  1. Welcome speedy. I'll echo Fly's sentiments in that I'm glad you like what you see here. Stick around - as you can probably tell already, we're a friendly bunch here.
  2. Well, despite Continental's objections to maintaining their fleet and flying on time, I made it back safe and sound at just after the stroke of midnight last night. Pics and a full recount are coming when I finish getting everything back in order, plus some huge news not related to my trip (hint: check the Members' Rides Showcase section )
  3. Bob: Continental's policy, according to their website, is that the luggage must be such that length + width + height must be no greater than 51", and it must weigh less than 40lbs. I just zipped it up for the last time, and it's L+W+H is exactly 51", and it weighs in at 31lbs according to my bathroom scale. I'll give it a shot, unless they're super anal-retentive I don't see why they wouldn't oblige. ocnblu: I actually looked, and there doesn't seem to be a McD's on 32nd and Cactus. Would you settle for the one on S. Padre Island Drive? J/k....we all know you're a wise guy. SS: I plan on seeing that Toyota plant, and farting in it's general direction. Thanks for the well wishes and advice, everyone. I'm about to sign off for a week, since I won't have internet.

    In Retrospect

This looks to have been the styling basis for what eventually became the 2nd-gen Aurora. It wouldn't surprise me if that was in fact the case, as NINETY_EIGHT_REGENCY and VenSeattle have some pretty good knowledge of the politics between Buick and Olds in the mid 90s.
  5. I'm leaving for the great state of Texas early Thursday morning....I'll be leaving my house around 1:30AM for a 5:40AM flight out of JFK . I'll be flying Continental from JFK-IAH-SAT and back. I'm a little worried about my luggage, especially with only a 38min stop in IAH on the way there, so I may try carrying my one suitcase on. My hotel's in San Antonio, but I plan on driving to Corpus Christi, Del Rio, and a couple other places in addition to what's in SA.
  6. OK, if none of you saw those coming, you need to get on here more <insert cheap shot at the Mustang here> I agree with you big time on that one. Especially cars like the tri-fives, the Impala, Camaro and Corvette. All those cars have their chrome tastefully applied from the factory. Painting the chrome is the last thing I'd do with those cars, but they seem to be the most popular candidates for such a customization.
  7. A HEMI'd Viper The one thing ironic about this is that when the Silverado SS came out it was bashed big time for not being competitive with the SRT-10 or the Lightning, yet has survived both.
  8. Very nice truck. Just a word of advice though: get an auxiliary tranny cooler installed on that 700R4 ASAP. That tranny isn't nearly as capable for heavy hauling as the old Turbo 400 that they used to use in the trucks.
  9. Did they dump the "sedans get odd numbers, coupes get even numbers" scheme? If they didn't, this would be a 4-series that we're talking about.
  10. The early C3s were cool, with the vacuum actuated cowl cowl that lifted up when you turned the wipers on. They also had the nozzles on the wiper arms.
  11. Words cannot express my hatred for snow, solely for how my car gets caked with rock salt after driving through it. I've really grown tired of the cold...if I never saw snow again I don't think I'd care.

    Annoyed

The type and condition of the paper plays a large part in the printer's reliability. A couple of years ago we switched from name brand paper to brand-x lowest bidder recycled paper, and it would jam the printers every 3 pages. Once it was gone we went back to HP paper and things got a lot better. It also helps to keep the paper in dry air. In humid conditions the paper will soak up moisture, which will cause it to jam in the printer also.
  13. I second that, Walt. Not to mention one heck of a ride.
  14. All right, that's it. The mudslinging stops here. Next person to fire a shot at another member gets their warning level raised. I'd also like to point out that words on a screen are nothing more than words on a screen. It's rather difficult to tell what emotion is behind them, being tongue-in-cheek or downright disrespectful. We're friendly here and we intend to keep it that way. This topic has the potential to be one of the biggest stories of the year at GM, if not ever. Let's give it the discussion it deserves. Thanks.
  15. I know some of the early C3s came with headlight washers, too.
  16. I can't say. I don't watch enough TV to really justify spending an exhorbant amount of money on one. I mostly use my computer with an ATI TV Wonder tuner that came with a remote. When this 17" CRT goes, I'll probably get a 19" or 21" LCD, depending on what's affordable at the time.
  17. :rotflmao: :rotflmao:So true. So true.
  18. Hey BV, do the words statuatory rape mean anything to you :AH-HA_wink:
  19. And if that still wasn't enough, the Lions still suck!
  20. GM needs a pretty sizable infusion of cash to take care of its healthcare/UAW related burdens more than it needs a merger partner. GMs current and forthcoming technologies are some of the best the world has ever seen, from an innovation and reliability standpoint. I don't see how merging with Renault/Nissan, Honda, BMW, Ford, VW, Ferrari, Volga, or Tatra would get them anything.
  21. Happy birthdy, fellas!
  22. I'll take the desert heat any day over this crap we have on LI. I hate being clammy 24/7.
  23. Allright, this one oughta cause some controversy: Frank Currently driving a 2005 Cobalt and loving it Have driven a 1985 S10 Blazer Actively looking for a vintage or late model Corvette or 67-73 Camaro to call my own Toyota will forever be banned from my shopping lists I'll let the powers that be in the RWD Mafia decide if I'm worthy.
  24. But just remind BV that the banana is for eating
