GMC News: GMC Introduces Refreshed 2020 GMC Acadia
Cmicasa the Great replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in GMC Trucks
Figured.. Its actually quite interesting.. and like I said before the Cruze's 1.4L runs fine with 87, but gets better fuel economy and has waaay more pick-up with 93 as we don't have 91 around these parts -
GMC News: GMC Introduces Refreshed 2020 GMC Acadia

What does that mean? The Tahoe is damn near luxury in its own.. The next generation will be even more so. Remember that a Tahoe Premieris priced like a GLS. Great question. It was my understanding that it's about total efficiency. The peak torque for instance... 90% of peak torque is coming in at just 1,600 rpm and lasting all the way thru 5000, about 100rpm sooner than the previous. Meaning throttle response is immediate. BTW I could have swore this engine's HP/torque is rated using 87 where as the old ones were rated using 91-93. Don't quote me on that, but I truly believe that I read that. I can tell U that the the difference in response between using 87 and 93 in the Cruze 1.4 is Real. -
Buick News: Buick to Look to China for more product
Cmicasa the Great replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Buick
I'm not a fan of anything Chinese but I have to say that if Chinese buy Buicks.. to the tune of 1.4 Million last year versus the 206K here.. then GM should care more about that market than here. Simple as that. Buicks don't sell in low numbers here because they are not great cars/cuvs.. they earn top marks all around.. They sell in low numbers because Americans are superficial, and disloyal to their own brands.. then complain when they lose their livelihood because they aren't selling. -

Well we'll see. I'm waiting to trade the V in for the CT6-V and the Yukon for the Slade anyway so I guess its no effect on my either way -

Yes. And from what I was told the XT7(?) is going to be on Omega not C1xx and compliment the CT6 or above vehicle in 2021. -

The XT6 is not the end game for Cadillac CUVs. We know that there is another one coming soon and most likely its RWD based. There are models planned to be over both the CT6 and the XT6, and we could see them in mule form in a few months, if not by Summer of this year. I am convinced that these will be RWD based with the first BEV debuting soon after or simultaneously. -
DRIVEN: 2019 Chevrolet Blazer LT AWD 3.6
Cmicasa the Great replied to regfootball's topic in Reader Reviews
I haven't driven it yet.. and I will.. as U should as well. Thing is that I've driven the Acadia Denali, the Enclave, and the XT5.. I had no issues with the way they drove and that's after, in one case getting out of the V and into the XT5. I'm not in any way saying that those two drove similar.. but for a CUV, just in Sport Mode.. it drove pretty damn nice and aggressive. But then again.. I have challenged Mustangs and Camaros in cornering fast in my slightly lowered 5500 lb Yukon.. So I may be a bad person to comment. Because I DRIVE!!! Everything like I'm driving my Vette? -

Love this refresh. My only issue with GM and its CUVs as a whole is that they can not seem to ween themselves off this mindset that 310HP is enough. This, the Enclave, Traverse, XT5, XT6, Blazer.. all deserve to have a TTV6 option available even it they tune it for marketing needs per division with Cadillac getting the highest output. Heck they can even do what they used to do with the Camaro/Firebird vs Vette.. where they put the Vette's HP higher on paper, but every dyno I remember said they were all kicking out the same power at the fly Anyway.. Nice changes. Much tougher looking too. Looks better than the JGC now -
DRIVEN: 2019 Chevrolet Blazer LT AWD 3.6

Problem with my thoughts is that most believe that I can't find faults with GM vehicles as a whole because I am a serious GM fan. The thing is that I view GM vehicles for what they offer versus their actual competition. Apples to Apples. Come the fukk on.. someone here actually compared an Explorer to the Blazer. WTF? Why not compare a 370Z to a Grand Sport? Anyway.. very often, if unavailable, I ask for more to triumph over all competitors. For example.. we want to say that the Edge ST will trounce all over the Blazer RS, but looking at the actual numbers a great deal says that they are almost identical in performance. Another example is the BITCHING about the pricing of the Blazer.. when we all know.. as does the public, that by the time these vehicles go on sale there is almost always a SALE and the price is not even remotely what the MSRP says. Old school marketing and it works in making the consumer think that they are getting a better deal than they were.. even with the Internet avail. Its tiring and annoying at best hearing supposed informed enthusiasts bitch about constantly. Look here.. (Below) Its what GM does. It just is. -

I'm gonna have to go drive one today.. cause your review is a complete contrast to almost everyone I've read or watched. Sales wise we'll have to see.. versus the Edge.. U people have way more faith in that ugly thing than I do. Engine-wise, I see not one issue with its specs versus the Edge ST, and I'm betting that performance comparisons will say pretty much the same. NOW! Do I think that there should be an optional, more powerful engine? Abssf@#kINlutely! But that stands on every GM CUV available. But I've said this to the point of making myself sick saying it again -
Buick News: Buick Cascada Dead After 2019

ATP of the Escalade early last year was $87K. CTS was almost $59K. ATS was at $41K. LAst year Cadillac sold about 376K vehicles in US, China, Can, Korea, and Russia -

Agreed. This is a remnant of JDN trying to rationalize the naming scheme. His intentions were just.. but I think the reason why the CTS is becoming the CT5 is because the "5" looks a lot like the "S" as crazy as that sounds. To be honest the Cadillac naming scheme has been weird for a while. It is further marred by the fact that the Escalade is a named vehicle. If they announced that they were going back to names I wouldn't have an big issue, but would be still confused as to why. The CT is to stand for "Cadillac TOURING". Originally the names were set as: CTS= Catera Touring Sedan STS= Seville Touring Sedan DTS= Deville Touring Sedan XLR= eXtreme Luxury Roadster SRX= (I believe ) Seville Crossover Escalade It would have made sense too had they not come out with the CTS Coupe in Gen 2 and called it CTS Coupe instead of the obvious "CTC." When the replacement for the DTS and supposed flagship for the brand was announced it was to be called XLS then DT7, which is where I bet JDN pulled the numbers game from. Anyway.. it could work.. if the just fukking stick to it. They don't even have to use even or odd numbers anymore to denote sedan or coupe. Hell Audi now has a A5 (Sportback) sedan. BMW has a 6Series (Grand Touring) Sedan. Its gotten confusing as hell LOL

Skyhigh gas prices? Naaaah. The people who actually bought Hummers cared very little about gas prices I promise U. By the way the same gas argument that one could make about the H2 one could have made to a degree about the Suburban, or at the time the FJ Cruiser in relation to the H3. No Hummer was killed as an appeasement to the superficial Greenies of the world who loved to paint the domestics as gas guzzlers yet who gave a pass to Toyota and Nissan.. just because of the Prius. If one looked at the numbers back then.. GM and Ford were no less fuel efficient than the Japanese brands overall. Hummer was the symbol tho.. but GM could have simple put diesels in (they had a 2.8L V6 Diesel and a 4.5L Diesel that would have done nicely) and been exempt from EPA testing, or dropped the H2 only for a generation, skipping GMT900, as the H2 was on the GMT800 platform, even tho the GMT900s had been out for 3 years for before Hummer died, and brought it back with K2xx (current). Hell they could have even given it the two mode hybrid tranny they spent billions on and now sits on a shelf collecting dust. Then lived on under GMC as a trim utilizing the H3, H3T, and Hx Concept completely trouncing Jeep.. Because if U remember the H3, in terms of off-road prowess put the Wrangler and LR Discovery on the truck and sent them home in almost every comparison I ever saw. Even that bitch ass Jeremy Clarkson had to admit it was the winner. Here's one example http://www.trucktrend.com/truck-reviews/163-0810-off-road-suv-comparison/ Love this damn truck..

I agree. The CTS and the CTS-V are simply put... magnificent examples of automobile. Everything about this car is fantastic. The looks, the interior, the handling, the engine, the reactions. I hope it translates over to the CT5 word for word and then a few more. The CT6 and CT6-V seem to actually take it further. When I had one recently, I won't lie and say I didn't miss my Horsies, but the rest of the car almost made me settle. Keep in mind I was down almost 300 ponies. If the Blackwing quells my need for the LT4, then I will say that Cadillac is going to have an absolute, back to back, GRAND SLAM on their hands.

Hell is going on.. Pontiac needed to go. he only brand that GM killed that made sense to keep was Hummer and Saab.. and even that could have simply been a trim level of GMC like Denali or AT4 and a European arm to take over where Opel would eventually leave off. Pontiac was redundant. It had been since the 80s. Saturn was as well, It was for all intents Olds reincarnated. Hence the reason why GM's market share wasn't seriously eroded after their demise

The BK messed up a great deal of the plan. GM is being too cautious right now IMO. In 2005 there was the Escalade, CTS, STS, SRX, XLR, and DTS. We were waiting for the BTS(there was a BLS in Europe based off Saab 9-3), BRX, XLS/DT7 and Ultra V8 to replace Northstar. There was also talk of an "XLR-Mini" based on the Kappas (Sky and Solstice)
