needs me, I'll be camping out at my local Chevy dealership waiting for this thing to arrive.

This is good news. Only thing is, I hope things like the 6spd auto and hybrid powertrains get pushed ahead along with it.
-
Not to mention, it drives grate, and the cruse control works. Go for it Sly!

I'm with you TJ. I've always felt the stuff post-Issues was rather weak and not up to their standards. I do like the "Twisted Transistor" single, though. I'll probably obtain it via iTunes, so I don't have to buy any songs I don't like.

I think it all depends on whatthey do with Buick....the LaCrosse in particular. All indications (from you - griff - and others) are that they're keeping the LaX and moving it to EpII for the next generation. In the B-P-G conglomeration, that would make the G6 redundant...at least the sedan anyway. So let the people who want a front wheel drive car have the LaX, and make the G6 coupe/sedan/vert RWD....the coupe/vert can be the GTO, and let the sedan be called G6, or maybe bring back Grand Am since Pontiac's latest attempt at alphanumerics has failed miserably.

Happy Birthday BV. A couple of random Pontiacs for you: Whoa, how'd that get in there? :P Uhh Satty. You did remember to give NOS some food to sustain himself while he's stuck inside the cake, right? I mean, we don't want BV's present smelling bad or anything.

It will probably won't have the Skyline name if it's going to Infiniti. it might just be called GT-R, or it'll follow the (letter)(digit)(digit) pattern that all other Infiniti cars follow.

I like the look of the two-toned interior as well. I think the colors on the door panels should be swapped (gray on top, tan on bottom), but it does bring out the design nicely. Some color coordinated materials (think GTO) would definitely help.
-
IIRC, you were seriously considering a Maxx, and with the pretty decent red tag prices on them, I'll say you went with it. My second guess would be an Impala.
-
What Camaro pic? Chevy doesn't make a Camaro. Geez, I'm starting to worry about some of you guys.

The GP suffers from GM Center Stack Disease, usually characterized by a huge mass of cheap hollow plastic containing unsubstantial switchgear that doesn't integrate well with the dash or center console at all. Croc s right. From a build quality perspective the 2006 Impala blows the GP away. However, I did appreciate the design when I sat in it. Like it or not, it's vintage Pontiac. The cockpit is very driver oriented though...everything is right where he needs it. I really could live with it if I had to.

Numbers don't tell the whole story. The TL's driving dynamics are far inferior to even the Grand Prix GTP, never mind the CTS. Way too much torque steer on the TL for it to be thought of in the same vein as the CTS.
-
This is great news...they're not gonna let it wither on the vine for ten years after all. Hopefully they address the complaints about the interior bits, and give it some more power across the board to keep it ahead of the pack.

I want my car to be a convertible. I think a drop-top Cobalt would be downright sexy. As far as obtainable mods, I think the body kit and wheels from the 2.4L SS would be nice, and I'd like to pull another 30-40hp out of my 2.2 without resorting to supercharging.

ocn, I'm so sorry man. Pets bring so much joy into your life, giving you unconditional love no matter what. My sister's friend had a really cool bumper sticker that pretty much said "My goal in life is to be the person my dog thinks I am." When they go, it's like losing a close family member. Take care of yourself, Meggie gave you fiften years of memories...hold onto them. If you want to talk, you know where I am.

Happy Birthday sciguy. :)
