I think it has more to do with interference with the turn signal lever. This is going to get compared to the new RAV-4 isn't it. The RAV is obviously smaller and nowhere near as nice of design interior or exterior, but does offer a 269hp and 246 ft/ft V-6, 29 mpg hwy, 4wd and 3rd row seating. But has 1000lbs less towing capacity. Too bad GMC couldn't rate it higher than 4500, but that's to be considered since it is a FWD based plateform. And yes I realize this won't be a market for those doing a lot of towing. Don't get me wrong, I'd never buy a RAV and am all over the Acadia, I can just see the media bashing already.

Anybody else notice the non symmetrical design of the driver and passenger door panels? Nother wrong with it, just happen to notice the grab handle on the driver is in the armrest while the handle on the passenger door is different. That is one nice interior!!

Holy Awsome!! That is one sharp vehicle!! I like it a lot better than the Outlook. Still wish they would have painted the rocker area the same as the vehicle though.

They still may be set on that. Just a noted bit of into... the lead designer is the same guy that was lead designer on the Camaro concept.

Dam that makes me want to get my Camaro done soooo bad. I used to hit the dream cruise every year but missed the last 2. Now I have another thing going on that same weekend this year but might just drive over Friday evening for the fun of it.

It's just someones guess at what it might be. Last my source saw there were 5 full size clays for the regular Impala that were very different, so it's still pretty up in the air what direction there going to take with it.

I agree that there is always a customer that wants a $40k vehicle for $20k. There are a lot of people that really should learn more about the process before going in to purchase a vehicle. As far as the kickback amount, that $3k that I noted may be on the large SUV's actually? It was a number I had heard from my buddy but we were looking at the Av's and Tahoe's when that came up.

Sharp! I like it a lot!! The soon to be wife likes em, and would be interested in one for her next vehicle but they only come in manual.

I don't know the full story on his dealings with the dealership, but to automatically add in extra warranty, alarms, etc. is VERY poor business. To ask the customer if they want any of that or to try and sell it to them is one thing, to just put it down without anybody saying anything is wrong. It also shouldn't have changed 3 other times during his dealing with them. There should have been one total and monthly amount based strickly off of that. To go from $589 to $558 to $540 shows the dealer is not doing proper business. If it does come to $589 after taxes and they don't make hardly anything off a vehicle, why drop to $540 and loose almost $3000? Also even at $100 over invoice, once the car is sold dealers get an average kickback of approx. $3000 from GM. It's always nice to be close friends with a local salesman!

I think in general E85 is around $0.50-$0.60 cheaper per gallon than regular 87 gas. You'll loose about 25% fuel efficiency with it buy like mentioned above, the cheaper cost per gallon will roughly even it out. Plus knowing that your doing better for the enviroment and not buying oil. I think it E85 gives you roughly 5% more power. It is a better fuel for your engine to burn.

This it good to hear, however I hope GM doens't loose their focus on continuing hydrogen research.

In regards to milage of the Civic in thier long term test. Here's what I sent, let's see if they post it in their next issue... "Was reading through the long term test of the '06 Honda Civic on page 172 of the Aug. '06 issue. The gas milage and current MT average of 24 mpg got me thinking of my fiance's 6 year old 183,000 mile Oldsmobile Alero. Now here's a car (the Civic) that made car of the year with all it's new tech yet get's 24 mpg average. Now I do understand that being a test vehicle that it is surely to be driven harder than normal and would get a bit better mpg otherwise, however I've been a bit hard on the Alero at times and the worse mpg we've ever seen from it was 29.5. On average we see 32-32.5mpg with the best being a tad over 33mpg. That is with city/country/hwy mix driving. I should note it has the 2.4 16v motor. While not as powerful as the Civic, ya got to give the 6 year old Old's credit for getting better milage than one of Japan's best. Oh by the way, did I mention the Alero has a fuel sucking Automatic tranny while the Civic is a manual? Chalk another one up for the domestics!"

With gas prices and some media bashing of people using SUV's only for single person commutes, I was curious to see how many people use SUV's for those uses. My vehicle is a Chevy Avalanche. I work at home but have the truck because I pull a 22' enclosed trailer with it. I only put on around 8k-10k per year since I work out of home. When me and the woman go out of town we take her 32mpg Alero. 50% of the miles on my Av are pulling a trailer or using for hauling misc. items. The other 50% of milage is random local commuting. Therefore my catagory is Mostly to tow/haul. If I didn't have the trailer to pull I would have a car in it's place.

Congrats! Motor Trend just had a heads up Mustang V-6 vert vs G6 vert article. Just that it rated the G6 motor at 201hp with a 1/4 mile time of 16.5. Did they offer the 201hp motor in the G6 verts or is this a typo?? Also, for your info, the rear trunk space with top down is 1.8 cubic feet

Where's the Top Gear Z06 video post? Can't find it.

Nice! I like em, if you could get one in auto that'd be my fiance's next car, she likes them but won't drive a stick. I love the dark wheels on it.

elf makes good motors BTW, does renault even sell in the US anymore?ee

Well, it was about 1:30pm on Monday (6/26). They were pulling out of the Citgo next to 69. They must have been heading north bound because they drove under 69 after pulling out of Citgo. I was just getting off the hwy head south. Was running over to Pell's to get a set of tires put on the woman's car.

It's a shot taken from the rear view mirror, wish I would've thought of that when that Acadia came up behind me!

I just saw those 2 cars in Coldwater, MI today! They were deffinatly Hyundai's. They were pulling out of the gas station, but I didn't have the camera with me. I'm going to start carrying that thing where ever I go. I saw a few GMT9's running up and down the hwy over here before they were officially released.
-
Wildcat, it was for sure a GMC, I saw it coming up behind me and you can't miss that GMC grill. I know the pics aren't anything great, I only had those couple pics left on the camara otherwise I could've shot a bunch of pics since I was following him for around 20-25 miles. I need to start carrying the camara more. I just saw those elantra's on the front page in Coldwater, MI today pulling out of the gas station too.

Was in the Phoenix area this past weekend and while driving down the highway I spotted (or should I say, was passed by) a GMC Acadia. Tried taking a couple pics, but as you can see they didn't come out very good. I would've gotten some better ones but the woman was getting crabby about it. He was running a constant 80mph then turned around as we got back into the edge of town.

The '07 Sebring is on Chrystlers website. http://www.chrysler.com/en/sebring/index.html BTW, I'm in AZ right now driving a '06 sebring for a rental. It has the 2.4l 4 cyl.... Wow, what a friggen Turd!!!! The car itself is ok but the motor has no go for 150hp. If feels more like 110.

"During our time with the Camry Hybrid, our overall fuel economy was 32.6 mpg." The woman's Alero with over 180000 miles just average 32.5 mpg at our last fill up. That was with averaging 75mph on the highway and mixing in some city stop and go driving. For kicks, my Avalanche got 20.5 mpg driving to Cleveland and back averaging 67-70 mph. It's rated at 17 hwy. It'd be closer to 23-24mpg if I set the cruise at 60mph. My point with the Av milage is that while Edmonds only got a small percentage better milage while easing along at 60, the Av would be a good 30% better at that speed. I wonder what the Alero would do at 60mph??
