  1. I thought the Aura had a pretty nice and upscale interior... what am I missing here???
  2. How much of that 5.1% increase is rental fleets sales gained from GM and Ford pulling back?
  3. Sorry, guess I was a little cranky the other night LOL! I don't get a ton of info from the guy, but do get a bone thrown to me from time to time and will continue to post what I'm able to.
  4. Like Camino said, I have the heading of the email and who it came from. There is more to the email and was asked not to post anything else. I have to respect my source... in other words, I don't want to bite that hand that feeds me. This is no "friend of a friend of a friend who heard that blah blah blah". The guy got the email, sent from a "upper" person at GM with a short last name (that's as far as I'll go) and sent it to me. All info I've posted on this site came true, I have yet to post any "rumors". I posted about a convertable Camaro already being complete at the time of the Camaro coupe release a year ago, I posted about a Silverado SS with "427" badges on it several months before it was released at SEMA. I posted about the silverado haveing body moldings within the fenders when camo's spy shots were just starting to pop up.How much of the conversation with the Honda exec is true I can't tell you, I can only say that the email is real, and was also confirmed by another person in this topic on the 2nd page. If I knew this post was going to create so much contraversy I wouldn't have even posted it.
  5. The email is most deffinatly NOT a hoax... , it is an actual email that was sent out today. I can't tell you anything about the info put in the email though. Again... It came from what of GM's best.
  6. I don't know what to say really either, but all I can say that it was sent through the company via one of GM's best... let's just say it was sent by one who many on here have high respects for. There was more to the email that was interesting as well but was asked not to post anything else, hence the reason I didn't post who the email came from or who all it was CC'd to.It came from a direct reliable source of mine. Not someones father who works at such and such. Take it for what it's worth
  7. Have heard that Jim Press said "Well, guys, they have the better car. So, what are we going to do now?" after checking out the Malibu at NAIAS.
  8. I have an idea Edmonds stays fairly close contact with the manufacturers... but not sure other than that.Surfaces is the exterior sheetmetal work. The untrained eye may not pick up on the flow of the sheetmelal but there are manufacturing limits to what can be done with it, and that depens on whether a peice of metal needs 1, 2 or 3 stages of stamping. Of couse the more stages, the more expensive to produce. That's about the best that I can explain it.
  9. Got this from a buddy of mine that works at GM. This was sent to GM exec's and they forwarded it to the employee's... "Just hapened to get this in a E-mail today that was sent to a GM exec and forwarded around the company. 01/18/2007 01:09 PM Hi Guys: You probably heard that Michelle Krebs has joined our editorial team. (We are launching a new site that we will be announcing at the Chicago Auto Show that Michelle will be heading up…) Anyway, she was on the West Coast this week and by happenstance was seated next to a Honda exec on her trip home. Michelle passed along his comments and I thought you might be interested in the following: “He said Honda execs (including from Japan) were blown away by GM's new products, especially the Outlook, Acadia and Enclave. They are worried as hell. (Look at the consideration of the new Pilot vs. the Outlook in our data and they should be) He says even the next Pilot doesn't measure up to the current Outlook. Said no one in the industry is doing surfaces the way GM is and he's jealous because the Japanese refuse to even try.” Obviously, consumer opinions are the ones that matter, but industry attention doesn’t hurt. J Regards, Jeremy P. Anwyl President Edmunds.com CarSpace.com InsideLine.com"
  10. The concept is great! I took some time checking it out at NAIAS.... I still need to get those pics developed so I can post them. This is something GM deffinatly needs to focus on that will greatly benifit the company as a whole.
  11. Just got back from the show. Was checking out the new Tundra mostly just to compare it to the Silverado. Overall it is nice. The button's, knobs and door handles looked and felt a lot cheaper than the Silverado. Also the ergo's/button placement on the Tundra is piss poor. The radio and Nav is almost worthless for any short armed people. I got a chuckle out of the cheap plastic chrome door handle on the Tundra. However, the amount of interior room is nice, and nobody will notice 2" worth of box length. Deffinatly don't care for the front end design of the Tundra. Overall I do like the LTZ Silverado's better, but GM better stay on top of thier toes for this truck "looks" to be almost on par with the GM alternative. As far as reliability of the Toy's 5.7, we'll have to wait and see but I don't see that being a concern. GM can easily push the 6.0 to 390-400hp in the Chevy's, your kidding yourselves if you think GM didn't leave any room on the plate.
  12. Where exactly are the Equinox's engines made?
  13. Wow, that is really nice lookin! GM better get revising that Malibu exterior.
  14. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16516727/from/ET/
  15. I like it, some nice unique area's of design.
  16. So I assume this is a Euro only Cadillac??
  17. I'm sure it'll be a nice vehicle and all but they need to ditch the designers in Korea, thing is too narrow and front end almost looks like a friggin Aveo. GM please ditch the Korean market!! Come back to America!!
  18. Overall is very nice. nothing earth shattering though. Exterior is average but trimmed out very nicely. Interior is deffinatly the strong point of the car. At least they moved the wheels to the outside of the vehicle!!! They needed to do that for the past couple decades.
  19. I actually like it also. Quit an upscale design but nicly executed with good proportions.
  20. Awsome! I like it a lot!
  21. It deffinatly looks nice, not out of this world Wow, but does look nice. I think when seen in person and seeing both the new exterior and interior one will see this is a nice all around vehicle. I just hope it will best the Camery by a little bit in every perf spec. I also really like how they did the hood gap
  22. I had the same thoughts the first time I saw the Omega post, the body lines reminded me of the Maliby spyshots.
  23. A motor running 15 min. at idle is almost nothing for fuel usage. You could charge it up by hitting a autostart remote programmed to shut off after 15 min. of idle time! Absolutly awsome if this became reality.
  24. Yeah the increase in price makes absolutly no sense. It should be a grand less.
