  1. See, now I love the fact they they kept the windshield surround silver vs painting it the same color of the car. I think it accents the black/blue/red/etc. off nicely.BTW, love the car and color you got! Now if GM would put some of those design cues in all it's vehicles they'd really have something for a complete lineup!
  2. There is some kits out there but they cost around $700-$800.
  3. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/4949262.stm Prosecutors seek Hyundai arrest Chung is being charged with embezzlement South Korean prosecutors have asked for an arrest warrant for Chung Mong-koo, head of the Hyundai motor group, on embezzlement charges. He is at the centre of allegations of illegal political lobbying. The car giant is suspected of creating a slush fund to pay politicians and officials for business favours. Prosecutors said they also planned to indict his son, Chung Eui-sun, president of Hyundai subsidiary Kia Motors, although without detaining him. The Hyundai group has been under investigation since March, over suspicion that it sought to buy political favours by channelling cash through third parties to figures in the government. Prosecutors have already raided the offices of Hyundai Automotive Group - South Korea's top carmaker - and three affiliate companies, and questioned key officials about the scandal. Two lobbyists have also been arrested on suspicion of receiving money from the company, although it is unclear whether they actually sought to pay government officials. Multi-million slush fund In an act of public penance and to restore confidence in the firm's activities, Mr Chung and his son have already apologised to the South Korean people over the scandal, and promised to donate their 60% stake in an affiliate company, Glovis, to charity. But it appears that more may be required. The request for an arrest warrant came just days after Mr Chung spent about 15 hours being questioned at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office in Seoul. Senior prosecutor Chae Dong-Wook is quoted as telling a press briefing on Thursday that Mr Chung was wanted on charges "of raising some 100 billion won ($106m) in slush funds and embezzling it". Shares in Hyundai plunged 3% on the news that prosecutors were seeking Mr Chung's arrest, according the French news agency AFP. Hyundai spokesman Jake Jang admitted that news of the warrant was "shocking". "Hyundai executives are all in a panic. The absence of Chairman Chung is enormous, and its ramifications are beyond description," he told the Associated Press.
  4. I didn't read through this whole post, but a few of the comments will make a significant impact on pricing. Projector beams being one of them. Also, not sure it this was a manufacturing problem, but chances are the larger fender flares (which I too like better on the concept) are a 2 or 3 stamp process vs a single stamp process when fender is being stamped out during manufacturing. The less processes, the cheaper it is to make the part. BTW, the vue redline spoked wheels look great in that chop!
  5. My fiance's Alero 2.4L 16 valve get's low 30's mpg all day long
  6. Overall I think it looks very nice. I didn't know what to expect, and didn't think it would be anything outrageous either. And usually cars look a lot better in person. Sure there's some key area's I'd change but you can do that with any car. You know, it's still a basic SUV/minivan shape but yet it has a lot of little curves and design features that I haven't seen on similar vehicles yet. I think that intregues me the most about it. I could see myself driving one of these.... nice exhaust tip BTW!

    H3 vs. FJ

The dash of the FJ reminds me of the dash of the mid 90's S10's. So when the dash is plasticy on a GM product it's "bland" and needs up dated but in the FJ's case it's "functional and no nonsense"???
  8. And IFS is bad because.......????They ride and handle good and have had no problems.
  9. bobo, thanks for the info, I was not aware of that. PS, sorry about putting this post in the truck section... didn't realize that until now. Moderator please delete, I already have a duplicate post in the chevrolet cars forum.
  10. Latest Motor Trend has article comparing the HHR, Mazda 3s, Dodge Caliber and Toyota Matrix. They placed the Mazda first, now I will say that all in all the Mazda is a pretty nice overall vehicle. however I was very disappointed to see the place the Matrix 2nd and the HHR 3rd. After all, isn't the Vibe GM's worst vehicle as far as quality goes? I want to write a letter into MT, can anybody give me the links showing the Vibes poor quality ratings for me to shove in their faces?

    ....

    WOW!!!..........................WOW!!!!!
  13. I sat in one at NAIAS!
  14. Looks like the same bed plastic and butresses as the '02-'05's.
  15. CNN was interviewing one of the consumer reports guys, didn't pay too close attention to it but did catch this part... SUV - Toyota Highlander Truck - Ridgeline (I still can't comprehend this pick for a truck???) In regards to being asked what Detroit needs to do he says: "Detroit needs to catch up with reliability" After hearing that, the Vibe came to mind for some reason...
  16. Wow that's sharp! Will there be a US version?
  17. It will be called Corvette SS (unless something changes in the near future). Proto is pretty much complete. Ground effects similar to C6R. 650hp SC LS7. Main reason Z06 is limited to 198, too unstable over that.

    .....

Seems that since there is a Camaro Convert. proto already setting pretty much finished that it would take no where near 4 years to put the regular coupe into production.
  19. I might jump back in on this one, if I can find some time
  20. The grill is typical Saturn, it's just that it is all painted white to help in the camo'd sense of things. As far as the size, I was suprised as to how big the enclave was when I saw it at NAIAS. They are pretty big.
  21. I still don't understand why Olds was cut, if any at the time it should've been Buick, Olds had a way nicer overall lineup at the time. Buick had nothing even close to exciting.
  22. You've got to be kidding me
  23. Sorry but I have to disagree with the ride, the GM trucks ride way better than Fords. As far as interiors, the new F150 interior does look very nice, however the fit and finish it noticably worse than the fit and finish of the interior of my '03 Avalanche. And the last generation F150's ('97-'03?) had the worse looking interiors of any truck ever made.
