  1. Absolutely. But the Cadillac brand really should have nothing over at Lincoln that beats it at anything other than price. and here's the thing.. CADILLAC HAS TOOLS IN THE BIN THAT COULD ABSOLUTELY KICKS ITS ASS. Seriously.. there is zero reason I can think of that Cadillac doesn't have an XT5-Vsport at least.. XT5 should be 2.0L Turbo Base 272/295lb 3.0L Turbo 360HP VSport and yup... 3.6L Turbo 450HP+VSeries Hell it should pretty much mimic the ATS
  2. I have to agree with him sadly.. Cadillac not having an CUV that beats the MKX is silly. In fact Chevy should have one that beats the Edge.
  3. Its their (BMW/BENZ) formula and for all the hate we put on them they still sell decently for those companies. I personally don't want to see anything from Cadillac but VSeries and Platinums, but I kno that it is unrealistic if I want the brand to survive.. especially in this "cut if not profitable mode." $54K-55K ATPs are only obtainable if customers come on the lot.. so they can be up-sold into something better than the BS price that was advertised. Bottom line is that it is simply good business for GM to look at Cadillac and the rest the same way that Alfred Sloan did.. as autonomous businesses that are un-linked in survival even if under the skin they are.. of course back then even that last part didn't apply.. as a Cadillac didn't share even an engine with a Buick which didn't share one with a Chevy.. or it a Pontiac.. or an Olds. And they ruled automodom. I say this to people who say Cadillac doesn't need "this.. or that.. because they have Buick.. or Chevy.." I say eff that. Cadillac needs to be a full line division even if they charge $20K more than the same SIZED Chevy. Let me be clear.. I do not want to see a Cadillac SPARK.. or a Cadillac TRAX. Hell I didn't even want to see a Cadillac Volt.. but that happened. What I do want to see is: The ATS(CT3) in its current configs, but also fleshed out to have a wagon, a coupe, Vert, a hybrid.. and yes.. a tall wagon. Yup.. a RWD/AWD ATS that sits an extra 2 inches off the ground. Call it CTx3. The CTS(CT5) in its current configs, but also fleshed out to have a wagon, a coupe, Vert, a hybrid.. no need for a tall wagon. Because we already have the XT5 The CT6 in its current configs, but also fleshed out to have a wagon, a coupe, Vert, a hybrid (check).. and yes.. a tall wagon. Yup.. a RWD/AWD CT6 that sits an extra 2 inches off the ground. Call it XT6. OK OK.. the names and marketing need some work.. but U get the point. I don't give a EFF...what some think on this. I'm talking about survival... and upward mobility in vehicles that people want and are clamoring for. All this and the Cadillac brand still wouldn't have anything under $33K. Nothing... Nada. U see U get those 5K ATS sales by offering more than just a damn sedan and a coupe that U haven't given a commercial spot since 2013. U get those 5K CTS sales that U used to get.. with an extra $10K tacked on by not having a similar priced, but larger, thus THOUGHT TO BE more upscale, XTS sitting right next to it.. cheaper in fact... AND offering a car that USED to offer in a coupe and a wagon.. and enjoyed very nice sales.. in a GOD DAMNED Coupe and a Wagon.
  4. Cool with me.. 390HP is fine.. and would appease any dude who actually would get one... cause let's face it.. the XT5 is a kinda a chic car. The XT7, IMO should be the performance CUV.. based off the Omega platform. In that I'd run the gambit and go from 3.0L Turbo @ 390HP all the way up to the LT4 While I agree. .. they do sell with both Benzes pulling in almost 7K last month
  5. Let me be the first to tell U how stupid what he always goes to sounds.. 640HP in the XT5 would absolutely overkill.. unnecessary for any real person sides the idiots of the world. Considering its size and weight.. the XT5 shouldn't have go past 550HP... and even that is overkill. I would settle in between the Macan and Cayenne HP .. say 470-500 and be done. Ironically the heaviest XT5 is still lighter than the smaller Macan. Technically the XT5 is in between those two in size.. so why not. If they go RWD in the XT7.. then and only then would I say go LT4
  6. In his eyes.. different rulz. He just won't admit.. despite the obvious knowledge that Mercedes is only really a Luxo maker in the U.S. It also shows how unworldly most Americans are in believing that Benz is really special all over the world. Mercedes Benz competes with Chevy, Toyota, Hyundai, Ford, Nissan, Kia, etc in a majority of its markets. I would love to see in fact... what Benzo's sales were JUST in the actually luxio market.. without the mainstream versions. BMW is no better. So yeah.. Caddy should not chase mass volume but should settle in around 500K. They could do this.. based on what I see from last year hitting 309K Global. Again.. that's with essentially ONE effin CUV in a market that had they had as many CUVs as Benz has in the U.S. alone.. (7) I think they could already be at that mark.. Hell.. They could've pulled in an extra 50K+ with just variants of the cars they have.
  7. Gotta be honest... I think that while Cadillac does not have to pursue every segment.. they do have to offer something within the realm of each segment as an alternative. The CT6 strategy , for instance is perfect.. if they implement within that, and all future derivatives, variation. They simply have to use their collective imagination.. or better yet simply yank from their own past.. seeing past trends by creating their own. The death of the CTS wagon, for instance.. and coupe.. was short-sighted and has been, IMO, the direct reason why the CTS continues to suffer in sales.. that and the XTS. Its absolutely basic. The E-Class 3340 units last month while the CTS and XTS pulled in 2258. Even adding in the CT6 U still only sold 3060. Size isn't even a factor... These three cars literally overlap in price like a mofo.. The E-Class garnered sales from the simple fact that it comes in every variant under the damn sun. Sedan, Coupe, Wagon. Cadillac could instantly bring the CTS within striking distance if it offered the same. So while I think that the XT4, XT5, and XT7, along with the Escalades are fine.. I do think it needs to flesh out its car portfolio to include at minimum 2 wagons and 3 coupes. Business case against cars be damned.. because if it were ONLY about sales in the highest market.. then an XT1, XT3, XT6, and XT8 should be added to that portfolio pronto... and kill all the cars. I won't even mention that building these cars (variants) would be way more cost effective and at the same time pull Cadillac in sales from niche.. which add up quick. Just had to add these pics as I love this car so
  8. None at all.. except for some reason I think that the Avalanche had a HUMMER-ISH perception about it. Makes no sense I kno.. but some people saw it and instantly thought DINOSAUR and not in terms of age.. but heft. Ironically it is no smaller than the Suburban it was built off. Sales, along with the EXT were phenomenal in fact.. as was Hummer overall. GM could have spent less simply marketing them as efficient as the competition or even its own platform mates, but it chopped them instead. AGAIN.. who couldn't see a positive reception for a H3 and H3T with a Diesel in it getting 28MPG? How about a Duramax powered Avy or EXT?
  9. Because in the end scenario the XTS's sales could be sent over to the CT6. People aren't buying the XTS over the CT6 because its a better car.. nor is it really a "softer" cushier ride. Anyone who has been in a CT6 will attest to it being the right up there with any other as far as ride.. with handling to boot
  10. Hold up.. U are saying U thing either the CTS or CT6 is dead NG??? Doubt it seriously. The CTS certainly is in for a name change but Cadillavc knows that a 5series competitor is a necessity... The CT8 will remain while I could see the XTS dying. The Impala.. I'm not sure, but optimistic that GM doesn't pull a 1996 all over again.. because whether they are efficient as or not, CUVs are not perceived as such, thus GM would be foolish to put all those eggs in a brittle basket. Its literally the reason why we have the Avalon today.. an answer to the question that GM thought it had answered when it killed the Fleetwood, Roadmaster, Impala/Caprice, and Olds Cruiser
  11. I just don't see the Impala going away again.. It would be foolish to concede the large car crown to Taurus or Avalon. Especially when it is just so damn great of a car. Again.. I see platform sharing with the CT6 or CTS being the absolute best way to further economies of scale within the company. Frankly I would have already had the rumors swirling about a RWD Impala as the SS was being killed. It really makes no financial sense to have one vehicle sitting on a doable platform like Omega. U already have under utilization of one platform over at team Corvette. The Omega based Impala with a 2.0L, 3.6L and TT 3.6L (420HP) or LT1 SS and.. an LT4 650HP SSR would be the stuff of dreams. It would effectively wear a Hellcat's ass out.
  12. Thanks for pretty much repeating my every word/
  13. Low ass margin on India. Seriously. Their population is less than China's but their condensing of the population requires mostly small cars.. and it isn't exactly the luxury car capitol either.. S.America political BS is hurting its economy. Its hard to speculate on this. GM does not want to get caught in the legendary 1996 debacle where they cut all their full-size cars and moved to SUVs.. of course back then no one had really heard of a car based SUV called CUV. Not to mention at this point CUVs are getting similar fuel economy as their counterparts in cars. I could see the Impala being merged into a niche RWD vehicle.. (Chevy Impala merges with Chevy SS anyone?) The Lacrosse and Regal become one.. with the Regal being the loser since the PSA deal.. but then again they have gone on record as saying that this next gen Regal/Commodore would not be affected. The Sonic/Spark thing I saw coming. Seriously.. why buy the tweener Sonic when U could buy the actual smaller and cheaper Spark or the Sonic's taller self Trax? I called this hard.. and said it on GMI and MTForum that it made no sense from a marketing point of view to not simply call the TRAX the SONIC TRX (trim) and reap the reward of sales being a marketer. The Sonic is a cool as lil whip.. but I'm sure GM is making more off the Spark (and Trax) because it is being built by non-UAW labor while the Sonic is being built here. Buick.. I could see after the NG Regal (if it still comes) runs its course, the Buick line-up being one LaX, a global Hatchback, and at least two more CUVs to go along with the Encore, Envision, and Enclave. Why??? Chevy.. The nixing of the Impala or merging it into a RWD based Omega (or AlphaL [current CTS]), death of Sonic or merging of it with Spark... I kinda see these two like I saw the insanity back in the day of having the Beretta and Corsica in the same line-up. I can see a fleshing out of the EV Bolt and PHEV Volt into another sized variant. Expect to see one more CUV or SUV coming in between the Nox and Traverse. Cadillac is , ironically, safe in GROWING its line-up.. the necessity of it in GM's portfolio is pure profit and legitimacy. Expect ATS to become CT3, CTS to become CT5, CT6 to get even more plush, CT8 to arrive, and possibly still a CT7.. all by 2020. CUVs? XT4 is already running around, XT5 doing great.. XT7 is supposed to be coming, and of course I can't see them touching the Escalade formula GMC. I could see a rethink on the BIG Acadia.. maybe a new name or Acadia XL.. I can still envision a revisit to the H3.
  14. Wait and see? Dude that was like QUICK FAST AND IN A HURRY.. as this quote was taken from a review last year. This one too: To the ATS. The ATS quality issue has been most limited to issues with CUE. Every person I have met or kno that has had an ATS has had zero issues with them outside of a slight learning curve in CUE. Once they drove the car, read the manual, and fiddled with it for a few weeks.. their complaints died out. Yes.. getting acclimated to a new UI is not as easy and can be more frustrating than just hopping in and pushing buttons and turning knobs as had been done for the past 100 years. Go figure. ATS sales. The car is a first.. introduced in a down market for CARS, and with only two variants where as the mainstay has like a billion. No marketing except in year one.. and a black eye because it has the backseat of a small compact luxury car while being.. a small compact luxury car. I like how people try and act as tho the ATS some how is a bad car when technically a similar launched vehicle (SRX-XT5) was put out with less buzz and still did better in sales simply because it was a part of the fastest growing segment.. CUVs. BTW. ATS does better in the Global numbers than it doe sin the US. Why?? Because everywhere else isn't obsessed with CUV/SUVs
  15. Quick point of fact.. The CTS-V and ATSV both have manual operation of exhaust note thru Modes. SPORT and TRACK are way more aggressive than touring and the rest. Blip of a button easy Quick point of fact.. The CTS-V and ATSV both have manual operation of exhaust note thru Modes. SPORT and TRACK are way more aggressive than touring and the rest. 16. Shoot. After sittin in a CT6.. both driving and passenger in rear.. if the CT8 is 6 inches larger.. a person will be able to full on cage match in there
  17. He won't.. he will simply continue to tell us how great it is.. how great a fuckin 500 is.. .. and never ever go out and take the RISK.. cause its a big RISK.. himself. Stewy my boy.. after 12 years of owning Cadillacs and 8 of those years with VSeries... all Hi-Po.. all abused by luxury car standards by Moi.. all gorgeous, all reliable.. if my only complaint was the freaking Head unit then I think I'd be quite alright. As it stands my biggest complaint about all my Caddys is that eventually.. they get dirty.. and I hate dust on my freakin sexy babes Oh. and Typically... no MOSTLY means:
  18. The GC was a V6... the 500s I don't.. Don't care. They are bitch cars. The Maseratis were GrandT with a 4.7L and Quatroporte Twin Turbo 6. What's your point. My Impala interior is quite consistent.. so is my V, Vette, and Yukon.. admittedly.. I wouldn't buy a base car of any make so what the fuck do I care
  19. This is the same in every damn car make on the planet... There is a reason why the S-Class starts at $90 and goes up to $170.. and it ain't just because of the AMG designation
  20. CUE??? I kno people with Maseratis.. 500s.. hell even Grand Cherokees that have had their damn engines replaced.. RECENTLY. And DAMN IT!!! DAMN U!!! For making me do this There is a GOD DAMN FCA at the bottom for the last 3 years... and all usually rank under the industry. Cadillac??? Cadillac's dependability issues mostly come from a lack of understanding of a damn UI.
  21. Nope. Simply stating facts. And MCE is not a makeover or new model. The Alfa is brand new...and if it didn't out do the ATS or 3 Series then I would say FCA needs to get out of the car business today.. right now. The problem with all is that the ATS, despite its age still is a better handler and all around sports lux than almost all. Its biggest demerit continues to be.. the fuckin backseat. As to reliability.. pleeeeeeeease. Its a Fiat.Nuff said
  22. Why is it so hard to believe when its pretty much already done with the ATS-L and CTS interiors? 2018-19 is gonna put U in your place again. OH.. and FUCK Benz.. and anyone who likes them FIX IT AGAIN TONY
  23. never doubted this. Holden to me should have always been an extension of CHEVY.
  24. Plenty of Hummers here.. hell everywhere. The Hummer had a bad rep because of just what U said... ironically the were no worse in FE than almost any of the sports cars, coupes of their time.. or even now. I won't even mention that with today's GM powertrains.. diesels included.. Hummer could make a helluva comeback. Hell.. isn't Lutz involved with a company that pretty much is selling Hummer looking trucks with EV powertrains?
  25. ATS has been out since 2012. The update will be a game changer and its literally just around the corner. Plus.. I call it today.. Mags will be in love with the Alfa JULIETTE.. bitch ass car.. til the lil muthafucker breaks them down in the middle of nowhere
