  1. Exactly. And from a business point of view I am disgusted while at the same time considering despite my income and such.. going on Gov't Assistance for no other disability than I can't stop cursing every time I look up towards the front of a massive traffic jam.. and see a Corolla or Prius up there holding everyone else up by driving like bitches. Tesla is receiving Gov't assistance to survive daily for the past 10 years. Furthermore it sold 76K units in 2016 and is valued more or around the same as Ford and GM who sold between 7 and 10 million last year Whooah Whoooah Whooah. I don't hate Tesla. I don't like their styling and think that their interior are on par with my Impala's at best (even at $40K more) but I don't hate them one bit. I applaud the idea.. but just think that the idea is easily emulated by one or all of the major automakers on the planet. Again.. the Bolt is a better Tesla just not marketed the same. Seriously. If the ELR had of used the BOLT way instead of the Volt one.. and been larger sized that Cadillac would have probably outsold the Model S
  2. LOL.. .The United States middle class.. hell military-technology exists today solely because of massive funding and GM (along with Ford) input... Get a grip. GM was given LOANS because the U.S. Gov knu what was good for the U.S. Gov
  3. Nice way of looking at it.. Because they were the same with exception to SUBJECTIVE styling. Even I never tried to dog out the Matrix without dogging out the Vibe.. from a Toyota hating point of view. And I hate Toyota with a passion. My biggest quip with the Vibe always remained the fact that GM just didn't use Delta to make it or import the Astra at the time for Pontiac as it would do later for Saturn... another pointless, money costing venture that should have never been. Seriously.. Saturn was an expensive experiment that should have just been a renaming of Oldsmobile, but called Aurora.. which Olds was gonna be called eventually anyway. And hell if U look at the Saturns pre-names (when they were called SL etc) U see the face of what Olds would become in the Intrigue, Alero, and Aurora. Olds, historically was GM's test-bed for tech. Olds would get tech before Cadillac in many cases.. In other words the Alero could have shown up with plastic doors.. LOL.. now I'm just ranting
  4. Ironically I think that is an issue for Cadillac. Consumers actually want them to rape the consumers in order to be viewed on the same level as the Sclass. It will be most interesting if this type of thing continues with the CT6 when the CT7 or 8 arrives. Effectively you will have a CT6 Platinum that is the competitor of the Sclass for less while the base CT7 or 8 goes even further than it while starting off exactly the same in regards to pricing
  5. Tesla is a conundrum.. no a quagmire.. Definition: noun a soft boggy area of land that gives way underfoot. an awkward, complex, or hazardous situation. Its very existence depends on liberal aid. The Gov't subsidizes is lights being on.. Musk is brilliant in utilizing these loopholes. And hold the fuck up... Tesla lost $700 Million last year.. while GM made $9.4 Billion.. and somehow Tesla was the more valuable company? Anyone else see a flim-flam of massive proportions? Its valuation comes from two things.. desire for growth and everyone rooting for the under-dog. GM on the other hand is a 100+ year old company that really only can get larger by merging with other companies. But wait.. no one calculates that GM.. the maker of the Volt, Bolt, CT6 Hybrid.. could even just completely copy Tesla's model and put it out of business by re-launching Saturn. Yes Saturn.. which was originally going to go the way of Tesla before 2009 using alternative drive-trains as its mantra I'll quote Bob Lutz recently "Somehow it's levitating. Elon Musk is the greatest salesman in the world. He paints this vision of an unlimited future, aided and abetted by some analysts," Lutz said. "It's like Elon Musk has been beamed down from another planet to show us mortals how to run a company."
  6. Oh.. U don't have to tell me. When I was a "star" over at Motor Trend Forum I dealt with Angus McKenzie over a idiotic high rating he gave the Toyota Matrix.. while at the same time dogging the Pontiac Vibe. He tried to chalk it up to a Typo.. yes.. a typo.. during the darkest days of the Domestics past.. having issues with perception.. he used that excuse in a nationally published consumer read magazine
  7. I'm thinking that GM has finally given the green-light.. to not only the mid-engine, but also a CUV. I wouldn't be surprised if the Corvette is about to become its own brand.. and the Mid-Engine, Front engine, and CUV are the forerunners
  8. But he's no different than every other car reviewer at Motor Trend... and C&D when it comes to an American vehicle. The first thing mentioned in any of their articles is "whether Cadillac is up to snuff with the Germans..." The CT6 when viewed objectively.. is a better, more luxo car than the S550. It looks, and feels the part inside and out. The Continental looks and feels luxo inside.. but the outside screams "everyday car" to me. I would say the LaX is more elegant.. and even the ES350. There.. its been said.
  9. Yeah I see zero reason for GMC not getting a Trax variant.. perhaps a lil more emphasis on the off road capabilities like the Trax Activ concept
  10. Yeah.. But the truth of the matter is that most who buy this type of vehicle are not looking to carry around tree stumps and what not. The most they will pack in these or any in their class are gonna be bags of groceries. These.. THESE.. more than even the Yukons and Acadia sizes.. are the station wagons of our day. Oh.. Speaking of the Yukon and Acadia and Acadia+.. GMC has other options they can present to any custom looks for more room. More options in fact.. than any Honda dealership
  11. I continue to try and find something wrong with this vehicle and can't. If this is 450lbs lighter than my daughter's 'Nox.. the difference in HP from the V6 to this one's 2.0L will be null.. and based on my experience with the 2.0L in other vehicles.. probably make it more spry. Good looking exterior.. and that interior is a hit. It actually looks luxury, IMO, even in base form
  12. The 5 Series comes in more variants than the CTS and I'd hardly call a starting price $51K for the BMW vs the $46K for the Caddy an $8k price advantage. MATH.. and I mean elementary school variety tells me that its more like $5K. Also.. the XT5 outsold that ORB of an Audi by about 500 units last month. Fuck the Germans.. and anyone who tries to play down Cadillac in order to build Kraut up
  13. Granted. This.. during some of the darkest days at GM financially. OK.. "lesson learned, let's move on." And move they have been in the RIGHT DIRECTION. Seriously.. no one I can think of can get into a CTS, CT6, XT5, Escalade, or even XTS and come out saying those cars were behind the Germs in fit and finish, nor driving dynamics vs a similar model. Yes.. the ATS is the exception, but my excuse for that remains that it was designed almost 10 years ago and put on to the market in 2012... with the 2017 model year (for all cars) almost DONE
  14. Despite your constant ignoring of the facts.. the Germans outsold the hell out of Cadillac in areas where they simply don't compete or won't compete. For example, comparing a CTS to 5 Series sales is ridiculous when U don't kno the product mix that BMW had vs the singular iteration of the CTS. Interesting that the singular XT5, their newest product, sold within striking distance of the X3, X4, and X5 combined, with one damn engine choice..
  15. See.. I take issue with this. 30-40 years ago was 1986 and 1976. Cadillac vehicles were quite nice back then with a few hiccups. The Germans were not seen as above them or superior in any way except driving dynamics. 20 years ago? Maybe. That's 1996-7. But that really only lasted for 10-12 years max.. or two generation. Cadillac is been building exemplary vehicles since 2007.. I'd even say 2005. But since then Cadillacs have been dynamically and luxuriously on par with the Germans in every category they competed directly within.
  16. i've been saying this for years. Only getting better now. CT7+ and XT4, XT6, 7 and 8 better be coming correct
  17. Over at Cadillac the XT5, alone almost beat the MKC, MKX, MKT, and Navigator alll by itself. The CT6 lost to the Continental, despite the much cheaper price of teh Lincoln, by 25 units.. and the combined XTS and CT6 vs MKS and Continental, the Cadillacs clobbered them And WTF?? Camaro beat Mustang. Cruze beat Focus. Malibu beat Fusion. Impala beat Taurus
  18. Well.. maybe I just drive too damn AGGRESSIVE.. all the time.. in all the cars I drive, which these days.. thankfully are all GM
  19. I have to call BS.. at least the outright performance iterations I've experienced. GM Built or Aisin.. the programming was on point.. and any changes were possible on the versions I spent at least a week with. CTS-V ATS-V Z06 GS Stingray CTS-Vsport Camaro SS CT6 "Vsport" (3.0L TT) an example ??? "The eight-speed automatic is a pretty spectacular piece of work, and that’s coming from the Save the Manuals people. It even responds quickly to paddle-activated manual shifts" C&D
  20. It, as per my experience, depends on how one drives these vehicles from the git. I bet good money that U can take my Aline "14 Impala" and drive her after U've just driven another '14 with similar miles on the ODO and believe that U are shifting two totally different cars. That GM transmissions LEARN your driving style is not a myth in my opinion. There is no way a driver in one of them for an hour or a day can claim that the tranny is one way or another over the long run. The only real tune(out) needed in some GM trannies is the 1-4 (CAGS) program in manuals for enthusiastic driving.
  21. I love how your instant response ALWAYS.. and I mean ALWAYS goes back to 0-60 times... even unsaid. Having a manual is not necessarily about performance.. but allowing the enthusiast to control, in every way, the driving characteristics of the drive. Of course U don't really strike me as a REAL enthusiast. Nonetheless.. there are maneuvers that one can do in a manual that would always result in a "shift denied" situation in a modern Manu-Matic. As to the sales aspect.. I actually can see this point of view. With more and more of the population condensing itself into urban areas.. traffic congestion.. and such.. manuals are a real pain in the ass. I love my 7Speed in Sasha (Z) and now.. even my 4speed in Thelma (SS).. but only on backroads and open highway. The 8Speed in Rose (V) is sublime.. but despite that.. I love my 7speed all the same when traffic is no issue
  22. I would say the NPP adds about 5-7HP. As to changing it.. COOL.. I love it on both the V and Vette. $1400 stays in your pocket with no risk of that disgusting DRONE that sometimes accompanies Borla, Corsa, and such..
  23. Sounds good.. and lets be honest... at : 2015 Chevrolet SS Manual (C&D) Zero to 60 mph: 4.6 sec Zero to 100 mph: 10.7 sec Zero to 130 mph: 18.3 sec Zero to 150 mph: 31.1 sec Rolling start, 5-60 mph: 5.3 sec Top gear, 30-50 mph: 9.5 sec Top gear, 50-70 mph: 9.6 sec Standing ¼-mile: 13.0 sec @ 111 mph Top speed (governor limited, C/D est): 160 mph Braking, 70-0 mph: 159 ft Roadholding, 300-ft-dia skidpad: 0.97 g Curb weight: 3970 lb C/D observed fuel economy: 15 mpg I think that compared to most DD.. U are miles ahead. What will give U serious chubs is that with a CAI and an exhaust swap.. U are most likely gonna add a min of 35HP bringing that 415 to 450. Do a $400 tune.. and grab another 25 I won't rag on U for your novice Manual skills.. but I will find U and kick that ass if U eff up that sweet shifting clutch
  24. Yo.. Congrads on a magnificent automobile... I will say to U.. a person who loves modding.. now.. U can seriously MOD away.
  25. Who cares??? Until GM gets off its hands and lets the 3.0L TT be an actual replacement to the 3.6L I will no longer get excited. Seriously.. 335HP-340HP from the 3.6L is pointless when U can detune the 3.0L TT and have 350-400 NOW. No one cares if an engine is exclusive to Cadillac.. what they care about is if their stock engine is more powerful than the under-brands.
