TAF is here? Jeeeezus... Pretty much the same thing as having Wings.

Picture taken so no one will say I was REALLY drunk and seeing things when I tell the story later at a bar in Kent Narrows when a duck just waddles his ass in and chills for a minute. I offered him a drink.. but he had already had a few too many..

I love it too, but the fact of the matter is that I love Cadillac more.. and they need their independence, not to mention a weeee bit of logic MORE. Putting up a bunch of non-obtainable super-cars is not gonna sell cars as much as putting up a bunch of consumer focused ones will. Instead of ATS/C, ATS/C-V, ATS/C-V+.. there should be money focused on ATS/C 2.5 - 3.6L, ATS Wagon, ATS Convertible, ATS VSport, and certainly XT3, XT5, XT6, XT7, and CT7 and 8. CTS needs more variations. Where is a small sport roadster? They could do all of these things and not waste resources on a ATS-V+. Tell U the truth, I think it is absolutely POINTLESS until they solidify the line-up. They have the ATS and CTS-V. CT6 isn't supposed to get a V-Series, but the way it looks the 3.0L will be a screamer by default, I'm betting good money that we will see 0-60 times in the 4.0-4.3 second range with that (Keep in mind that the AWD 4400lb XTS-VSport with less torque is pulling in at 4.9). The Top of the line VSport (where it is supposed to stop) will be getting the TT V8, with a possible 500HP.

The real deal is that this is not a case of the car ignition slipping into AUX mode and disabling the airbags and the driver not being able to restart the car. The deal is that the ignition would slip into AUX mode once an accident head-on occurred. In fact the only time I could see someone not being able to coast out of multiple lanes is if they are in stop and go traffic, never even reaching a speed that would cause them a serious collision in the first place. "Flashers on, Hold up traffic." What I can't figure out is why the hell we are so dependendt on these thing to save our lives as opposed to simply driving proper in the first place. The first one was a Cobalt driven by a drunk girl doing 69 miles an hour in a 25 m.p.h. zone. She died. But I have to ask, in that situation was it car's airbags at fault or the girl being drunk and doing almost 3X the speed limit? Let's delve deeper. Since GM is found liable, the car czars going over GM, supposedly with a fine tooth comb... since responsibility still remains with the Government that owned a controlling stake in the company for 5 years... shouldn't the Government be held so as well? N.H.T.S.A, after two Cobalt crashes, investigated the cause, each time raising the possibility of a defect. They met with GM but never opened a broader investigation into whether the car was defective. Never forcing GM to actually do a Recall. Ouch??? Wings??? Personally I'm sick of the drama.. but we all kno that the some won't let to go away. You can bet the press is perpetuating the issue. This country absolutely hates it's corporations, while very often at the same time loving foreign ones. Seriously. If the Revolutionary war were fought today, you can bet good money we'd be sending tax dollars to the Queen

As I said in the ATS-V Review thread.. I am seriously doubting this will happen for several reasons. 1) The LS7 will be a crate motor, but I doubt that GM wants to hand-build it for any more than special buyers who want to pony up that cash. 2) Cadillac wants its own engines.. hence the development and seemingly dive deeper into Twin Turbos 3) To the point above.. because Cadillac is trying to build numbers in other markets, particularly China, Europe and S.Amer... displacement will matter in pricing/penalties. I expect the 6.2L LT4 to also be a short lived product of at most, an engine to only be for this generation of CTS.. which is only 3 years away from a new model altogether 4) Only 500HP and 481 lbs-ft of bump. In truth.. they could simply turn up the boost on the LF4 and get 500HP and certainly more torque. Think about it... the TTV6 is only.. and I said ONLY 36 HP away for that LS7's numbers. Boost, and a less restrictive exhaust and U are there with minimal investment 5) Cadillac needs a more fleshed out line for the ATS to move product to the mainstream.. a VSport with a detuned LF3 making 360-380HP would make more sense
-
The thing is that I don't actually see the LS7 being used in this case because of its size relative to Cadillac's desire to sell this car in markets that tax based on displacement. I also believe a detuned version of the LF3 would be the better way to go. A Vsport instead of a V+. The car I would go V+ with would be CTS.. and I'd do that with a 700hp version of the upcoming TTv8 with AWD. I'm all for performance, but the ATS needs obtainable realistic variants that will be bought.. not probable $85,000 super-niche ones

While I would love for Caddy to go that route, as a realist I think that we are a long time away from such a thing.. Cadillac simply has too many other things to get in order. I will add that I agree with your assessment that JDN is most likely seeing Benz as a more direct competitor than BMW. More so because of clientele and heritage. Cadillac and Benz are more similar, altho I see the reasons for going after BMW most likely had to do with their youth appeal.

I had a conversation like this with a guy named EDGE over at GMI (ironically his avatar is the same as yours ) when I was posing over there as LovelyMoon last year.. as I told him.. the Avalon is no faster than the Impala V6.. after driving mine for 33K miles at this point.. the power comes on linear and strong without actually having to get into it. I have been saying this since about 5K miles to.. and after 15K.. it felt like a V8 Adaptive transmission starts off lazy. It took me and the Taurus 6 months or so because I don't put on my miles to get aclimated to each other after the Aura. Same transmission with a different final gear made things just a little wierd. And the Ford 3.5 doesn't have as much low end grunt as the 3.6 in the Aura did. ^^^^^^^^^^^^This. It happens and then its not.. if your are an aggressive driver LOL
-
I love this car.. and can't wait to drive one. It will be an appetizer for the CTS-V I'm gonna replace my current VCoupe with. The only thing I think Cadillac should have possibly done is make the interior slightly more aggressive looking. As it stands, it looks perhaps too "classy.." Like a Grand Tourer as opposed to a Grand BRAWLER. and yeah.. I think the same thing when I see Tony Roma

Yes I have cooled down since back in the day.. I just have too many good things going on to put people truly in their place. But hey!!! This is a welcome party for my old AWCC/MTForum/CF alumini El Kabong.. YUP YUP!!! And yes Olds.. I did say NO WINGS.. NO Badstang.. NO Grand Turismo!!! No Billdeaner!!!

Wings is an old "friend," but he would troll the hell out of this place.. and C&G would have their first BANNED member in a long time I think BTW Olds.. can U make your sig pic slightly smaller??? NOTE: just found a new feature by mistake.. If U have to add to what U just posted... U don't have to hit edit apparently.. it just adds it to the post instead of making a totally new post. And Phone optimization is very nice. Love this software I aint the boss of you, dude. I might throw a hissy fit though And I dont think you really care what I have to say about the matter either ..but thanx for the polite answer anyway...I respect you for that. Test Drive: 2016 Cadillac ATS-V takes on the BMW M3by Horatiu Boeriu When Cadillac unveiled the ATS-V at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, the automotive world was eager to see how it fares against the new BMW M3 and M4. After all, the ATS-V used the almighty E90/E92 M3 as a benchmark in order to build a sports car that doesn’t have to compromise between driving on the road and on the track. To see how the ATS-V stacks up against the F80 M3 and F82 M4, we headed to Road America race track in Wisconsin, with a pit stop in Milwaukee for some back-roads driving. Before jumping in the car, we spent some time with Cadillac’s folks to learn more about the development of the ATS-V The man behind Cadillac’s sporty coupe and sedan is Tony Roma, a Cadillac engineer who’s had a hand in all the V-models and is the chief engineer of the upcoming CTS-V as well. He was also the chief engineer on the Camaro ZL1 and managed the engine program for Cadillac’s CTS-V World Challenge cars. And he’s a club racer. So the man has all the ingredients and skills to create one of the sportiest Caddys to date. Roma was very upfront about the previous M3 being the target, as far as driving dynamics. “We benchmarked the E92 M3 from a performance perspective, but the goal was not to out-BMW BMW,” Roma said. “We wanted to create a car that offers the perfect balance between the road and the track. We call it bi-modal,” Roma added. E92’s precise steering and tight chassis were at the top of the requirements list. More at LINK

You have $35k: Spec a (New) Camaro, Mustang, or Challenger

Would you go with the turbo-4, V6, or stripper V8 model? Hmmm ... hadn't really thought of it since I'm not in the market for a new car ... & probably never will be again. HOWEVER, I'd probably either go with the V6 or a stripper V8 ... & of those 2, probably the V6. I'm thinking the 2.0 is gonna be a fun little muthaeffer too tho... Basing my experience with the ATS 2.0 -

Yeah, but it would take about 30 minutes to make the Camaro look exactly like the chop. I have never left a vehicle I've purchased untouched. Not one. The Stingray for instance, within 2 days of owning it I had: 1) Blacked-out taillights 2) Blacked-out Chrome Strip on front 3) Put front Valance/Splitter on Carbon Flash 4) Tinted Windows 5) Put tinted overlays on all four marker lights and two rear reflectors by week 1.. had tuned it and removed CAGS As an enthusiast, I will never be happy with the way a car comes from the factory. There is always something I want to personalize. While I never leave anything I have factory, or the way I bought it. I've never overhauled something so quick! Are you also not a huge fan of chrome?? I've been 'diping my chrome pieces in black. Chrome(not on wheels) always just looks cheap to me. What % tint did you put on her? I will never have a vehicle without tinted windows anymore. Not after the first time I had m windows tinted, I'd never go back. Just my thing. These cars, despite them being humble Chevys are quite high profile.. so people notice the hell out of 'em. I normally get right on it as soon as I buy 'em.. as U can see. I do like chrome tho.. I think the Impala has a perfect amount. Well, in all honesty, I don't see the extra ~30K extra for the Z06 over a Z51 either, but the grille looks a million times better. Since I blacked mine out... I think that the are pretty much equal.. just different takes on style. Anyway as for the price and bump in hp... Yeah if I were just buying now and not having to Trade, then I would have bought the Z06 from the start. -
Despite our difference.. I'm glad U made the jump. I didn't send and invite to a few people who are even more Fanboish than myself LOL

Yes.. I was referring to the grille work. I personally think the Impala is one of the best looking cars on the road.. and that's not because of my bias either The Impala is a great looking car. I think that and the Regal GS are two of the best looking FWD vehicles on the road. RIght up there with the Mazda 3 and 6. No doubt... but the Mazda 3??? Naaah. While I think that its interior and front and rear put it in a class slightly above mainstream compact.. the sides.. and overall profile leave me effin cold. I mean seriously... talk about overhang.. reminds me of a size 14 Chuck Taylor High-top -
