  1. When did Ford buy the GMC Terradyne concept from GM?? Not much design there, and the interior is not doing it for me at all. The term "cold looking" comes to mind. The Tri fuel concept is cool though (wonder if it actually works?). That would make a hydrogen fuel transition much more easier into the economy since you could fill up with gas when a hydro filling station isn't available... VERY good idea. And you gotta like the clutch activated supercharger.... MADMAX LIVES LMAO!
  2. Sure doens't do it for me. Seems to be a lot of disproportionate shapes on the thing. I deffinatly don't care for it. Jeep new styling has seemed to go downhill lately. The new Grand Cherokee's went a bit boxier, the new commander has no style at all. I think my old '96 Grand Cherokee had more appealing style.
  3. That's awsome looking! It's what the rendevous should have been all along (vs what it is now). The word "concept" worries me a bit too, hope it stays close to what it is in concept form. The only thing I'm not to giddy on is the use of fake wood again. Seems a lot of it is popping up again (Impala, Enclave, GMT900's)
  4. I drove a new TB SS today!!! A white one. There was a black one on the lot but already sold. I like the leather/swade seats, and the brushed chrome accents on the dash and shifter dressed up the interior nicely. Found the traction control button that's hidden on the side of the shifter but didn't make a difference on dry pavement. I thought it'd be a little more spunky down low when you first jump on the gas but the motor needs to wind, after that it moves along pretty good. I didn't get all crazy with it but did make a couple WOT runs up to around 70mph, then the g/f started complaining about how uncomfortable all the g-forces were LMAO! Oh well, I still had fun.
  5. Yeah very nice! And looks pretty much like that clay model did that some of us saw pics of not too long ago. I see the link doesn't work anymore. Just makes me that much more excited to see it at NAIAS.
  6. Looks very nice and refined... however you still have to do a double take to see that it is a new truck and not the old one. Saw a silver escalade on the highway 2 days ago heading on the opposite direction. It caught my eye but had to look twice to make sure it wasn't a current model... I'd love to have one of these over my current avalanche!!! When will the new Avalanche debut? Obviously it will look like the tahoe for the most part but am anxious to see it.
  7. Gotta say, I'm suprised some of you would spend for hotels and plane tickets just to come over to NAIAS! It's deffinatly cool to check out but I guess I'm just spoiled with being withing a couple hrs from downtown D-town. I'll be there Monday the 16th.
  8. Just curious if C&G has or is having any type of meet. Anybody else going to be there Monday the 16th? As of now that is my planned time to go.
  9. Problem with the truck parts is that the Silverado SS is a pimple on the SRT-10's ass when it comes to performance... the SRT8 Jeep won't have a problem with the TB SS either. But aside from all of that, It'd be a cool commercial.
  10. That rear end is horrid. looked decent in the side shot though.
  11. Yup, here on the MI/IN border I've been able to see a Yukon, Tahoe and just yesterday a silver Escalade on the hwy. I was able to pass the Yukon and slow up to get a good look at it. The Tahoe turned off the off ramp when I saw it and just past a Escalade (he was south bound I was north bound) do didn't get the best look at it.
  12. I don't understand why some of you are so negative toward pushrod motors. They are cheaper to build, reliable, less moving parts, lighter in weight and can produce similar milage. They are also cheaper to work on. Screw the press, as long as the HP and reliability is there who cares... honestly??
  13. Nice! Got anymore pics? What's the scoop on this one.. suspension? Motor?
  14. Not sure of the significance of this post? Whey a press writeup on the 7th place car? I assume the Impala is 5th only due to fleet cars? If not, then I'm shocked!
  15. Here's a couple droolers....
  16. Where did you hear this? The origin of where I get my info is very close to where the recent pics were taken. That's all I'll say.
  17. CNN this morning says Toyota up's sales goals to 9.06 million vehicles for '06. GM is set at 9.08 million. Will they stay ahead?
  18. No, those were renderings done by Kris Horton (carsbykris.com). He is not affiliated with GM.
  19. Deffinatly not normal, my '03 Avalanche (same door architecture) is nice and quiet at both low and high speeds (45k miles on it). If all else fails, roll down your window, open the door, take a 2x4 and hold it up to your door openingat the height where the bottom of the door window is, shut the door to the 2x and push on the top of your door frame (again, be sure the window is rolled down). That will bend the top part of the door inward hence giving a tighter seal around the door. Yeah... this is a half ass way of doing it but it works. And for the record, no I didn't have to do that to my Avalanche, it was quiet from th day I picked it up.
  20. Maybe since the shows are back to back they may want to have the running car at Detroit but still show off a concept at LA too. Keep in mind, press days and industry days at NAIAS are the Jan 8th-12th, same time that the LA show is going on (Jan 6th-15th). Good sourse or not, I think we'll just all have to wait and see! It's still speculation at this point. The General can change it's mind at any moment.
  21. Here's what he told me when the pics first came out... "This pic is very close to the show car, it's changed a bit since the pic was taken. If you look close you can see the clay model is split down the center with a different but simalar theme on the other side. The pic was taken in an inclosed patio used for outside design reviews, and photo shoots. The brick pavers show up in a lot of "officialy released" photos" Doesn't sound like it changed much and possibly didn't change enough to matter on a concept die cast toy. Take it for what it's worth, but will tell you that this source is better than most.
  22. Some Camaro news from my source.... "Just thought you might like to here the story behind the pics. All the pics that were leaked on the web are pics that GM released to a toy company so production toys/scale models can be ready for sale shortly after the NAIAS. Someone at the toy co leaked the pics, I've heard the FBI is involved and GM plans to prosecute the person responsible. Expect to see a silver running car at Detroit and a red push car at LA."
  23. Geuss I'd have to see the old and new side by side but this one looks like a '06 with a facelift?? To "Echo-esk" on the exterior with the tiny wheels and fenderwells. I know smaller wheels are more efficient fuel milage wise but they should'be gone bigger. Interior looks nice for the pricerange, but wonder how back that dash will be a knee banger for taller people.
  24. powder coated
  25. Thanks NOS2006! Wheel size I plan on going with 8"x17" up front and 9.5"x18" in back. Those are the maximum widths you can pretty much go on a stock chassis. Not sure on wheels yet, probably billet wheels but I do like the aftermarket C6 Z06 wheels, but the front's only come in 8.5" wide, that may be a bit too tight. I have awhile to think about that though. I thought about a DSE (detroit speed and engineering) mini tub kit that would allow up to 11" or 12" wide rears but that's just more $$$ that I don't have LOL! With the front end I did what is called the Guldstrand Mod, basically lowering the upper control arms, Hotchkis drop springs, Hotckis shocks (revalved Bilsteins), Hotckis 1 1/8" sway bar, ditched the old rubber bushings for Delrin/Aluminum bushings and of course the Wilwood 4 pistons brakes. The rear I plan on (at this time) just using DSE drop leafs. If I feel the cash is there I may go with a 3 link coil over but right now am leaning toward the drop leafs. Check out lateral-g.net and www.pro-touring.com when you get into your project. I'm on PT.com a lot and there is soooo much info on there and the people really help you out. Here's a couple other pics of the front end rebuild....
