  1. Funny you say that, I just bought a Avalanche. But I pull a trailer frequently too.
  2. 2 completely different vehicles, besides, the H1 is a Deisel, 195hp is not bad for a Deisel. It's all torque there. All my point is, for milage, price and towing ability the 4.2 could be in there. Great vehicle other than that.
  3. Motor Trend didn't make me think any different of it or sway my opinion, I just saw the article and it got me thinking what my personal thoughts were of it back when it first came out. My main thought was "Why the I-5". I'm glad they are selling, They are neat vehicles, just useless other than driving to the grocery store. Admit it... they are underpowered. But yes I know motor options are on their way. The TB platform could easily be made into a better offroad platform. Just like the suburban platform did for the H2. Then it'd have the tow rating and power, and be priced still close to where it is now.
  4. Since it's dayview, I haven't thought too much of this vehicle. After reading about it in the latest M/T mag I not anymore of a fan than before. What was GM thinking when designing this vehicle? Why the I-5 for one? Why isn't it just based off the Trailblazer with the 4.2? 14cty/19hwy is hardly good milage for a low output I-5 so using that motor for milage is no excuse. It's off road capability's rated well but that's where it stopped. It's slow, underpowered, can only tow 4500lbs for the price of a full size truck or decently equipped Avalanche. $30k base and $38k loaded!
  5. Viper had better power to weight? I'll have to look at the weights again, but I thought it was the other way around. Edit: Ok, Viper is 3445lbs at 510hp and Z06 is 3169lbs at 505hp. Z06 has the better power to weight over the Viper.
  6. No different than the G6 with the big sunroof
  7. Ok, replied back to him about the Zeta/Sigma mixup, Here's what I replied back to him with... "What do you mean by both concept and show car? You also mention production car, does this look like a green lighted project for production? Also, isn't the current GTO a Zeta? " here's his reply... ..."Sorry, should have said concept and production car. It will be based on the GTO, I just got sigma/zeta confuzed(I'm in a different department .LOL). The car could still get canceled but I'd say it's going to make it to the street."...
  8. Here's what was said through my source. I just asked if they had and planned on showing a Camaro at NAIAS... But not sure why he said Sigma and referrenced GTO.. isnt' the GTO a Zeta? ...."So far it looks good to go as both a concept car and a show car. The production car looks some what like the '68 camaro and is based off the sigma platform (GTO). Didn't see the show car before they took the molds off it, but I'd assume it's very similar. "....
  9. I've been on 2 different computers and still can't get the link to work????
  10. Link doesn't work
  11. no 0-150 runs, just 0-100 and 1/4 miles. 1/4 miles vette was 126.6mph and GT was 128.7mph Does anybody know how the mags get these cars? And is there any chance of a manufacturer tweeking these cars before giving them to the mags to show better test numbers??? M/T did a rear wheel dyno between the 3, and with figuring a 14-15:% loss of power from a manual tranny to the rear wheels M/T was figuring out what the actual output of the motor was... Z06 - claim 505hp, 453 on dyno - 10.3% loss Viper - 510, 447 on dyno - 12.4% loss GT - 550, 535 on dyno - 2.7% loss In other words, they are estimating both the Z and Viper to be 530 at the crank and 600 at the crank of the GT..... Did Ford boost hp of this one car to look good in the mag or do you think the GT's hp claims are down due to other reasons?
  12. I didn't read the article yet... but it doesn't look like they went out placing the 3. I think it's just a camparo in general. There is also a 2 page article in the front about the '07 Tahoe with good pics (same ones seen on this site)
  13. Just got my Dec M/T mag today. If you don't have a subscription, pick one up at the news stand. Main article is the Z06 vs Ford GT vs Dodge Viper. All back to back tested in the same conditions. The GT was quickest with a 11.5 ET but the ZO6 was nipping at it's front bumper with a 11.6 ET. The Viper was slowest of the 3. But while the Z only got beat by .1 in the 1/4 miles, it bested the Viper and GT's cornering, slalom, track lap time and braking distance... all for $68k vs $166k of the GT. Also (we're not done yet) is a article of the Pontiac Solstice vs Mazda MX5 and Charger SRT8 vs Pontiac GTO.
  14. What a very true statement... I am proud to say that I buy USA made when I can. But right there in my own statement makes me cringe..... "WHEN I CAN". I am one that always checks labels and will buy US, Canada before somewhere else no matter what it is. Tools I am very picky about, 90% of my tools are made in USA. Sorry to deviate from the topic
  15. BuddyP

    GMC Envoy?

Wow! Love the console layout!!!! I just wish they'd do away with that bulky square steering colomn. I like the old round one's a lot better.
  16. Thanks!... what's your thoughts on the headlights? Maybe show them turned off? My only gripe about the thing is I think I need to rework the cowel a bit. The 2 scoops that were on the original GTO pic would work nicly considering the 1st gen Camaro Standard hood (no scoops but had the 2 inset hood lines). But was just trying to do something else to deviate from the original pic..... thoughts???
  17. jd2b and Killfort.... VERY nicely said!
  18. I'm sorry but that is way to aggresive. You can't expect someone that is used to getting paid 20-some bucks and hour to just go to $9 and then have to accept $240 per month on insurance and other expenses and still be able to afford their current bills. That's not a restructering of ones assets, that's restructuring one's life. I can understand going from mid $20's to high $teens and hour and taking away some benefits and vacation time (6 weeks to 4 weeks is no big deal at all), but to get McDonalds wages with no benefits and no cost of living increase is just not right. Might as well just fire everybody and start hiring immigrants. Delphi just shot themselves in the head with that offer. Workers are an asset to a company... if you can't afford to pay them, then you shouldn't be in business. Our gov't is the one allowing all the overseas outsourcing that is hurting and killing so many domestic businesses... and I'm not saying unions are right, but you can't just point your finger strictly at the union.
  19. This was by far the most fun chop in my opinion.... Here it is... in all of it's Zeta glory! The long awaited 2007 Camaro SS! 6.0L SC - 475hp
  20. Yes, very nice way to incorperate the Firebird! I should have the birds brother done tommorow :booyah: and so far it's turning out pretty decent. Timblazer, when you see my chop, no I didn't copy your grill (hehe... mine is similar but used in a different perspective of things). Sharp looking front end!
  21. mygraphix, nice redemblance to the '70 judge! So when is the official ending date for this chop? I see in the G6 chop post it was noted as being extended an extra week??
  22. Deffinatly ok!! I was just razzin!
  23. Thanks... I guess a supercharged V-6 comes to mind in the 260hp range. Yeah the back of the coupes are weak... don't know that I'll get around to doing a rear view though.
