Are you promoting wanton El Camino abuse....cuz them's fightin' words around these parts. See, the proper thing to say would be something like, "That's such a shame. An El Camino deserves better than that." I'll let this one slide, on the hopes that you learn from your mistake

I got rid of the red on his one...I hope it isn't too dark:

BTW, the "born again" phrase irks me, too. It does have its roots in the Bible, which talks about a spiritual rebirth after accepting Christ, where the Holy Spirit lives within you and begins to drive your every thought and action. But nowadays it's lost all its meaning and has more of a negative connotation than anything else. Some use it as a crutch, thinking that because they've been "born again" that they have a seat in heaven. Not true. Even after we accept Christ we are still capable of sinning because it is our nature. Those who are truly driven by the spirit will recognize their mistake, repent (in earnest, not half-heartedly), and move on.

The crux of Christianity is believing in the Resurrection, that Jesus came to this earth to die for our sins as part of God's master plan to save all of humanity. As far as I'm concerned, if you honestly believe that in your heart, you're a Christian. It doesn't matter what "club" (to use my assistant pastor's term) you go to every Sunday. All denominations (and churches within the denominations) have their flaws. They were created by humans, not God, and are by nature imperfect. The goal of a church should be to a) provide a place of community worship of God and Jesus and b) through this worship promote fellowship amongs believers. You shouldn't feel obligated to go to church in order to be a Christian. Instead, you should *want* to go to a church to thank Jesus for all he's done for you. Different churches speak to different people. Fortunately, there's a church for everyone. Maybe your church is Catholic, Orthodox, Methodist, Lutheran, or maybe just a group of fellow Christians at school, work, or in the neighbothood. In any case, Christianity wasn't a religion that was meant to be practiced in solitude. Remember the greatest commandment as told by Jesus: "Love the Lord with all your heart and all your soul and all your strength, and love your neighbor as yourself." Me...I was raised a Roman Catholic, but my experience wasn't as great as some of you guys'. We got a Bible from the church for Holy Communion, but not once did we use it, and even as a young child I had a problem with that. This book is supposed to be the founding document of everything I believe in, but throughout my years in Catechism it sat on my shelf and collected dust. Much later in my life (after I got my B.S.) I had the opportunity to attemd an at-work Bible study. I had tried reading it on my own, but nothing was sticking. Finally I had the opportunity to learn about it with someone who knew what they were talking about. I tell you, the words litterally jump right off the page now. I now attend a Nazarene church that's really thriving. They have a huge commuity outreach thing going, including a recently started bicycling ministry, of which I am a co-chair. So that's my story in a nutshell. I'd be glad to share the unabridged version via PMs for those that want me to.

How about this:
-
About as exciting as non-fat ice milk Tough I did like the little bowties embossed in the taillights on the early Corsicas.

I'm not their biggest fan either, but I didn't have time to chop a Chevy logo in place of the blue oval.

Just for kicks, how about the FWD vehicles. Tell us about your dark years

Don't worry Fly, I got your back: take THAT!!!

Hi Lauren, welcome to Cheers and Gears. Though I'd never buy a Del Sol (or just about any Honda) with a loaded gun pointed at my head, I do concede that it's one of the more innovative things Honda has done, and I remember thinking it was rather cool when it came out. I do have a soft spot for pocket open-air vehicles. The concept behind the Del Sol was great and Honda should have continued refining and perfecting it. A targa version of the current Civic with the Si powertrain would be a very desirable car.

See, being a Christian isn't just about going to church every Sunday, not drinking, not doing drugs, not having sex before marriage, and following the other "Do Not" statements given to us by the Bible. It's a change that takes place inside of you, where you no longer try to do things in your own strength but through Christ. If you seek His answers in earnest, you'll get them. I used to be a bit like mustang84's and Croc's friends, but not to that extreme. I just wanted everyone to feel what I felt when I accepted Christ, and got pissed when they didn't. But you know what, it's really up to them and God, and the Bible says that. Instead of acting like a "right wing nut job", I've since cooled it, and I've found it more effective to just try to be a good example - be a light unto others - and sooner or later they'll find out why I am the way I am. I would recommend to any new Christian, or to anyone who's interested in becoming one, attending a Bible study, almost over attending a church. Finding out what it means to be a Christian involves a good understanding of what the Bible really says, not just the text at face value. Much of the Bible was passed down orally before being written in down in Hebrew by its original author(s). During the Greco-Roman heyday it was translated into Greek, then to English and local languages for public consumption during the Enlightment (before then only relgious leaders read the Bible). Different translations of the Bible are still coming out. Many modern translations stem from the Greek text, while a few come from the original Hebrew text. In any case, each translation is created by a group of scholars who do the best they can to interpret whatever source they're using. Because of that, it's very likely that the text you're reading could differ from the thought that God originally intended when He inspired the original authors to write it down. Good Bible study leaders take this into account, and typically use multiple translations to develop their lesson plans. The assistant pastor at my church works a few offices down from me, and I know he's got a bookcases filled with just Bibles. I think I digressed a bit, but I felt it was important to say.

Sorry, dude, but on a GM site, a riced up Mustang will go over about as well as a fart in a spacesuit.

All Cobalts have a semi-independent torsion-beam rear suspension. Don't get your panties in a bunch, though. The car handles awesome. Oh, and I'm gonna have to start charging royalty fees for using my car in your sig.

You got the head gasket in yet? In any case, I'm happy for you.

He had to retire early because of glaucoma. He had tried surgery, but it didn't restore his vision to the point where he could see a baseball. His abilities, especially his defense, defied his physique. He was a man who loved the game and that people enjoyed being around. RIP, Kirby.

IIRC, they were the among the first ones with HUD, if not the first. Not to mention the fact that they've been doing 240hp midsizers long before anyone else.

Okay, I'll give that to you....for some of your frequent flyer miles. Speaking of that region of the world, did March of the Penguins go up for anything this year or last (whenever it was released)? Now that was a movie worthy of recognition.. I liked the fact that I was a bit smarter at the end of the movie than the beginning.

You mean to tell me you've never been to Antarctica? Bob, you shut-in you. j/k

Someone should tell her that she shouldn't hold the glass like that. If she puts too much pressure on it, she'll break it.

The second gens are pretty sweet. Good luck finding one though...especially with the V8. They are very, very hard to come by.

Welcome back, Chris. I have a friend who took Verizon to task RE: their claim that he couldn't get service. He knew a guy who worked on the lines, and he had him check the signal strength, and it was fine for Internet use. After a couple of bouts with them, they caved in and gave it to him.

I'm new to this....is Jeep v. Hummer the new Ford v. Chevy?
