  1. I'm a Chevy guy through and through, but they don't need this. Give the car to Saab, Buick, or Caddy instead. If they want an affordable Corvette, keep the V8 (though I'd be open to a 5.3L powered car), decontent the heck out of it and sell it for $30K.
  2. The CTS: I wasn't really keen on it when it first came out. Something about the schnoz irked me. Now, I just might make a gently used one with a manual my next car.
  3. I don't have one, but I don't think it's that bad. It probably comes with a version of iTunes, which you can use to organize your collection and install it on the Ipod. It seems like you'll probaly need to get your songs onto your hard drive first. You can also do that through iTunes. If you want to play it in the car (unless you get a GM with the black tie radio), you'll probably need an FM transmitter. You can pick one of those up for $20-40. If you do get the black tie radio, then all you need is a male-to-male stereo headphone cable from Radioshack (<$5).
  4. I dunno, I've always thought it took a little more than that to be a metrosecual. To be one, you'd have to have an extreme obsession with the things that Croc mentioned, almost to the point where it's effeminate (sp?). For example, I consider myself well groomed, but I don't drive out to the Hamptons to spend hundreds (thousands?) of dollars to have a famous stylist do it for me. I could throw more examples out there, but you get the idea. *Disclaimer: Not trying to offend anyone here, just trying to further the discussion.
  5. Happy Birthday, Mr. Manjoe!
  6. clicky The trial I think only converts 5min. But it works great. I used their video encoder for the Enclave video, which I converted from MP4 to ASF (Windows Media Streaming Audio).
  7. Yeah, I remember that one. Before you criticize someone, it's better to walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you do criticize them, you'll be a mile away, and you'll have their shoes. Seriously though, I didn't mean to come off as non-caring. I tend to get annoyed at all these "days of recognition". They way I feel, you should be recognizing those things every day of your life. Most of these "holidays" end up being exercises in hypocrisy. For instance, take Mother's Day. You're supposed to show appreciation for Mom on the 2nd sunday of May. Great, so on that day you buy her flowers and take her out to dinner. Now what's your relationship with her the other 364 days a year? I just don't see the need for any of these holidays, when I'm called to treat everyone with love and respect every day of my life. This might be a bad explanation, but it's late for me, and I'm battling a cold and the NyQuil's starting to kick in.
  8. What's funny is that a good majority of Yankees fans (myself included) don't hate the Mets at all. They have a solid team top to bottom. I never understood why their fans always act like they have a chip on their shoulder.
  9. I'm so sorry Camino.
  10. Dude, you just suggested the same car three times. * ducks and runs *
  11. Don't get too giddy, pal. Eh, technically they're in Pontiac, MI, so you don't even have to consider them
  12. I'm with the Cap'n on the CTS, especially if it has the Sport Package
  13. Hmmm.... The only hard requirements I have is that the next car WILL have a stick and it'll be a GM. I'm gonna learn how to drive a manual or die trying (since the Corvette will be a 4spd). What I get depends on when I finally decide to part with the Cobalt ('08 at the earliest) and where I'm living at the time. It could be any one of these: Cobalt SS (post-MCE) HHR Panel G6 coupe Colorado (if the rumored SS comes out) '09 Camaro S10 SSR CTS the rumored Commodore-based Pontiac. IROC 'vert Blazer (fullsize or S10, but two doors) GTO maybe a not-so-popular classic, like a '63 Cutlass F-85.
  14. I'm still waiting for Single White Italian Male Ages 18-34 Appreciation Day.
  15. Mr. Opportunity is gonna have his work cut out for him next August trying to sell these pigs.
  16. Check out this C6. While I'm not really a fan of putting anything on the C6, as that detracts from the beauty of the design, whoever airbrushed all of this deserves props. A '62 Feulie: A Crossfire Injection setup from a '82 Collector's Edition: '69 small block vert: and finally, a 'skinless' L-88 Corvette:
  17. late 2nd gen Z28 Well, that about wraps it up for the Camaro pics. I then head down to the south lot where the Corvettes are. On the way there I see a few other classics: "Which one of these things is not like the other" Now for the Vettes. I see a booth for the Long Island Corvette Owners Association and buy a T-shirt for $13 before walking the lot. Here's a ZR-1 based Callaway Sledgehammer: Some random Vettes:
  18. Split bumper heaven: IROCs: Some more 4th gens:
  19. Ramp Chevrolet in Port Jefferson, NY had its biggest (and probably last) car show of the year today. Corvettes and Camaros of all ages were the main attraction, with the show being sponsored by Long Island-based Camaro and Corvette owner's clubs. The perfect weather and the fact that Ramp is about 5 miles from my house made this an opportunity for a nice midday bike trip. I tie the bike to a telephone pole and walk into the north end of the lot, where all the Camaros are. Right where I park the bike is a gorgeous sunset orange Z28 - for sale no less: I then head on over to the north lot, where most of the Camaros are. First stop: the first gens.
