  1. hrmmm... i love diesel... something like the corvette could have 40 mpg and still 400 hp... would be nice to see this in a performance sedan. but many people equate diesel with dirt, or smoke, things that are worse for enviornment
  2. lt1, lt4, ls1, ls2, ls3, ls4, ls6, ls7 GM permium v8's run on premium... gm truck v8s run on regular thats the way gm's 8 cyl go...
  3. yea thats it, like i said i was driving by in a bus... the front looks pretty bad... but the rear looks okay
  4. So we have a couple of vehicles over here that are not avalible in the united states. first of, i'll start with the zeta impala, i wish i had pictures to show you, but it looks confused between a current impala (rear looks the same as current gen including tail lights.) and the front doesnt really know whats going on, has the same side profile almost as the g8, and front lights look like bug eyes, not so pleasent. didnt really get a chance to look it over as i was driving by on a bus. the lumina, looks to be on the epsilon, looks kinda similar to the 08 malibu, but it looks like it wasnt given the same refinement as the malibu, although the tail lights might be a good replacement for those who dont appreciate the malibus tail lights. to me, the lumina looks like the 08 malibu, and the hyundai sonata merged, if you could imagine. guess i'm done ranting... but i'm glad the states gets higher quality vehicles then they do here.
  5. i dont know why they would call it a catera touring sedan coupe when they could just cut the sedan part out
  6. all did you know, that was I that made that purchase, and soon... I will be the happiest man alive...
  7. the question here is does GM want cadillac to go in which direction... the direction of porcshe where every model is a disgrace to the original? or are we talking about a car maker more along the lines of bently Rolls Royce farrari lambergini who never try to sell to the little guy... and i cant see cadillac going that route... it seems to me that having the CTS and other models as its main desire is good for cadillac and good for GM... perhaps Zeta cadillacs will be amazing and outstanding... and with the ctc and alpha on their way, cadillac dealerships probably have all they can ask for.
  8. looks to me like Chrysler just warmed over its last truck... even the hood and grill look exactly the same, just now it has more defined creases...
  9. okay not bad, still prefer the rivira... this shot reminds me of the olds allure with a nicer side profile, but still bad backend
  10. looks like a 2003 Chevy SS concept rebadged...
  11. that looks like garbage compared to the rivira
  12. GM card is never advertised... and will never be shown in a quote and maybe carsdirect isnt giving you everything your entitled to... they mess up quite often
  13. if this is what they call mind boggling... that is sure a magnificiant vehicle... and a gateway for buick to design whatever, and the public will beg for more...
  14. the difference is... GEO has Chevy bowties on them... and i dont know if Toyota has changed its badge for the tundra, but if badge is what is important... some of their trucks may not count because they are sold at Toyota Truck dealerships rather then a toyota dealership, just as GMC trucks are sold at a different retailer then GM's Chevrolet trucks...
  15. perhaps what they ment was chryslers brand Jeep under Lutz's command was the first luxuary suv (Jeep grand Cherokee)... starting the suv Craze that the rest of Detroit enjoyed more then Chrysler
  16. is it just me or do some of these concept pictures look like Hummers version of kappa... lol the door and hood profile totally remind me of kappa... regaurdless tottally cool... its a close batmobile in batman forever... wish they'ed make that thing... but it might deter my wife to think about the jeep and get this thing
  17. my guess is... the turn around is finnished and awaiting products and retired liablity to be taken off the books... i say 2010 a 9 billion profit, and a 1 or 2% gain in market share in north amerca GM's got the camaro, G8, traverse, astra, maybe the alpha, ng lacross, ng aura, malibu, cobalt refresh, ng aveo?, maybe volt, possibly impala... GM looks like its got some tricks up its sleaves to weather this perfect storm...
  18. i mean why stop production of the magnum and similar "canceled" vehicles, and fleet them?
  19. why doesnt cerberus just use chysler as a fleet whore to stop losses while they totally redesign all the models
  20. i dont think DOHC has any value in large motors other then seeing high rpms without a bad idle... in smaller motors you can crank out more power per liter using gearing and higher rpms... but i thing DOHC isnt as necessary as you say... the LT5 had 4 cams per bank no? a very expensive engine for the power output... more cams dont always equate to more power or more fuel ecconomy, its another moving part and another drag on the actual efficincy that occurs in the combusion chamber...
  21. equally GM has balanced their v8 very nicely... i have driven an ls1 corvette and an ls2 corvette and 2 ls2 GTO's... and GM can control its noise, thundering idle and fuel efficency more so than anything in the corvettes class... the GTO is not so timid, but its not supposed to be
  22. if GM wanted to, it could really push the envelope with Caddillac, and show that pushrod is worth more... I didnt hear anyone complaining about the sixteen when it was on the table... that it had a pushrod Pushrod, is an expensive alternative that upper middle class want, but high class dont care about... its bragging rights...
  23. this is just ludacris... automakers sue california... automakers lose, automakers apeal it in the supream court... epa denys californias motion, california sues epa... california population sues california for buying GM fleet vehicles... are we seeeing any trends here...?
  24. the AMG SL55 that i've driven in gets about 14 mpg... sure its got some kick... it'll beat a corvette... but its nothing to brag about man... but the advantage pushrod has over DOHC is that it has less moving parts, and generally operates with more torque at lower rpms,... those extra moving parts, start to weigh a lot at 6,7 even 8 thousand rpms where dohc's actually make their power... pushrods are cheaper, stronger, and longer lasting then dohc... and i dont want to hear about your brothers girlfriends dad who has some 350k mile 1988 toyota camrola
