  1. That'd be great, but for one who's gonna pay em? Secondly, it's not as easy as just "putting up windmills". Mackinaw power wanted to put about 20 of em up on Oceola county recently but permit was turned down because a few "locals" didn't want to see them out their back window. Same thing happening now in MA, a windfarm based a mile out in the ocean is being protested because a few high class people with homes on the beach "don't want to see them" even though they are a mile out. F'in rediculous if you ask me and sick of it. The blame of the current ecinomical crisis and lack of alt. fuel infrastructure is not the fault of anybody other than ourselves!!!! We "want" all this stuff but either dont' want to pay for it, or dont' want it in our backyards. We "needed" new vehicles and a big house we are barely able to afford paycheck to paycheck. Compete and total lack of future planning because we can't wait or save a little to buy somethings, we need it now so put it on a credit card..... a couple years later, "Oh No, how are we going to pay off this $15k CC dept and pay the house when I've just been layed off!" And with gas, nobody cared what type of vehicles were produced or what they got for milage because gas was 'cheap', but as soon as it hits $4 a gallon all of a sudden it's a crisis.... because NOBODY THOUGHT AHEAD and it's now somebody elses fault. We "Live in the moment" and that's what brought us to where we are today. Also known as greed...... Yeah I'm extremely bitter about the common person's judgment.
  2. Yeah that won't be outrageously expensive.
  3. I "think" I kinda agree with this... Maybe this is what GM really needs? Go under, trim all the fat (and UAW) and come back lean and meaty.
  4. So what exactly would the "more problems" be if they went bankrupt? Would they really be able to restructure post bankruptcy without the UAW? Wouldn't that in itself be worth it??
  5. No new Buick, no Lutz. Saving it for NAIAS http://news.moneycentral.msn.com/ticker/ar...8&Symbol=GM
  6. The deficit didn't change much when clinton was in office, he still left office with between $4 and $5 trillion deficit. His tax hikes helped keep it from going up, but his spending didn't really help it go down either. The war recently has not helped obviously. Obama saying he's going to cut taxes is absolute BS, if he does the deficit will grow even more out of control. That's what I've been saying all along. Obama said what he thought we want to hear to get elected, but reality is he won't be able to do those things. Keep in mind, if we could've been drilling offshore for the past decade or two we would be keeping a lot of that $$ here in the US as well. That would also have helped keep the deficit down from where it is today. It's not just Bush, it's everyone. BOTH parties. Now you have a $700 bil bailout that was highly pushed by Pelosi and the Dem side of congress (still, BOTh parties involved) and now Pelosi wants to push another stimulous package.... in the end $1 trillion more spending in just a couple months. I personally don't agree with the bailout or stim package.

  10. GM stock almost dipped below $4 a couple hours ago. It's at 4.34 right now.
  11. saw a yellow 1970 Olds 442 W30 just yesterday.
  12. Yeah it's all Bush's fault. Can't wait for 4 yrs from now when I can blame everything on Obama... give me a break, you don't think the shape we're in right now has anything to do with the Dems? You know, Democratic congress that took hold in '06? You know... Congress, that makes the laws??? This is what frusterated me the most about this whole campaign, it's unbelievable just how uneducated people are about politics, how they work, and how we are put into some of the issues we are now. I'd lie to you if I told you I was 100% behind Bush, but if you look at this current financial meltdown and how it derived, it starte with Jimmy Carter in '79, was inhanced by Clinton (which actually passed a law that was to help and backfired), warned by Bush in '03 of the possible"bubble", again in '05 by McCain (both Bush and McCain tried to push a law through to stop where things were headed) only to be stopped both times by the Dems.... Now we are where we are. You don't think Pelosi and Barney Frank new about how things were going and where they were headed???? I'm not going to sit and tell you the Reps didn't have anything to do with it as well, but the Dems deffinatly had a big hand in this ordeal. Wow, so your worried about immoral issues of a past marraige but something as important as abortion is a non-issue for you??? I'm speechless! These also are the comments that have me VERY worried about humanity in our country's future.
  13. not good at all. Also heard Chrystler was down 38%, Ford down 40% and Toyota down 23%
  14. I'm not sure how McCain's personal life has anything to do with past records. And if your basing his past marraige ordeal around all of that and it being immoral (yes I agree it was) then you should be horrified that Obama is pro-choice. I don't know what happened in his personall life then, nor do I care. I see you left out many connections in Obama's past, yes many we've heard over and over about... and those have fully to do with his political career. Rezko hooked em up with a heck of a deal on a home and property. The fact that someone who's says they believe in this country and then listens to Rev. Wright for the past 20 years really has me scratching my head. But neither of those are even the reason's I'm not voting for him. As far as the ani christ thing and Obama being a muslim, no I don't by any of that either.... even though Obama did say in a recent interview "my muslim faith", I'll go off on a limb and say he just slipped up. The majority of what he says he's going to do, he has yet or never has explained how he was going to do that. Even in his 30 infomercial, there was nothing said in there that we didn't already know. Also his financial advisor was none other than Raines, CEO of Fannie May '99 to '04... who collected $$90M in the process of those 5 years. Bush warned of the economic turmoil possibilities back in '03, tried to do something about it and was stopped by the Dem's. McCain tried to do the same thing in '05, once again, stopped by the Dem's. Now Obama dares to sit and say it was failed Bush economics. BS! You can't even fully blame all of this on one party. Obama has got of his sheep following his lead. The fact that most are so blind about all the actual facts of the current economical situation is what bothers me the most. On a side note, why did the dem's put Biden in hiding????
  15. http://news.moneycentral.msn.com/ticker/ar...8&Symbol=GM GM and Chrysler have been in talks on a possible merger, but according to sources any deal will have to wait until after the U.S. presidential elections on Nov 4 as the Bush administration ruled out providing government funding for it.
  16. apparently you haven't Obama's is very shady (what little bit of it we know, still don't know why he's going to such lengths to keep the other half hidden)
  17. He has lived the "Common man" life throughout his life. He worked hard to get where he is now. I could not imagine going through what he did for 5 of those years in the service. What he has worked hard for his whole life, it was Obama wants to take away after doing all of that hard work. Obama has only done things for his own personal agenda throughout his career. I have reseached each candidate throuroghly and through the past record of each and that is why I chose who I chose to vote for. I'm not voting McCain because somebody told me to or because I'm a particular party member. I started out with this with a open mind to both candidates.
  18. He will not spread the wealth in that direction. At this point he is telling eveyone what they want to hear to get elected. Fact of the matter is, Congress makes the laws. 80% of what Obama says, he will have no contol over. Don't fall into his "marketing" propoganda. He reminds me of Toyota. Keep in mind, Obama and the Dems are very pro-Union
  19. I don't care where he was born, he lived here in the US his whole life anyway, it just makes you wonder why so much effort it being put into hiding this, and not only keeping it from the public, but also from some of the Democratic party. Remember, it's the Democratic party that is questioning this. Regardless who wins, I hope that person does what is best in the interest of the US through the next 4 years.
  20. This is where I can say Obama's poor choices in the recent past aling with compulsive lies and accepting untracable donations, (I could go on) is where he blew it to me. Now on top of that he may not even have been born in the US.... one of the stipulations of being president of the US. A Dem even put a lawsuit out on the DNC about it and said he'd drop if it they just show the paperwork. Whether or not he really was born in the US, there is deffinatly something being hidden here.
  21. Last year a buddy of mine bought a '70 Nova with a GMP 572 620hp. Went with him to pick it up. Got to drive it part of the way back. Amazing how hare the thing pulls..... even on the hwy in 4th gear at 70mph.
  22. Not to get into any type of pissing match, but why can you not bring yourself to do so??? I can't just always vote for one party, because that party does not always have the best candidate. That's the biggest problem with a 2 party system. It causes people to vote for a person despite differences of opinions. Cheers! For something this important, I wish more people would be more open minded and put more focus and thought in their votes.... don't get me wrong, a lot do put effort into it, but there's still a lot out there that don't, or just don't care.
  23. That may be a good thing
  24. No, I will be voting McCain/Palin for sure. I put myself as a independant and look at each candidate equally. The more I hear about Obama, the less I want him in office. He is just too far left. Yeah, he's a good talker, too bad 80% of his promises, he will have no control over if elected. Congress makes the laws. Our economy was good until 2 years ago... Dems ruled congress starting in '06. Bush warned of the housing situation back in '03, was overturned by Dems. McCain again warned in '05 (both tried to do something about it and both were shot down). Regardless, overall it was fault of both parties. Also I cannot see any good out of a Obama/Pelosi/Reed/Frank tie in. That will not be good. And while Obama is a good talker, I have yet to see anything that proves he has more or better experience than Palin. Now with Biden, I don't trust him with anything. He has went from saying many things bad about Obama including that he is not experienced enough in the primaries to now saying the opposite of course since he is picked as VP. Back to Palin, she is really getting the blunt end of the stick from the media. They are pulling out all stops on the most rediculous stories about Palin to bring her down, yet would they dare do what to the Obama campaign? I have never seen so much biasness before, it's insane. McCain and Palin both have and believe in good values, and values I fully agree with. I know not everyone agree's with em, and that's the great thing about this nation, that we are able to pick and choose who we want. I hope everyone will look through all the mumbo jumbo, read between the lines, do research about each candidate and make a honest non biased pick, then vote in that matter and of the better of the nation in the long run as a whole, and not on one's personal agendas.
  25. They are 17's right now, and I hope they stay. I might have to become a priuschat.com member so that I can correct and explain some of their Volt "Facts"
