  1. Well, wifey did. Salesman friend of ours bid on smart auction and won a '07 Aura XR with 32k miles. Was a GM rental car. Berry red with black leather and moon roof. Auction noted some paint flaws, hope it look ok when they get it up to the dealer. I'm usually quit picky on my vehicles but when the wife drives over 30k miles a year it's hard to get too picky. It's gonna see a lot of the enviroment each day of her commute! Was a bit iffy about it being a rental (but may have been rented/leased to a business??) but 100k powertrain warranty has my nerves settled. I really liked the powertrain and black leather option of the XR, but I suppose the XE would've been the ideal choice for her main use. Will see if for the first time on Friday... only saw a couple shoddy pics of it from smart auction site. Will post those up when I get home.
  2. Looks dated already

  4. I was wondering the same thing
  5. I've always said the same thing to people, that the original GTO was a average car with a big motor. The GTO was ruined as soon as the retro "new" Mustang pics started flying around, which happened to be around 2003 when the GTO was brought into production. I remember back in the late '90's at Woodward I ran across a GM exec. driving around a right hand drive Holden (vehicle the GTO came from). Hard to believe that was almost 10 years ago. LOL! I like that!
  6. Guess they're gonna beat GM to the punch. http://www.hybridcars.com/news/mercedes-li...ybrid-2009.html
  7. Holy Mokes!!!!! Me extermly likey!!!!!
  8. Beat me to the punch, I was just about to post this. Here's a couple articles... http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article...NESS01/80212038 "The truck has had four radiators, three gas tanks, five transmissions and six water pumps, but the engine has never been overhauled" http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,327447,00.html
  9. I have a E85 station just a couple miles from home. Actually I wish my '03 Avalanche was a '05 just so I could run E85 in it. If it was E85 capable, I'd run it all the time. I have no problem driving a smaller car for an everyday driver, but I need the truck to pull a 22' enclosed trailer at times... and has come in VERY handy when hauling misc items. For E85 to spread, there's got to be a alternative to creating it other than using corn. Switchgrass seems to sound like the best alternative. Where corn produces 354 gal of ethanol per acer, switchgrass can produce 1150 gal per acre. And since it is basically a weed it doesn't need fertalizer or excessive water to grow, and has a growing range of pretty much the whole US. It's basically be to the US as what surgar cane is to Brazil.
  10. I guess I just assumed they would do this from day one. It really is a no brainer.
  11. Very impressed. Didn't think it would look this "different" from the Acad/Outlook. While I still think 4 lambda's are too many, the Traverse is very nicely done.
  12. Wow, to me that is a VERY good looking vehicle!
  13. Yah to da UP! Heading up to Munising, MI in about 1 hour.
  14. This 500# snowmobile will be a pimple on the Avalanche's ass on my 7 hr journey up north this weekend!
  15. Was up at NAIAS yesterday and walked through the show. Going to sum this up the best I can. GM booth had a more open and basic layout, yet was nice to move around in. But in prior years they used to have a 2nd level, stage and a few other large scale turn tables but had none of that this year. I was very suprised not to see any boasting of the plug in hybrids (Volt, Flexstream). They were both there but were just casually setting in the mix of things. They didn't even have the cut away chassis of the Volt. Very suprised they didn't setup a large, more informative display about the Volt at least. Toyota was deffinatly trying to play the green card. They had a Prius with stickers down the side that said "Plug in hybrid" and other sign telling about how their large LCD screen were made out of recycled this and that. This was the year for GM to play the "green" card at NAIAS and they did nothing to speak of. '08 CTS... this IS the NICEST interior that GM has ever made to date. I am so impressed by the interior of this car. Right down to the stiching in the dash. Mazda is on a wild streak with it's concepts. The interior of this was quit intreguing! Lincoln concept Another wild Mazda concept, probably my favorite vehicle at the show
  16. I'll ask him the next time I see him. If it does become reality, it's obvious that it would be tonned down greatly unfortunatly.
  17. Just saw this one yesterday at NAIAS, very nicely put together concept. I'll have pics later tonight. Irronically enough, A buddy of mine was one of the main designers/sculpters on this project for the last 2 years. I knew he was working on a Hummer concept but he never gave me any details.
  18. My buddy at the local dealer just gave me these prices..... 1SV is pwr windows locks but no criuse. same incentive on higher priced G6, malibu has no rebates just your gm card a msrp 21065 g6 would cost you 14131 and i was wrong on the 1SV 08 would be 11913
  19. I like it! Have mixed feelings about the back but am loving the greenhouse.
  20. Our local dealer has the same Malibu LS that I test drove about 2 months ago. But it was still the only one they have. I suppose there's a good chance that Malibu helped em get orders for more of em with more options.
  21. Wow that is sick!!! Very intense looking. I love it!
  22. I absolutly love it! And I'm not much of a Jeep fan. Just don't have any justifiable reason to buy one. Too bad it won't look like that in production form. Way too many concept only cues to be taken away for a production version.
