  1. Good News.. U found your way to Cheers and Gears after posting at Motor Trend Forum and all its $h!ty software Bad News... Wingsnut followed U
  2. Glad U read that poster his rights. The Terrain is fine.. sells absolutely splendid and is literally getting a complete redo for 2017. GM doing refreshes on both the Silvy and Sierra so soon, while they both on the uptick, make me nostalgic for my younger days when cars never looked the same from one year to the next. There was always something different each year. This last 20 years of a car looking the same for 5+ years is absolutely insulting to enthusiasts.. and a change here or there pulls in new buyers
  3. People who are really into off-roading these vehicles would mos likely simply by the Z71. Some would even go so far as to lift them anyway. I think for the sake of fuel economy.. and the fact that 90% of these vehicles are family cruisers and GM is fighting CAFE, and as an actual owner of this vehicle.. I think they did the right thing.
  4. yup.. so does my Catherina. I think if it bothered me I'd paint it the same color before getting rid of it. As it turns out.. I actually like the look
  5. Its a rumor of 13 cars. In truth it could be less than that. Either way even if it is 25 cars.. outta 10,000 ??? Why the do U care? Let Chevy deal with it via warranty.. their money and their reputation. Why are U so concerned??? U buying one in a few days or what?
  6. ccap Point is that its a dead horse. Honestly if it is a real issue Chevy is working on it, and it has done nothing to deter the majority from buying a Z06. 2016s are shipping now, and if they have the suddenly have no instance of this then I would expect a GM recall on the 2015s by December. Personally I think it has more to do with people not being able to "out of the box" respect the car... In situations on the track, especially these journalist, like Drew pointed out, 90% of them simply do not have the wherewithal to handle this type of car at the limits they are pushing them. It could, as I've pointed out in the countless MT Forum threads with U in attendance," be that they are abusing the $h! outta these cars by simply not knowing where the rev limits are. For a Z06 Man7: and for my own reference purposes.. Z51 Man7
  7. 13 out of 10,000 is not .84% (or 1 in 120)... I don't understand the math you used. 13/10,000 is .13% or 1 in 769. Perhaps I am wrong.. I came up with those numbers outside of following the methodology used here http://www.mathpages.com/home/kmath498/kmath498.htm yanked the other numbers from Autocar
  8. ccap.. its not even the question of a "pissing match.." but I always question the motives of the people who post this BS. Out of more than 10,000 Z06s produced.. I think the number of engine issues has bee 13.. The statistical data on that means that about .85% of the LT4s that have been produced have had an issue.. That's about 1 in 120 cars. By comparison.. Audi runs a 3.7% change of engine failure or 1 in ever 27 cars, Toyoyta has a .58% or 1 in 171.. while Benz has a .84% rate of 1 in 120 or right there with the Z06. That is Benz versus a singular specialty car with 650HP in its first year of production. $h! happens.. here is a Viper with the same issue. Go figure.. no news or hoopla over it. http://www.viperalley.com/forum/viper-discussions-gen-v/213650-another-motor-catastrophic-failure.html
  9. Hah, I know exactly where that picture was taken and was likely there that day. All 6 pictures Drew??? I doubt it.. LOL
  10. OK.. $40K for a mid-size when I got my full size Impala LTZ for less with almost everything except the AWD option (WTF Chevy even tho I don't want). Let me say again.. there is a reason why Lincoln is a Dead Car Walking and it has a lot to do with Ford brand itself
  11. Items Of Interest From 2016 Cadillac ATS Sedan Order Guide Free-Flow RPO Code Description 5LQ LPO, Slotted Brake Rotor and Pad Upgrade Package VVX LPO, Vsport Red Brake Caliper, Slotted Rotor and Pad Upgrade Package The 5LQ is not available with Vsport Red Brake Caliper, Slotted Rotor and Pad Upgrade Package (VVX), and the VVX is not available with the Slotted Brake Rotor and Pad Upgrade Package (5LQ) nor the 17″ x 8″ polished aluminum wheels (Q5W). What’s more, the order guide for the 2016 Cadillac ATS Coupe does not have either the 5LQ nor the VVX options. GM Authority
  12. No they shouldn't. What they should do is simply leave the size alone.. but scallop the insides in a way to accommodate more room in the rear so that people who seem to be buying in this segment suddenly will have room for their sudden new found chauffeuring duties. In the area of sales.. the ATS will be vastly helped when Cadillac gets on the ball and starts offering more variations of the car. Of course THAT.. has to apply to the entire line-up.. a convertible, a diesel, all the niches they can get into simply to cover all the bases possible. Having the Camaro convertible proves that the Alpha platform is capable of convertible.. despite the fact that U.. U SMK.. said that Alpha was not able to accommodate a convertible a few months back.
  13. What I'm wondering is whether they are going to go with Chrome or Black in the painted areas in between the grille and lights or is the painted the new norm overall. I'm betting chrome on the mid-models and black on the LS
  14. Why? The 6 Speed is actually quite nice, especially when a tweak here or there is performed, OR.. the driver simply allows the Tranny to learn his driving style.
  15. Chevy is being proactive on this one. A refresh just 2 years after the debut of a model that is doing quite well.. despite new competition from its most immediate rival AND.. and this is a big AND.. the Colorado certainly getting the "I dunno.. I like this size too" debate from prospective buyers on the Chevy lots. They also didn't screw anyone over in making these upgrades the way they kinda did with the 2015i Yukon/Tahoe/Escalade in giving the same year, hence the "i" later models optional features that weren't avail on the original batch. Waiting 2 years is just enough time to allow some people to be ready to get out of their current Silvy into a new one, thus also pushing sales even more.
  16. Tidbit.. Cadillac ATPs were helped last month when they went the German luxo route and shut down 56% of their fleet sales in a planned reduction.
  17. No that's not what I'm saying. I'm sayin that the dimensions, or rather a partial uptick of those dimensions, will likely make there way here. In other words the ATS-L is 3.3 inches longer than the ATS. I could see the next ATS getting a 1.7 inch bump in size kinda the way the new Malibu is larger than the last to shut people up about the interior space... unless GM keeps the same packaging and figured a way to still get more interior room out as the 3series has.
  18. They will. Again.. the ATS is a product of the OLD GM. The actual car was designed in 2006 and was set for release in '09 before $h! hit fan. I actually am starting to think that due to the impending changeover of names.. and the fact that the model is ready for a full makeover, in what will be now, the next model year, 2017.. GM is not investing to much more money in the the ATS because the CT2(?) is already in the design booth. I think what they are gonna show up with is a car that is literally all the great points of the current ATS in its award winning chassis and dynamics.. but a slight bump up in size, probably the same size of the ATS-L over in China or a a split right down the middle to give it the same extra 1.3 inch bump of the 3series in WB to shut up the sudden jump in buyers who chauffeur their friends in this segment This is the seat room from the Chinese ATS-L
  19. Like CPtheNerd said.. the power in this Cruze will be quite a showing in this segment. The Mazda 3 carries 184hp/185lbs in its top engine (2.5L) and 155/150lbs in the base 2.0L. GM came up with a happy middle ground at 153/177lbs, not to mention that most likely.. based on their recent turbo undertakings.. the power and torque bands will likely be very early on the RPM run, and linear.
  20. nice... super nice. Looks like they miniaturized my Impala interior is looking to be class leading. Chevy just sorted out the winning formula for this segment.
  21. and my colleagues say all of that Smk... so I can say F**K MERCEDES BENZ!!!
  22. ^^^^ If U can't get the 464HP 3.6L TT up to 500+HP with just a few mods then I seriously think U need to trade in your Enthusiast Card.
  23. Shiiidt. I could have posted a pic of my Stingray for that one to be honest
  24. ^^^^ OH.. I agree.. ironically Chevy does tho. Don't go and get that Benz EFFED UP by a lowly Chevy now.
