Renault, Toyota, VW Lead European Car Sales Decline
Newbiewar replied to Mr.Krinkle's topic in Industry News
so someone do explain how toyota is going to sell more cars this year then last if in just about every sales area... japan, europe, and usa are losing ground or keeping even... ceo is still holding firm they are predicted to catapult to the number 1 spot... gm is growing in areas they are declining in... -
don't know if its coincidence... or it is actually a transfer of consumer intrest but... in the past two weeks gms market capitalization has climbed 5 billion while toyota motors has fallen about 5 billion... wonder if the two are actually the same investors or just a coincidence good timing for gm to come out with a camry beater... when toyotas approval rating is droping

OnStar Stolen Vehicle Slowdown Service coming in '09
Newbiewar replied to Flybrian's topic in General Motors
it would be nice if gm could convince insurance companies to sponser the purchase of onstar... or give considerable discount... it really reduces risk... -
I'm spurised he didn't throw a little... fall asleep and roll it down a hill lol would have been nice to see a comment from hire up on that incident

this guy is on drugs... pres is the pr toyota needed to sell that junk... I mean... okay was it not obvious over a year ago... when chrysler was sitting on half a million vehicles the dealerships didn't want... that was a sign they need to build something different? okay build less... sure grow globally? excelent! but proof american cars are wanted globally... look at gm grow like crazy... gm is losing market share in the us... but hitting automotive records for number of vehicles sold annually... new product line... a blitz? just as toyota blitzed its way to the top... chrysler will do the same thing in 3 years chrysler will be nasty... but cerbrus should know I it grows too much it won't find a single buyer for anything over what daimler paid... and although its nice to split things up get more... it would ruin chrysler as a monument in automotive history lots of people love them... should be interesting

i think the reason for this colaberation is because of the previous daewoo presence in the old factory, may be cheap to tool it to build GMDAT cars...

Are we refering to value in certain cars over others? Well one could always begin with basic camry vrs 2007 malibu, dispite appearance, the malibu is a fine vehicle. It's 100,000 mile warranty puts it light years ahead as far as comitment from the manufacture goes. But beyond a commitment to see your product run flawlessly for 5 years, you'll find many long life components under the hood 4cyl or v6, for example a timing chain... traditionally a chain will last the lifetime of the vehicle, toyota uses a belt to power its dual camshafts... these belts are often recomended by manufactures to replace every 45,000 to 60,000 miles. these can cost upwards of 800$ to replace or repair. Or you'll find your Spark plugs, are irriduim tipped, meaning that maximum spark is achievable with this highly conductive materal and these spark plugs are recoginzed for lasting at least 100,000 miles, and thats what GM recomends they be replaced at. On toyotas most expensive line, they only use platnum which is what was in most vehicles five to ten years ago. To continue on with different reasons why someone should purchase a malibu over a camry, I will also focus your attention at saftey aspects. The malibu is equipt with bla bla bla.. i'm tire i'm going to bed.. i'll finnish this in a couple weeks when i get back to the house

Pontiac G8 to start at $27,595 | Ordering Guide
Newbiewar replied to Lamar's topic in Heritage Marques
well its made by borg warner not really GM... GM just uses them the one thats in your z06 should only be good for 450 hp... thus a problem... The one in the viper got a little bit stronger design due to the extra power of the v10 but from what i understand the 03-04 cobras and the Corvettes, they should be the same transmission except for different size gears... -
thats what companies like cerbrus do... cut costs, change a companies financial standings dramatically... they are willing to go to extreme measures to make things profitable... and because UAW doesnt really have a grip on Cerbrus's wallet, they are almost useless... striking Chrysler doesnt hurt Cerbrus, it only hurts Chrysler... or in other words... striking only hurts Chryslers employees...

im confused... 2 way... does the sierra have a remote starter for the key fob?

i was implying that somehow some way driving your car hard like that skip shift is trying to eliminate, encourages your t56 troubles... but regardless i have no experiance with the transmission. but with that asside, i'd say we should hang out but i'm gonna be out at holoman airforce base for a while, then going to tobin wells -
well... look who your talking about... the same company you could use Genuine GM parts to fix their cars... and your complaining about a slogan? its not the first time they have stolen slogans either... baseball and apple pies...

with that being said... can manufactures sign a different union to handle the workers? for example... UAW strike... (just for argumenative sake) could the parent company sign Teamsters or CAW to manage the employees instead of UAW when it came time to sign contracts? if that were true... why dont the unions bargin for the lowest bidder like that?
-
if i remember correctly... its not yet
-
not to shabby, kinda puts the vehicle in persepctive... i think its the most attractive... what it fails to mention about the gps... if the car has onstar you can get the verbal navigation, and its a lot safer to drive with someone telling you, turn here, go straight... then looking on a stupid screen in the middle of your car... its like trying to use a map, and drive at the same time... kinda dangerous
-
see this one is going to be a landslide... i think the options for making the right poll arent avalible
-
naa i was just kidding, but she reminds me of one of me ex european gf's

It gets better Strike warning goes up at Chrysler Commentary: Auto workers remind Cerberus that old rules still apply By MarketWatch Last Update: 3:30 PM ET Oct 8, 2007 SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Not much of a honeymoon for Chrysler's new owners. Just five months after private-equity heavyweight Cerberus Capital Management L.P. took the bulk of the slumping car company off Daimler's (DAI) hands for a cool $7.4 billion, the United Auto Workers have given management until Wednesday to come up with a new labor contract. If they don't, they've got a full-blown, old-fashioned strike on their hands. Leading the charge is UAW president Ron Gettelfinger, fresh from battle with General Motors (GM). The way things work in Detroit, the deal he just hammered out with GM lays the groundwork for subsequent contracts, whether they be with Ford (F), Chrysler, or any of the dozens of auto parts companies whose workers are represented by the union. By making Chrysler their next target instead of Ford, the UAW is sending an unequivocal message to one of the world's leading private investment firms that new management does not mean a new game -- and the old rules still apply to labor. Ford and GM, with a long history of at times bloody labor showdowns, already know this. Even when the UAW and GM were making headway toward a new four-year labor pact last month, Gettelfinger and his team called a strike. It lasted only two days, allowed GM to draw down some bloated inventories and, most importantly, aimed to demonstrate serious backbone to the rank and file. The public show of force also made it a bit easier for 74,000 GM working stiffs to swallow the fact that Gettelfinger had let their employer off the hook for $50 billion in long-term health-care commitments to retirees. In return, they got assurances of job security, a pay raise and some bonus money -- provided they sign the new contract. Many of the same issues are on the table at Chrysler. And with Cerberus swinging around a fatter wallet than Chrysler ($60 billion in annual revenue from their holdings compared with $47 billion for Chrysler), the union is sensing there might be fatter stakes in the game. While the union has already tipped its hand on health care, it could decide to get even tougher with Chrysler on pay and efforts to protect American jobs from offshoring, items that would be harder to push in talks with Ford, financially the shakiest of Detroit's Big Three. But the union is also making painfully clear to Cerberus that buying a "legacy" U.S. car maker means more than just managing the brand. It also means managing labor relations with employees who bring their own costly baggage into the deal -- a lesson not lost on Daimler in its nine-year struggle to forge a winner from the battered U.S. auto industry.

and fly... you know the interesting thing is... if this was done with a honda dealership... you wouldnt see anyone complaining or making a big deal... no body pulling why not, because well honda does have high fuel ecconomy... highest in the industry (because they dont offer trucks, and they have pretty decent cars) but... you wouldnt see anyone do that with a honda dealership, cause honda people are for the most part pretty relaxed, not nearly as egotysical as the modern toyota owner...
