  1. I've been thinking about that one myself. Either that, or somewhere in Texas, or maybe the Carolina coast.
  2. A misfiring Fiero?
  3. They did a fantastic job, Fly. Looks like they matched the paint well and all the seams line up. And that shot with the jet is awesome!
  4. Cap'n: Clear out your cache in Firefox. That should take care of it.
  5. First post on the new server....yay!
  6. Quoted again because.....I caved in to peer pressure.
  7. I'm not picking on you O.C., but just to clear up a few things: "People in the know" (not using names so I can protect the innocent) on the Camaro program have said that the 6.0 will NOT be in the Camaro. That engine will be replaced across the board at GM by the LS3, though the details are still speculation. Those people have also said that the 5.3L may not make it either in favor of a 300+ hp V6 as a mid-level offering. I would have agreed with you on the 3.9L, but 91z4me's post earlier in this thread takes care of that reasoning.
  8. Well, I don't really have much of anything to say now that everything seems to be out in the open. I regret seeing things unfold the way they have, but unfortunately this day was inevitable. Josh has been a pillar of this site since I joined and thanks at least in part to him we still have a C&G to visit today. But now the best thing for both sides (C&G and Josh) would be to move on and not dwell on today's events or whatever transpired behind the scenes these past few months. C&G will rise above this just like it has everything else that's threatened its existence. As for Josh, one chapter has ended in his life but another one is about to begin. As far as the hosting situation goes, it is my utmost priority to ensure that all the site's data remains intact throughout the transfer. I don't want a "start from scratch" scenario any more than you do. The site files and an old copy of our database are residing and working on the new server. I will update that database with the latest version available once the switch in the DNS is thrown by Walt. Noone should be required to re-register: the worst case scenario would be that we lose a few posts.
  9. I would almost expect the 3900, if it were used in the Camaro, to have a higher output than it currently does. Turning the engine counter-clockwise 90* for a longitudinal RWD layout makes for a less restrictive exhaust system (which would be a given in a Camaro, anyway) that could be good for another 10-15hp.
  10. Realistically, I'm thinking: 3.9L VVT 3.6L with DI/VVT (based on info at CZ28, there might not be a 5.3L V8) 6.2L LS3 6.2L LS3 with S/C (low volume ZL-1) However I'd like to see NOS's lineup.
  11. You echo my sentiments exactly. Yes, our thrust is the present and future of GM, and I agree that it should remain that way. But topics about the past always end up coming up no matter what. Having a dedicated forum for GM's past is the lesser of two evils, rather than having it intertwined with the latest news.
  12. That's what I figured, Northie. The 3.6DI is the first "volume" application of DI. Since it's being released in MY2008, the "200,000 by 2008" remark doesn't really hold much water. Obvoius future recipients of DI would be the rest of the Ecotecs and the HFV6s. I remember AH-HA saying something about the "Ultra V8" being canned in favor of a Northstar replacement and that DI was part of the deal, but someone can correct me on that if I'm wrong. I still think it'd be interesting to see them come up with a DI system for their OHV engines.
  13. I think the time is right for a "GM Heritage" section, which in theory could be used to solve both points.
  14. This engine will probably be the bulk of those sales. I'm not sure how well they sell overseas, but the DI Ecotec in the Solstice/Sky will barely reach five-figure sales, if that. It's a pretty significant increase when you think about it. Maybe they're also working on a way to fit DI in the OHV engines.
  15. Well, if this is the 300+hp V6 that guionM was referring to on CZ28, this would be awesome in the Camaro as a midlevel or (dreaming) base engine.
  16. 267 + (.15*267) = 307.05hp Hopefully this isn't just a Caddy exclusive, and that this rolls out to the Zetas and all current FWD applications of the 3.6.
  17. Let's get this back on topic. I don't want to see this turn into a flame war. I'm not sure why Lauren would leave. I know the "masturbating" thread didn't sit well with her, but she seemed like the type to just roll with it. She posted her contact info in one of her posts, If anyone wants to IM her, just use Mr. Search Button.
  18. 267 miles? That's three days of driving back and forth to work for my father. Poor things, they were just babies.
  19. I think cake implies that it's a certain shape, not necessarily the substance that makes it. For instance, you could take Betty Crocker Cake Mix, put it in a muffin pan, cook it according to directions, and you'd have muffins, not cake. CaddyXLR-V: Carvel has bar none the best ice cream I've ever tasted. Are you a transplanted Northeasterner, like I will be someday? I've only seen them in the tri-state area. DQ and Baskin Robbins have nothing on them. However there's a relatively new Cold Stone Creamery a few miles down the road that I might check out.
  20. In ocnblu's case I'd say it could be one of two things: a defective switch/relay that hooks up to the button on the auto shifter a defective button/shifter. I played with my car a little bit this morning, and even if the car is in park, if that button is pressed, which engages the switch, the key won't turn all the way to off and come out.
  21. Everyone who has the radio problem, check this out. Many dealers are aware of the problem and in many cases are replacing the base radio with the mid-level radio, which doesn't have these problems. Not sure if your local dealer will oblige, but hey it's worth a shot. You'll appreciate the much nicer display.
  22. Before I make a decision, I really need to drive the GTO for a while so I'll know first hand what it needs the most.
  23. AH-HA?
  24. I found the fix on cobaltss.net. The problem and solution can be found here. Though, the problem applies to Cobalts with cloth interiors as well. Check your passenger's side door, you should see the material pulling out from around the trim panel where you put your hand to pull the door shut (the "pull cup"). The driver's side "cup" is wider because it has to house more buttons than the one on the passenger's side, so it is less likely to have this problem. Not sure why they didn't just back both the same width, but the beauty rings do seem to be working.
  25. That'll do it. Normally, you'll hear the switch (probably a relay) click when you press the button on the shifter to switch gears. If it's clicking randomly, that could be your key-lock problem. I got my "beauty rings" for the pull cups the other day. The dealer was very courteous and already knew of the TSB before I told them. It's nice to not see pulled up leather on the door panel anymore.
