Agreed, my '05 is coming up on 72K and there's not a squeak or rattle in it to be found (once I adjusted the striker for the ext. cab door). The directional/wiper/cruise stalk has yet to come off in my hand. Switches and buttons are light years ahead of those used in the S10. It's a truck, and the interior is befitting of a truck in that it's simple, functional, and easy to live with and maintain. If you've only sampled the base (light grey, bench seat, manual windows) interior, then yeah, it's chintzy. Still, I'm happy to hear that we're getting a new Colorado. The small truck segment is one that GM should not wave the white flag on, as it did the minivan market.

I've seen it, touched it, and sat in it. You'll like it. The "Camaro inspired" stuff on the exterior plays out a lot better in person than it does in photos.

I've rented two of them, and they're actually fairly utilitarian, reasonably well built, and somewhat fun. Nowadays, you can drive one home for whatever you have in your wallet right now. The one big knock I have on it is that it gets worse gas mileage than a midsized truck. That, and Chrysler never should have allowed it to go stale.

I'm debating whether or not to unload the car now, or wait until spring, which would give me all of next summer to find something. I'm not too keen on using the truck as a DD in the winter.

FWIW, the concrete-and-lead-based Caprice now gets the same combined MPG as the featherweight Impala Whatever - Zeta was a wasted opportunity, but if Alpha and Omega can cover what Zeta could have done, I can be OK with that.

But they already have so freaking many!!! C7 is a couple of years away, so maybe we'll see a Corvette-themed concept. Or at least something previewing the next-gen small block (preferrably a supercar).

to my Cobalt. For those of you that don't know (probably most of you), I was in a pretty bad accident with it in mid-July. To make a very long story really short, my left side and front bumper took most of the damage. My door and fender got shredded and the side airbag deployed. Everyone involved was unharmed. After some minor quibbling with GEICO, I got it repaired with all GM parts, and the total for the damage came to almost $6700. The car looks, feels, and drives just like it did before the accident, but *I* feel differently when I drive it, even after a month and a half of having it back. I'm sure some of you think it's weird to get even the least bit emotional over a Cobalt, but 1) It was my first car purchase ever (both the Colt and the Blazer were given to me) and 2) It's been a damn good car, and I've gotten nothing but compliments on it in the six plus years I've had it. It carried the torch for Chevy better than the auto rags would have you believe. I've even had a guy tell me at a gas station tell me he wished he'd gotten the Cobalt instead of the Corolla he was filling up. So that's where I sit. I'm leaning towards unloading it and putting the proceeds towards something else. Haven't decided what that will be yet, except that I'd like to avoid a monthly car payment if I can help it. *sigh*

Well there will be the Ciel, and I'd almost expect a design preview of the next-gen fullsizers, kind of like how the Cheyenne concept previewed the GMT-900s. Oh and I forgot about the Colorado.

Production ATS should be there. The Ciel should be making its rounds. Wouldn't mind it if GM used this year to introduce some variants of the cars they currently have (Cruze, Regal, Sonic, Malibu, Verano coupes and/or hatches) All's quiet on the Zeta front, though I wouldn't rule out a surprise.

Actually, those motors should be cheap used. Yeah, just saw a used long block on ebay for about 1000 shipped. This should probably be the easiest engine swaps out there. New heads are in the 200-300 range.

I think some of it is in thousands of pieces scattered across the floor of your barn.

Front is overdone and I'm not a fan of the Kia grille, but the rest is OK. This is probably a look at what Kia will do with the Genesis sedan mechanicals. I'd imagine the production car would have the rear doors opening conventionally.

What BV said. At that mileage the Ecotec is practically just breaking in. As long as there's nothing else major wrong with the car it's worth fixing. It should be worth a couple of thousand as is.

CIMARRON! Now that that's out of the way, I really like what I see, once you mentally remove the obvious padding. Proportions and stance look fantastic.

Well, using the 340,783 figure from above, which represents the number of F-150s sold through August, 40% of that is 136,313. That's a lot of F-150s. Looking at the spec sheets, GM HAS to do something about the 4.3L V6 and 4.8L V8 in the trucks. The MPG numbers are absolutely awful. Considering how many WT Silverados/Sierras are sold equipped with those engines, they'd be very wise to put more efficient engines in them.

Get yourself some Beyond Clay. Wash the truck good, them go to town with this stuff and a buffer wheel. The Jeep will look showroom new. Then wax with a good wax.

Nice job so far. I like it better without the faded moldings. You can probably hammer-and-dolly most of that dent out, but it's pretty complex and I don't think you'll get it all out yourself. Your best bet is to take it to a guy who does paintless dent repair (PDR) and ask him to look at it. The price may floor you a bit, but consider the cost of having the dent filled and the fender resprayed with factory-spec paint. I'm with Drew though - take that money and put it towards the head gasket. That drain plug leak hopefully is just a bad/loose plug, but it could very well be a bad seal in the hole in the pan.

As of right now they're expecting they're expecting the eye to pass over the Nassau/Queens border. I'm about 45 miles east of that, so the worst winds are coming my way. 6" of rain will preceed landfall. I've got some pretty fat oak trees about 30 feet from the back of my house. Prayers for all my east coast brethren.

What about building an El Ramino on LY? It's big enough for the task, and AWD ready. Then of course there's the possibility of a SRT-8 version I honestly don't see the need for a Ridgeline competitor when Honda has trouble selling 20,000 of them a year. Chevy sells more Colorados than that.

The numbers for the hybrid are impressive, but that is one ugly looking car.

That thing is sick. It's half luxury, half gangsta. Hopefully it morphs into the RWD flagship that''s supposedly in the pipeline.

FWD or not, I think the ELR has hit writen all over it. As I said in another thread, if styling stays close to the Converj concept, it'll easily be the best looking electric car ever. So what if it can't set the Nurburgring on fire? That i3 is laughable.

It's obviously the road's fault, because the Hyundai Sonata is the best car ever and Hyundai is on a roll and everyone should look out for them.

The Regal should have the 3800. I'd jump on that.
