If Rivian has property rights and technologies that are worth buying into why wouldn't GM want to get its hands on that too? Especially if the cost is cheap. Its also possible the GM simply wants to buy into it so it can, oust the owners, force them to cease any other collaborations, trash part of the tech, effectively killing a potential competitor to their own EV or Gas/Diesel Trucks. Its certainly not unheard of.. and God knows GM and Ford used to do it back in the Sloan years to help consolidate the industry for a time.

Its no secret that I don't like U and wish that U and your kind would all move to Germany and never be allowed back into this country. The price point was done because the car was moving into a segment that it had invented, but had been absent from for all of 20 years. Also Any moron can see that the CT6 when equipped like a 7 Series is almost the exact same price. A Platinum CT6 3.0L is almost spot on the 740i here and the CT6 Platinum V8 will most likely be the same price as a 750i.. Oh and this is the Luxury interior. The Premium and Platinum are equipped with better materials.

Again U are trippin. I actually have doubts that U even seen a CT6 interior let alone spent any time in one. Now again, I can not and will not speak for the bottom trims of the CT6 as I have only ventured into the cockpits of the Premium Lux and PLatinum.. but both of those are easily on par with the 7Series, S-Class, A8.. and beats the Jag XJ . The only time I will give the Germans an edge is the choices of colors and textures avail. Cadillac definitely needs to offer more choices in regards to colors and such, even thought I hate that BS quilted look, some see that gaudy design as luxury, where I feel like I just stepped into a Bulgarian Whore house

GM really doesn't have to do anything serious to the Chassis in transitioning it to the CT5 to make it better than what BMW, Lexus, Benz, or Audi have going. I'd say that I'm betting good money that they have utilized techniques from the Omega platform to lighten AlphaII a bit and incorporate AWD this time around for the V. Let me me be clear.. my RWD 16 CTS-V is not only leaps better than my two previous '05, '09 and 12 Sigma STS and CTS-Vs, but they genuinely are better in performance and versatility than everyone of my friends or colleagues Ms, AMGs, or RSs. The only one that I feel has a leg up on the CTS-V currently is the Panamara Turbo, and that has a lot to do with the AWD and Dual Clutch. The price wasn't worth it to me.. and I the extra $50K I used towards trading my Corvette Z51 in for a Z06

Rumorpile: GM May Sell Distribution Rights of Holden
Cmicasa the Great replied to William Maley's topic in Heritage Marques
True about the marketing when U think about it.. but that was for the time.. some 70-40 years ago. People were more loyal.. and ironically that loyalty kept them fed. Same thing goes for America.. the other English colony. Its why they scrutinize the smallest thing from Cadillac.. but see a BMW not starting as no big deal.. CUE=Bad Engineering. S#!tty Engines needing to be replaced=German Excellence.- 14 replies

Rumorpile: GM May Sell Distribution Rights of Holden
Cmicasa the Great replied to William Maley's topic in Heritage Marques
Jesus.. why does everything always always always go to .. "end up a Chinese?" Anyway.. I never ever understood why GM had Regional names for the sake of nostalgia or loyalty at all. A simple marketing campaign 70 years ago would have cleared up a lot of BS and had brands like Chevy and Buick highly recognized brands in those countries in the first place. Holden? For what purpose? With exception to the Commodore, the most majority of Holden's vehicles have always been imported Opels, Daewoo, or Isuzu rebages anyway. Even the Isuzu Trooper was rebadged as a Holden. Those companies are all gone or reworked.. Australia is simply not a manufacturing friendly country.. and they slit their own throats.. as I don't think any major manufacturer is still there. Toyota left a few years ago as well.- 14 replies

Look I went all out and explained my point of view on the Regal GS. I love the car's handling, looks, and interior.. just think the engine could be more powerful. As a daily driver it would certainly suffice. Possibly more so than even my Impala, which is fast on its own with an earlier version of the 3.6L. In a smaller car.. hell in the Camaro RS.. it works.. is a quick lil whip.. but I just think that if the GS is the TOP.. the TOP performance vehicle in the Buick line it should be afforded the TT3.6L. The Kia is not my thing. I find it weird looking, derivative, its a Hyundai, which I hate almost as much as Toyota, if not equally.. and if I wanted a NEW RWD Sedan for almost $40K I'd just go get a Charger RT.. if NEW wasn't a necessity.. I'd go get a used '14-16 CTS-VSport.. a used '16-17 Chevy SS.. a used '13 CTS-V.. So many options.

Just write a check or swipe the Gold card For Godsake and stop with this crazy talk. Damn sure didn't stalk your car buying habits... I don't even remember who U are. Have we ever posted together before? ARE U EVEN A REAL PERSON?
-

A Brief Note from Your Friendly Staff Writer
Cmicasa the Great replied to William Maley's topic in The Lounge
At one time I tried to live up to your contribution.. but it was too hard.. and only lasted a few articles?. Thanks for your dedication. And Good Luck with this new endeavor -
Its not even necessary. The problem with the GS's V6 option is that it is a GS. The car should have a specially treated engine. Its a great car.. handles well.. looks premium sport.. nice interior.. even with the 3.6L "Camaro engine" (which I'm sure is GM's justification) it would be so much more with the LF3 from the XTS-VSport. That stands for the XT5 and XT6 as well. A GS with 410HP and 369ft-lb and 300lbs less than the XTS-VSport would be a scorcher, and would be the rival that Buick needs to bang down the Audi S4. It would knock that 0-60 time from 5.8 to easily 4.2 seconds with the 9Speed
