  1. My gut tells me they will.....
  2. Hmmm. I'm not sure about how anything model specific, but here's some pointers I've learned from installng/removing glass from my truck with my dad. 1) Do it with two people, it's infinitely easier. 2) get a pair of large suction cups with the little lever for the release. Mosten the contact surface and press onto the windshield. 3) you'll probably need a windshield removal tool. It's basically a razor knife that has a blade bent at a 90* angle to get behind the windshield. Alternatively, there's this thin metal cable that you pull back and forth to remove the glass. 4) after you get the glass out, make sure you get all the old glue off. This is key to not having the new windshield leak. Leaving the old glue on will cause the glass to not sit right in the hole. It's also the most difficult part of the job, because that stuff is HARD. 5) Use only windshield sealant. It comes in a caulking tube. Don't be cheap with it either. 6) Don't use the car for a couple of hours after you put the glass in, and don't wash it until the next day.
  3. meanwhile, in Uniondale, NY, Islanders players are polishing their golf clubs getting ready for another long summer.
  4. I'm doing my part by biking to work again this Tuesday
  5. Happy Birthday Walt!!
  6. Remember that the G6 GXP concept is a *show car* and hasn't been confirmed for production yet. Normally, this would be a reason to complain, but consider this: The 3.9L got the extra HP through a K&N filter and exhaust tweaks. The original Bonneville GX/P got the same treatment on the SC3800, and as we all know the production GXP got the Northstar. What am I getting at? The engine in the GXP showcar very probably won't make it to production. With the 3.6L now in the GTP, it doesn't make sense to give the GXP a "inferior" (perception, not my opinion) OHV engine. I'd say the DI 3.6 looks much more likely.
  7. Buick isn't going anywhere, if only because of its success in China. If GM decides to kill Buick in the US, that'll surely hurt its image in China. Lutz did mention something about Buick getting a rebadged Statesman a while back.
  8. Wow, that's a pretty gruesome beating the Blazer took, but it gave its life for your mom. I'm glad she's OK. *whispers to BV* Torrent
  9. Tonight's the Good Friday service at church, and I'm running the movie/presentation part. Saturday I have a bike ride, followed by a haircut and probably a wash/wax/vacuum/detailing of the Cobalt. I'll probably try to mount my new shock-absorbing seat post too. Other than eating food, I have no idea what's going on for Sunday...probably just rest with the immediate family.
  10. Palm always made great hardware. I dropped my old Palm m515 PDA many times and it never once blnked. My Ipaq is so much more finicky. As soon as the warranty runs out on it, I thnk it's back to Palm fo me.
  11. I think he means they're getting a bump in displacement, though I really, really wish you were right
  12. Paulie, have you thought about the LIRR handling your commute. $265/month for a monthly pass sounds very expensive, but I'm sure you'd save at least that much on gas. How far are the nearest stations from your workplace and home? I remember you saying you lived in Holbrook and worked in Brooklyn. Wouldn't it be nice not to have to deal with the LIE anymore ?
  13. Actually, the Aura greenhouse reminds me more of this:
  14. I think they should have changed the exterior of the Altima more than they did. It's probably an improvement in person, but it looks like the segment is moving away from enlarged headlights and taillights that stretch halfway up the quarter panels. The car will look very dated in a year or so. And the interior layout is vintage mid-90s Pontiac, though the gauges are cool. If Nissan is going with the 280-300hp V6 like The OC is guessing, I really hope they have an answer to the torque steer problem that many report from the current VQ powered FWD Nissans.
  15. Thanks Croc and Josh. I now have the San Antonio bug. Looks like a very cool place to spend a week. There's a Six Flags and a Sea World there. I'm sure there's a few horseback riding trails, hiking, biking, etc. also. I have to look into it further. Plus, I remember Chief telling me something about Texas women having a thing for shorter guys. Given that attitude is nonexistant on LI, I might come back with a really nice souvenir
  16. It's funny that whenever they catch heat for making record profits every quarter, their prices plummet. It's also funny that their counterargument shows a complete lack of even casual research. If they bothered to take inventory of what makes/models get gas at their stations every day, they'd find that it's probably split down the middle between American cars and imported ones. My bike will be getting a lot of use this summer.
  17. I'm with the consensus on this one. The wheels that the production Aura debuted with leave a lot to be desired. They do nothing but make it look like a run of the mill European sedan. This car needs a nice set of chrome five or six spokes wheels to really set off the design. I'm not a big fan of the bodyside molding either, but a hair dryer and some Goo Gone will take care of that.
  18. I like it better than the current sedan, but take away the details and it now looks like every other Japanese luxury sedanout there. Do they all share the same brain or something?
  19. Nice!!! Then, rip the molding off and you have the concept Aura.
  20. How could I forget the founder of the "Car Spotting" threads? Happy b-day LA. Your presence is missed.
  21. Merged the topic from the lounge into this one. I'm not getting it on either Firefox (Windows and Linux) or IE. I am looking into what those errors mean, though.
  22. You guys did an awesome job. Our Saturn coverage is top notch!!
  23. I sure did. Is that a bike in your family? if it is, I'll mail you my "Roadmaster" decals if I ever go nuts and paint my frame. BV: brake pads are $5 for a set of 4. Aside from the sprocket and shock thing (which need a bike shop's attention), the rest of that could be fixed with a good ear and, some rust penetrant, and some lubricant, preferrably silicon or teflon based.
  24. Those are nice. I'll bet they're as comfy as an old Buick on the trails.
  25. Oh that's definitely the cassette. If your dad doesn't have a tool, you can probably take the wheel (or the whole bike) to a bike shop. You have to go there to buy the new part anyway, so just show them how the wheel doesn't turn with the sprockets, and just let them take care of it. Now, because I know you so well and anticipated your next comment, I took the liberty of looking up bike shops in Brookville, PA
