Yeah, I meant the car harnesses. This one will probably work for a black lab...at least when she gets fully grown. They hold the dog so that she can only sit face forward on the seat, and they hook right up to the shoulder harness. Those training collars, as mean as they look, are actually not that bad. Instead of choking the dog, they just press on the pressure points around the neck, which gets him/her to stop without doing any damage to the esophagus.

Get one of these, then get one of these. That should help for the most part. When I take my dog out, I now just have to worry about her leaving snot on the passenger's side window.

Lots of good thoughts here. I'll add a couple more: Too much hardware. The have way too many engines, transmissions, and platforms. Whle the consolidation of platforms (and transmissions, to a lesser extent) is happening across the globe, surrely GM could reduce the number of engines it has and still be competitive globally: Why have different block sizes for the same engine family? The imports (especially Nissan) handle this well: changing the top half of the engine to bring about various performance levels. While we're at it, GM should commit to buiding world class OHV engines or building world class OHC engines, but not both. I'm not gonna argue OHV or OHC here, but keeping one and throwing away the other simplifies tooling requirements and increases engine plant fleibility, which in turn reduces costs.ccc

Yeah, let's....right after this: TRAITOR! IMPORT LOVER! SHEEP! RICE BOY! moving on :P j/k Satty. If there was one Toyota I wouldn't mind seeing someone get, of all the Toyotas in existence, it would be that generation Solara. The current one is just so awful. Lots of luck with it.

I'm with stace. With the Cobalt, though, I find myself doing 60 on all but the most treacherous roads. It just feels that solid.

As much a Chevy fan as I am, Buick and Saab could use this car a lot more. Between the Cobalt SSs and the Camaro, I think Chevy has affordable performance covered.
-
FWIW, G85 is the GM code for the FWD LSD in the Cobalt SS supercharged. Not sure if they offer it in the Ion RL or not.

5.2L 60 degree OHV V8 (the current 3900 V6 with two extra cylinders) 3 valve heads VVT DoD direct injection flex fuel capable able to support dual-mode hybrid operation Transmission: same as Ghost Dog's - automatic for around town, then use the manual for open roads/the track Layout: Longitudinal RWD with the ability to send up to 70% to the front wheels via TCS. Basically I want the inverse of Acura's SH-AWD.

Hey BV, I'll bet you'd settle for a stock good-running Quad 4 right about now ;) :D Anyway, If it'll fit, I'd like to try putting the Atlas I6 into a first-gen base F-body. I wouldn't mod the engine like crazy...my target would be around 350 or so (up from 291). I just like the thought of smoking someone with a car that you can barely hear running.

Cool, so did I :) Any of you old-timers remember my...um....famous Malibu coupe chop that was my first post?

Whether you like the 'vous or not, you can't deny that Buick would be in much worse shape had it not done as well as it has, especially given it's humble mechanicals and close relationship to the not-very-well-liked Aztek. I anxiously await the Enclave, since it looks to take the Rendezvous formula and turn it up a few notches.

I couldn't find the exact quote, but over here it's pretty much confirmed (or not contested) that the Lambdas will get the HF engines as standard equipment. Back to the drawing board, Edmunds.

Sly, you may be right with the rest of Buick's lineup (good but not great), but give the Lucerne a chance. Pictures do not do it justice. I saw a silver CXL in a Buick-Pontiac-GMC dealership the Sunday before Christmas, and it was nothing short of striking. It blows away the LeSabre/Park Avenue that came before it in every capacity. Plus it's quite a bargain, as you can get the silky-smooth Northstar engine for a tad over $30K. A base V8 Lucerne would be my top choice for a sedan.

The best place to look is the local junkyards, If that fails, you can try Copart. It's like a network of junkyards across the USA. You can do a search for the parts you want, and they usually give the phone number of the junkyard. from there you can call the yard, pay for the parts, and have them shipped to you (usually). Here's a list of Cutlasses from my Zipcode, just to give you an idea of how Copart works.

I'm so sorry Bimmer. Thankfully your sis is OK. Depending on the insurance company, they'll most likely declare it a total if the amount required to repair it is more than the wholesale (trade-in) value of the car. As cruel as this may sound, but if there's some significant damage to the rear suspension...especially if the points where the suspension mounts to the body sustain some damage, you probably would be better off with the total. It likely won't ride/handle the same, and your tire wear will definitely accelerate.

Hey Ross, just so you know, we don't really care for that kind of language here. Keep it clean, mmkay? Thanks.

I got a $50 iTunes gift certificate for Christmas, and I downloaded a song the other night. Trouble is, my Pocket PC doesn't support the iTunes protected M4P format (naturally). Nor will the 20GB Creative Zen Touch that I'm about to buy from my sister for half price. Does anyone know of any good, preferrably free M4P to MP3 converters that'll cause me little to no grief in getting the iTunes songs onto my player(s)? I've been Googling this for a couple of days, and it doesnt seem to be an exact science. I know I can burn a CD in itunes and re-rip ino MP3/WMA format, but I'll only do that as a last resort. I also refuse to overpay for an iPod. TIA.

You don't even have to do that. You just disengage the cruise by hitting the brake. As long as you don't turn the cruise off, it'll keep the speed you were cruising at. When you want to get back to that speed, you just hit "Resume". Ever CC-equipped car I've driven (with and without The Stalk) has worked this way, and a "cancel" feature would be redundant.

Corvettes have had some of the best faces of all time. On the first-gen Camaros I greatly prefer the RS package, with the hideaways: The '70-'73 has probably one of the most bold, dynamic Camaro faces, ever: I absolutely love the Sky's face...it might just win me over. Not that the Solstice is any slouch:

It'd be nice to get some extra power to move that extra weight around, but no. Next please <_<.

I also do the "teh" thing. I also tend to leave my finger on the shift key too long when I'm capitalizing something, so that "Chevy" ends up as "CHevy". I never knew how bad a typist I was until I started typing outside the Microsoft Word envronment that corrects my typos without me knowing it.

BOB!!!! How ya been buddy? Let me guess, the flights to/from. Argentina/Uruguay involved a 747 somehow. hehehehe. My Christmas was OK. None of us fought, and the cookies turned out OK. I ended up spending the 3 day weekend refinishing my bedroom floor after it got damaged from the flood waters that drenched the Northeast in october. It's great to see you back. Go visit the Signature/Avatar test thread to pick up your sig from the old boards :)

I'm not too partial. I think I can learn to live with or without it. My Blazer had the all-in-one stalk and I liked having everything on one little contraption. My Cobalt is laid out the same way as bobo's and reg's cars, and after a short adjustment period, I find this to be just as user friendly, once I got over trying to use the wiper stalk as a column shifter.
