  1. Is that all it is? Wow. Based on the trash talk from some I woulda thought it was TENS OF THOUSANDS OF UNITS. ...you know, like the advantage the GM half-tons have. well it is tens of thousands of units YTD (and YTD is the number that truly matters). Wings is correct in that regard that the Mustang is 26k units ahead of Camaro YTD and that is a sizable lead for this segment. There's probably not even 30k Gen-5 Camaros left to be built before production stops at the end of October/beginning of November. So there is basically zero chance of the Camaro catching Mustang this year. However, cheering that victory would be like me cheering for myself for winning a bicycle race against Lance Armstrong while Lance Armstrong has a broken leg. I don't believe that lead will be held as the new Camaro comes on full swing in the Springtime 2016 (traditionally when sport car sales heat up). Yeah Mustang is finally leading the numbers after losing for the last 5 years..
  2. The 42mpg EPA rating is actually a bit of a disservice to the Volt since the actual results can vary so widely.... it needs to be more of a range of efficiency rather than a single number. The rating was done on a conservative side because since day one, everything pertaining to this car has been a political maelstrom to disservice GM. In the current Volt I have friends and colleagues that see 50MPG regularly when the EV is done. I'm betting smart money that this one is gonna beat that number by at least 10 in tests. And THIS is why you don't try and squeeze every last molecule of fuel in a quest for paper mpg numbers and then shout it from the rafters. This car is a technological marvel, but we can't discount the fact that GM's conservative approach has helped the car punch above its weight mileage-wise. Well I'm also sure they saw the out and out LYING of Hyundai on most of their POS line-up and Ford's Cmax and Fusion and said "no sir... tell the truth.. IN FACT.. under rate it." They did the same thing I think on ATS-V, CTS-V, Z06, Corvette, and Camaro performance numbers. Notice all of those vehicles are beating their manufacturer claims?
  3. can someone please explain to me how the hell the on the market 6 year Camaro is selling only 1000 less than the brand new Mustang with the Stingray pulling in almost 3000 on the same lot?
  4. First thing U have said in a long time that hasn't made me instantly think I just mistakenly walked into a special ed class with U sitting in the front row. Every Ford/Ram fan was giddy with the idea that the Silverado and Sierra had missed the mark in 2013 when they showed up on dealer lots. Every Ford/Ram fan instantly said that the Colorado and Canyon were gonna do nothing but take sales numbers away from the Silvy/Sierra. They were flat out wrong. I wish I had a $h!pie to rub some faces in.

  6. Next-gen Chevy Camaro ZL1 teases big changes under its camo Autoblog August 3, 2015 With work complete on the lighter, stiffer 2016 Camaro, it's time for Chevrolet's engineers to really start having fun by developing the next, ZL1 version. Here it is for the first time. Unfortunately, the muscle car is still wearing quite a bit of camouflage, but the concealment isn't enough to hide some of the meaner model's more obvious performance tweaks. Starting from the front, this Camaro now wears a much more aggressive front fascia with bigger air inlets. Managing the airflow around the engine bay is clearly a big deal because another photo reveals a fairly large extractor in the hood, as well. Moving down the profile, the lower side sills and orientation of the camo suggest some blistered fenders in the back to cover wider rubber, and at the very rear a much larger wing further suggests the need to keep things planted to the road. Check out the comparison images in the gallery for a better look at the tweaks.
  7. To any idiot out there who believes that what comes out of Germany is superior.. I say.. keep breathing in those fumes.. so U can out and out die and go away.
  8. The carbon spoiler is part of the aero sport package. Otherwise the spoiler is optional. No spoiler for me
  9. Not only that... The Camaro doesn't even need hellcat numbers to beat a hellcat Challenger or Charger. Its lighter by a country mile. Hell the CTSV has 67 Less HP weighs in similar to the Dodge and is now been clocked as beating it in every metric.
  10. And did anyone see the positive feedback on the upgrade CUE in C&D? One less thing for haters to try and detract from this magnificent chariot. Can't wait to drive one.
  11. U might be stupid, but I'll keep it between just the two of us. The Ram may have been a profit center, but the looming financial calamity from its recent recall might just be a negative in terms of profitability overall. I would explain to U just how even a mere buyback of 100K, let alone 200K would result in a huge red mark in cash and profitability from a line that has been at the very least heavily discounted since 2013. The 200 has had a few good months, but bet U a bunch of money that it isn't making PROFITS yet on its own.. and anything coming in from it is because its shared platform with the Cherokee and Giulietta. I won't even include the Dart in that yet. I also kno of FCA's fleet percentage, but must point out to U that their fleet numbers are the most telling tail. Their overall Profit shows what 'm talking about as well. $364 Million for the entire company without any special terms to speak of. I won't even get into the debt that FCA has accumulated. Their rep was fine the issue was like any company selling attitude and in-yo-face opulence and arrogance.. the softies of the country hated on it. Its a no-brainer. That's all I really have to say on trhat
  12. As Willy said.. it was retained. GM did a clever thing with that one too. They retained the name and use it on a cologne currently to prevent a struggle later and a possibility of extended marketing.
  13. He does get excited... but I do kinda get it. Even though he's got some serious warts to his managerial style and is way too fond of black turtlenecks, I gotta go to bat for ol' Sergio because he's Italian/Canadian.Having said that, the buyback thing is a scary precedent. And on a financial news front: the rumoured shotgun wedding with GM would be a disaster for both companies. I never saw him in a black turtle neck.. Personally I think he has a weird fettish with crew-neck sweaters. I mean like Hannibal Lechter "rare meat and potatoes" emphasis on the rare meat fettish. It would be an EPIC disaster.. like the time Noah had to gather two of every animal in take a ride on a boat disaster. The only good thing that would come from a GM merger would be the acquisition of Jeep.. which quite frankly GM really doesn't need because it has GMC and HUMMER name. They could effectively create a Jeep Brand with a name that was synonymous with "off-road" by combing it GMC, a name synonymous with "truck." R
  14. Sad but true, I suspect. To be honest I'm a bit surprised MT is holding so tightly to this rumour. Have you heard anything about a 7.0DI elsewhere? Or even just a freshening? No. If the LS7 or upgraded 7.0L DI comes to play it would a sweet deal. I could see from DI a bump in HP of about 13% or 565HP. It would be done in response to the new Flat Plane Crank coming out in the GT350. It would be a an effective too too because NA is always a wet dream maker for enthusiasts.
  15. Its a popularity contest, much in the same way that Donald Trump was/is leading the GOP polls a few weeks ago. The thing is that FCA cannot, and will not survive on LX and Hellcat orders alone. They wi;; certainly make a buck or two, but with CAFE hitting, is it really a design that FCA should bet the farm on? Sergio is smart to want to revive Alfa. He is looking at it in a "VW reviving Audi" kinda of way. I would say he was emulating VW/Audi/Porsche if he hadn't of just shuttled Ferrari. Alfa could be a profit center if Fiat's usual quality issues don't come in and dilute, then delete any money made with warranty claims daily and people take it seriously from the start and buy This ^^^^ We agree. FCA is right now surviving on Jeep.. the LXs are just a little bit of gravy, and a lot of those sales are coming from discounted fleet deliveries.
  16. Where am I banned from outside of one place? Also.. your Mom is a tool.. the garden variety.
  17. But isn't 40% of 500,000 still a whopping 200,000 X $10K equaling $2 Billion? Good thing Sergio stole that $2 Billion from GM back in 2002. Seriously wish this would put them out of business. Hate Foreign companies. Would love GM being able to pick up Jeep for pennies on the dollar
  18. And you are leaving out an important part of the article...... stating THEY CAN FIX AND RESALE THESE TRUCKS SO THE HIT ISN'T GOING TO BE NEARLY WHAT IT APPEARS! It is. pulling in 500,000 vehicles is a chore for any manufacturer
  19. a HALF A MILLION TRUCKS!!! That almost negates gains in truck market share for 2014 and part of 2013
  20. $55,000, when I can get a more stately looking Lacrosse for less, or actually not mind spending about $10K more and get a BALLZ OUT CTS? What world is Ford living in? And are the fuel economy gains even worth this BS: Zero to 60 mph: 9.4 sec Zero to 100 mph: 25.3 sec and again my Impala interior looks more lively
  21. Supposed to be coming. The "under XT5", possibly XT3 will most likely go on Alpha. I can also see the need for a few others when the new CTS debuts as the CT4 or 5 as it may just move over to Omega.
  22. So can we just close the BS and say that Ecoboost is a one or the other proposition from Ford.. and GM does "Ecoboost" better offering the best of both worlds?
  23. The actual penalty at the moment is $90 Million with an additional $15 Mil if they don't update their ways soon. The thing that everyone missed was That is a real penalty if it comes to fruition. 500,000 at a market value of $10K would be a cool $5 Billion, and another reason why every manufacturer on the planet sees Sergio's number come up on caller ID and hits the "End" button sending that $h! straight to VM
  24. Cadillac is moving ahead with its own engines. That is a necessity in there segment for the artificial facade and image of exclusivity. Personally I think it is silly, but unfortunately the superficial silliness of the domestic car haters will not ever give the Small-Block legitimacy in a luxury car.
