  1. Yeah this car should be on it's way over ALONG SIDE the astra. 3 years is bogus on a car that is already up and running. safty tests and regulations should not take 3 years to complete. A car like this is a no brainer... it's competitive and LOOKS GOOD. The Aveo is insanely blah and should not be a reason for GM to hold back bringing out any other subcompacts. With the black Aveo and hideous Yaris the Corsa would bring people back to GM.
  2. Cheap labor, cheap parts and shoddy workmanship
  3. Ok, got the slave cylinder replaced along with all 3 new motor/tranny mounts. Painted wheels, cleaned the piss out of the interior and under hood. Got $1200 into it.
  4. Silvi had control issues at 28mph, My guess is the Ford would have em at 32mph. Also if they used the softer non Z71 then control issues might have been gone at that speed.I'd like to see em play the Tundra part in their comercials though!
  5. This was a video obviously put together by Ford marketing, and compares the new Silverado and Tundra to the F150. Apparently 28mph is the harmonic sweet spot for the Ford (why not 25 or 30mph?). Anyway, Looks like the F150 and Silverado were dam near equal, but the Tundra is flopping all over the place!
  6. What REALLY does not make sense is why GM did not make the Lambda's E85 capable??? That is just rediculas!!
  7. 4 speed manual, that's why the slave cylinder is out. Going to see if anybody has one in stock and might try to do something with it today. Would like to get $1000 out of it with a new slave cylinder, just want to come close to breaking even if possible.
  8. Here's the guys ebay auction of it from a week ago, there's some pics there. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...em=260120579716 Tires are newer, radio is in it but not hooked up (he must have had an aftermarket unit in there). Has power mirrors, power windows (tinted) and cruise, but mirrors don't really work and cruise isn't working. Don't know if it's just a fuse or not, just got back 3 hrs ago and have yet to look into any of that. Power windows work fine. Has sunroof. Tear in drivers seat, door panels a bit loose, drivers armrest has coating coming off. Has new plugs, new battery, new cap and rotor, new PVC valve, no cracks in any of the glass. Was a TX car, came into MI 1.5 years ago. Cradle, suspension and underside has minimal surface rust. Cosmetically the exterior and interior are fair. I think it might need motor mounts replaced?? These are pics he had on his ebay auction....
  9. Just picked up a '84 Indy Fiero tonight... guy said it ran and shifted perfect and was reliable. Halfway home I go to stop and take off and can't get it into any gears unless I shut off the car. Let's just say it was a tough slow drive the rest of the way back. Of course the guy won't answer his phone now. Test drive apparently wasn't long enough to find the problem. Anyway, I'm assuming that would be the slave clyinder?? I just bought the car to put miles on and save the miles on my Avalanche, well, this left a bad taste in my mouth and Fiero is going right up on ebay, whatever it sells for is what it sells for, no reserve. Just thinking that I might try and fix the slave clyinder first. If anybody's interested, it's located on the MI/IN border. 94k miles, motor runs good. Car does show it's age. I paid $900 for it, would like to get close to that back out of it.
  10. NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!
  11. Why doesn't "Stephen" throw in the fact that on average the domestics are 80% US while Toyota less than 50%?
  12. Disproportionate.... I said it when it was first released, thought I'd get used to it, but not so. Wish they didn't go back to a "rounded" vehicle.
  13. For what it is, it looks good!
  14. It's really... REALLY sad when China get's a car form a US automaker that looks 10 times better than what it currently produces in the US.
  15. Where are you guys seeing the new ratings? I assume these are the '08 ratings??
  16. Thing is, is that they aren't doing this for the benefit of emissions or green house gases, they're doing this to cover thier asses early before people start getting upset this summe when prices grow toward $4 per gallon. This is just the butter to make Bush look not so bad.
  17. ... time to incorperate hybrid tech into these RWD platforms. Oh, and get ready for car prices to increase by at least 25% in the next 2-3 years to accomodate our beaurocrats mindless decisions. Just another one of Bush's propaganda's, just like his bill to increase "alternative fuel reseach". Whatever happened to that!
  18. Well, just as you highlighted, it's all in the propaganda and the publics mindset. Why do people buy a Toyota Camry when there's a whole lot of better/more reliable cars on the market?..... propaganda and consumer mindset.
  19. Really? What's the deal with that? I guess I assumed E85 would have better emissions?? I'm not in a state like that (Indiana) but we have several E85 pumps in this state.
  20. Really? What's the deal with that? I guess I assumed E85 would have better emissions?? I'm not in a state like that (Indiana) but we have several E85 pumps in this state.
  21. Is anybody here educated in what process it takes to convert a vehicle to be E85 compliant? I have an '03 Avalanche, and while most '03 GM trucks are E85 compliant, the Avalanche's were not.
  22. Toyota wants 200k on the road this year, GM will put out 900k at the most. GM's trucks are E85 compliant, in other words if all the GM trucks ran E85 they'd be using the same amount of gas that 135k trucks running straight gas would use. Hence, 900k trucks using less petroleum than 200k Toyota's.Yeah I know most consumers won't run E85, but that's the consumers fault, not GM's... and yes a good portion is Deisels but they can run Biodeisel, plus Deisels get better gas milage than the gas motors anyway (in which Toyota produces none). Yeah, it's a numbers game and I'm playing it too.
  23. Heh, I just now saw this post... had one for 4 years from '98 to '02, 31k miles when I bought it and only put 4500 miles on it. Bought it for $14,500 and sold it for $13,800 Pics aren't the best, had the truck before I had a digital camera, so these scanned versons are the best I have.
  24. I think it looks pretty sharp, Ford's come a loooong way in their interior work.
