  1. In the Oct. '06 issue of Motor Trend, page 22 "MT Confidential" it says "Toyota recently held a press conference in Tokyo to apologize for a recent flurry of recalls, most notably those involving the hybrid Prius and Lexus sport/utilities. And in Kumamoto, Japan police are investigating Toyota for allegedly failing to recall vehicles it knew had defects. The problem is obvious: Toyota sales are growing so quickly, it can't kpeep up it's usual level of quality control."
  2. Awsome news! Now just need to hear news about a 4 cyl. diesel for Canyon/H3/Colorado and other small utes
  3. Would it really cost that much more to make it a little wider? It needs some width.
  4. So Saturn is going toward being rebadged Opel's, Pontiac toward rebadged Holden's, what's next, is Buick going to go the way of imported Chinese Buick's?
  5. I was thinking the same thing!
  6. I think I'm going ot use this one instead for my exterior drawing. What are the full rules anyway, does it have to be a full free hand scetch or are people useing computer to enhance thier drawings?
  7. Comparison test against BMW Z4 3.0si and Nissan 350Z roadster They gave Solstice 1st place! Mainly due to the low price. The looks and the fact that it "rattled us by showing it's tailights to the 350Z" where the final factors that put it ahead of the BMW overall. Typical negatives were trunk space and ergonomics. Lap times: BMW 1:35.9 Solstice 1:36.7 350Z 1:38.3 BMW 255hp Solstice 260hp 350Z 260hp 0-60: BMW 5.1 Solstice 5.5 350Z 5.7 1/4 mile: BMW 13.8 Solstice 14.1 350Z 14.3 Curb weight: BMW 3070 Solstice 3040 350Z 3576 skidpad: BMW 0.94g Solstice 0.89g 350Z 0.90g Braking 60-0: BMW 104 Solstice 112 350Z 121 Base price - Price as tested: BMW 42,795 - 50,095 Solstice 26,595 - 29,334 350Z 38,255 - 38,845
  8. Colorado, Canyon, H3 deffinatly could use a deisel, and all it'd have to be is a inline 4. Make it as quiet and sootless as the Duramax's and they'd sell like hotcakes. I also agree, a hybrid Cobalt would be awsome, look how good they sell as it is! I still can't understand why the G6 and Cobalt are not E85 capable??? The malibu is already though, depending on the motor option you get.
  9. Is Europe that much different that the US or emissions? 80% of the car in Europe are diesels. I think there are other options for a car as far as milage goes but for the Colorado and light duty trucks it's a must. The Colorado's 5 cyl. isn't that great. A torquey 4 cyl. deisel would be awsome.
  10. Here's my shoddy excuse for a sketch, I've had no time to do anything much... Here's the 2037 GM Hy1. This is built off the Autonomy concept in that it has a skate like hydrogen powered chassis, although the body is not interechangable. It is driven by wire. The grill area in the front is tinted glass (since no grill is needed). Xenon headlamps, timted glass roof that darkens automatically if the sun is out (kinda like those nifty sunglasses). Not too giddy about my exterior sketch so that may change before the end date??
  11. I see under the "Cheers and Gears" heading above it says "Fresh idea's for a better GM". Is it possible that anybody from GM that has any significant say is reading any of this? DOD is a good idea, however a small diesel would accomplish the same thing if not better. Heck, apply DOD to it. Don't see why that couldn't be done. I'd be all for buying a small deisel in an Av.... with a 6 speed mind you. The 4 speed in my currant Av is kinda sucky with the minute low end torque that the 5.3 has.
  12. ..."GM has built and tested a V-6 version of the Duramax diesel V-8 but shelved the engine two years ago"... Stupid move to shelve the project. What the Colorado needed from day one, was a 4 cylinder deisel option. You'd have great torque and gas milage for a small truck. Ford is going to have a small V8 diesel in the F150 soon and now GM is going to lag way behind.
  13. They were ok, nothing earth shattering, anything is better than the recent ones with the guy saying "Cadillac.... Breakthrough". It wasn't so much that the commercials were bad, just the guy announcing it.
  14. You beat my post with this one LOL, here's the pic I took at Woodward yesterday, I see it's LH drive too.
  15. That front 3/4 shot looks sharp! The rear end needs a little more difference over the current GTO though.
  16. I'll try and find some time to whip something up, will see what I can do
  17. Not sure, just that the motor didn't really seem to wake up until 3k. It still moved along ok down low, just not as hard as one would expect with the LS2 being under the hood. Maybe the 2wd model would be a bigger difference over the awd??

  19. But yet the Pursuit, aka G5 came here and I'm sure this one will in the near future as well
  20. I test drove a AWD SS awhile back. It was pretty decent, it moved right along as lone as it was high up in the power band. The LS2 is deffinatly a revver, not a huge amount of low end torque though.
  21. The exterior doesn't look bad to me, it's the interior that just doens't do it. The Wood, or at least the color of the wood, does not belong with that color of interior. The design is bland. And as far as the center stack issues, I don't see how 3 black boxes look nice while a lot of the GM center stacks are frowned upon. I guess that's one opinion I just don't get. Oh, and the GMT900 steering wheels look a lot better than the Aspen's steering wheel.
  22. Too much camo for me to judge, but front end sure looks Ridge'ish. Back end reminds me of the Odessy
  23. Is GM trying to kill pontiac on purpose????
