  1. Fiat Chrysler will abandon its 5-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty in the United States for the 2016 model year in favor of a 5-year/60,000-mile guarantee. The move follows a similar change in March by General Motors, which reduced the 5-year powertrain warranties on its Chevrolet and GMC vehicles from 100,000 to 60,000 miles. “Following changes already made by competitors, FCA US is adjusting powertrain warranty coverage for 2016 model year vehicles to be more consistent with industry practices,” FCA said in a statement to Automotive News. “For 2016MY, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram Truck vehicles with gasoline engines will be covered by a 5-year/60,000 mile powertrain warranty.” An FCA spokeswoman said that the automaker’s basic bumper-to-bumper warranty will remain at 3 years/36,000 miles. Fiat vehicles come with a 4-year/50,000-mile warranty. http://www.autonews.com/article/20150527/RETAIL05/150529876/fiat-chrysler-reducing-powertrain-warranties-to-60-000-miles-for-2016?template=mobile For those who don't remember at Mt.. when GM did this certain members were talking more trash than a lil bit. Let their back pedalling begin.. Lol
  2. I'm just impressed that since moving over here there has not been a single thread on the level of what Wings and company have been filling MT up with, and also none of the trolling, flaming, and brand bashing that MT was such a hotbed for. I mean, yes, people, including myself, may mention they don't like a brand, but they aren't going out of their way to try and tell everyone the brand is awful, they just allow people to have different opinions. It is really refreshing, seeing adult conversation taking place. Even Casa, though he may still be a little extreme in some of his views, is a much calmer and more concise poster (no offense, Casa, but I think you know that you got right in there with the rest of them on a lot of the over the top arguing over there). It shows pretty clearly that some people were very true in their statements that they were playing to the audience that they had, and not necessarily posting the way they would have preferred. all Good. I'll be the first to admit I earned my reputation.. but most of what earned it for me occurred before I returned to MTForum. If U or anyone takes the time.. U'll see that I was, in many cases, egged on by a few dickheads who seemingly were trying to bait me into an argument that would get me banned again. During the time I was away from MT posting at GMI or CF.. I calmed down and returned to just loving cars.. and only correcting idiot commentary made by fanboyish fools that lacked logic or reason. Wings??? At CF.. I dunked that fool's head in the toilet daily.. but he kept coming up for air. I like that personally. I like a mofo who can take an asswhipping and still be ready for more an hour later. Some of the posters at MT.. and now here.. one in particular.. drives a Charger... would bait me so much I thought he was my girlfriend and he was gonna tell me he was pregnant soon. Then they would go cry to the mods to "look what Casa said.." People like that are straight BITCHES. either way.. f@#k the clowns.. lets talk about CARS. What'cha selling??? Well, I sold a new '15 Highlander and a '10 HHR yesterday, today's been pretty slow, though, thus more posting today. U work for a Toyota dealer???
  3. David Caldwell is Denying ATS-V+
  4. The LS7 is lighter than the LS3, which is already like 50 lbs lighter than the LT1. Cadillac engineers are really REALLY serious about weight loss. Fully dressed the LT1 comes in at 465lbs Fully dressed the LS7 comes in at 458lbs I seriously don't see a reason why a tunable, AFM, DI having LT1 with a baseline of 455HP would be passed over for an LS7, which has been around now for a decade, for a measly 7 lbs I was mistaken, the LS7 is not lighter than the LS3. Must have been something I picked up in an old Corvette Z06 article. All the talk about lightweight components and what not. I had the LS3 vs LT1 weight difference about right though. All good. I get your point.. but the thing is that Cadillac doesn't need to go that far back into the GM parts bin. The LS7 is a great engine, but its time to move on. SOme times we hold on to stuff like that. I listen to my dad on a regular basis talk about the 409 Chevy BB and 425 Buick Nailhead. Legendary, but times have changed
  5. I get that, but as much as I love driving, and especially driving fast, I'm crap with a stick. I've never been able to really tell when I should be shifting, and I get nervous with the extra pedal that I'm going to hit the wrong one at the wrong time or something. So, even if it wasn't as great an automatic as it is, I'd still have to go for the auto. I had a girlfriend once who was trying to teach me to drive a stick better and she kept telling me to listen and I would hear when to shift, but I could never hear a danged thing. I was very thankful for the dash light on her car that told me when to shift. LOL.. yeah Sean.. stick to automatics. I personally LOVE driving manuals, but only in non traffic scenarios. Balto-Wash is not the best place for a stick. That being said.. my M7 ran up against a 2010 (stock)convertible Viper (I asked when we got off the exit) the other day and came out on top. Admittedly he did have a 130lb passenger in the car with him, but Sasha (my Stingray) was hitting all her gears in the right spots. A Stingray with 500HP vs a 600HP Viper. U should have heard the sounds coming out of the cars.. MUSIC.

  8. Cp ... Drive the A8 in the Stingray or Z06 and it will become clearer. As an owner of the M7 I can admit to being somewhat envious of the Automatic drivers. When I go out to buy the new CTSv I will not even remotely miss or wish for a manual in that car.
  9. Son of a Bitch.. All this time I could have been cursing Smk out. Muthaf@#ker
  10. Plus... WTF am I even thinking??? The LT1 is damn near 500HP stock. It takes only a few parts and a tune to pull those numbers in the Stingray. Why would GM even consider putting a more expensive to build engine in an ATS-V+???
  11. Photo Credit: Corvette Blogger I knu she wanted one
  12. Please tell me that is sarcastic. If we have to take one of the troll triumvirate I would definitely takes Wings over the other two, but then I'd take a bullet to a lung before one to the heart or the brain, as well. There's only so much EcoBoost one man can take. LOL^^^ This. Having posted for over 10 years with Wings I can honestly say that I'd rather deal with his predictable BS than the other two. Only real reason I didn't ask him to come over when I sent the invite to the rest of y'all was out of courtesy to ElKabong.
  13. Yep. I will also add that the info comes from a document from back in 2012. The info could have easily been a case study before they settled on the TT3.6L LF4 which wasn't even done yet. I will state again that I think the 464HP ATS-V is fine as a top engine for now, and that the thing they need to do is put the CT6 AWD system in and avail in the VSeries cars, both the CTS and ATS, though I'm betting that with the ATS and CTS really only having 2 more years on the market before the next overhaul.. the Gen 2 ATS and Gen 4 CTS (under new names CTx) will have that feature added Worrying about an LS7 in the ATS is silly.. and priorities seriously need to be focused elsewhere at Cadillac right now., Oh, I had missed that part, I thought it was recent. In that case it probably was an LS7 but they opted to not go in that direction. Well. that would have made the most sense back then. Use what U have." I'm betting good money that they probably have a mule running around Milford with an LS9 in the CTS

  15. MT is like CF, without me cursing people out in FULL uncensored and having to click 20X to get a post up. I'm here because its a controlled site where we can talk about cars, and as a bonus.. we have great software. Cursing isn't allowed, and thus far I have had little reason to open up on anyone. I will admit one new arrival from there almost got it.. but I think he ignored me so all is good. I won't ignore anyone.. because my skin too think to give a Eff what someone says about me.. my mother.. my kids.. my dog.. or my cars.
  16. ^^^ Absolutely. Buick and Opel should be so in sync that they have everything the other has barring maaaaaaaaybe 2 vehicles per market. As it stands Buick and Opel compete only in China, and Buick is winning
  17. Kinda my reaction too. It's always been exclusive and hand built. It's still competitive with 505 hp and a 7000 rpm redline. It still sounds incredible. Just last year it was a big part of turning the 5-year-old Camaro into a world beater all over again with the Z/28 package that pulled an incredible upset to become Motor Trend's Best Driver's Car. Frankly, it's a better engine than the C6 Corvette really deserved. Thing is the LS7 is a Chevy engine. Its a known Chevy engine. It shouldn't be put into a Cadillac now, because Cadillac is trying to differentiate itself from the rest of GM. As a luxury car buyer I want Cadillac to build their own engines for superficial reasons even tho I kno the SBC is as technologically advanced as anything on the market.
  18. I hardly think that the thinking is that Cadillac needs to be "saved" with an LS7. I think that enthusiasts naturally love big engines. At least in the U.S. That being said.. I still believe that this is a hoax.. and Motor Trend got the info wrong. Whatever happens.. I win either way. I would love to see it, but at the same time I truly believe that Cadillac needs to go its own route and the TTV8 is the way to go.. even eventually in the CTS-V which is getting a SC 6.2L. It is a necessity if they are going to be a global luxury company simply because of the global market rules. Even the U.S.A rules will soon look down on V8s unless they are getting 4 Cylinder numbers. A smaller Twin Turbo Set-Up would allow for a smaller 4 to 5 Liter, and GM cylinder deactivation to make even those larger V8s be real 4 cylinders for the EPA test cycles. Right now.. a 6.2L shutting down 1/2 of the cylinders effectively yields U a theoretical 3.1L engine, but the 3.0L Twin Turbo is the only six-cylinder engine to combine turbocharging with cylinder deactivation... we are looking at a 1.5L. That is a real 4cyl capable of 400HP/400lb-ft of torque. And stop/start technologies only make it more so. I am very excited about the achievements in fuel economy with this engine for them to have gone thru the effort.
  19. a Job is a Job.. and next time U complain about what U have to wear to work.. think about what this guy has to go thru just to leave the house without people making fun of him.. including his kids
  20. I owned a Gen 5 for 3 years and never had an issue with entry and exit unless I was drunk. As for the visibility, the only time I had issues with seeing out of it was within the first 2-3 days pf owning it. After that I simply adjusted my driving to accommodate the styling. Maybe its because back in the 90s I used to drive around with effin louvers on the back window of an F-Body... that I don't think its that big a deal having to adjust. I think enthusiast cars need to be driven by people who realize that certain adjustments need to be made. Its like people complaining that the M5, RS7, CTS-V, or E63AMG get weak fuel economy.. No $h! Sherlock
  21. E2XX front-/all-wheel-drive large-car architecture .... uuuuumm anyone else thinking...
  22. From what I'm seeing in pictures alone I am thinking that we have a winner. The Gen5 was sexy as hell.. this one is "Sexy after a year long stint at Gold's Gym.. with J. Lo's Personal trainer." Yup... Both give me the same feelings
  23. Interesting...I have the exact same feeling about you. You're a cancer that was the downfall of many forums already. I would be happy to see you leave again. #1 Keep to PM if U have to say it. #2 I've been here for almost 10 years and brought the majority of posters over here recently taking special care not to bring over posters I felt were.. well .. like U. #3 No Cross Burnings or use of the word ***
