  1. Probably.. and I'm gonna go out on a limb on this.. because some people.. Vegas odds.. don't want a larger car and would rather have a smaller one with an alternative drivetrain. Some vehicles are literally being produced these days STILL.. because of consumer preference.. even in small bits. Go figure.. GM of all companies building cars that people want Personally.. I see zero reason for an EV infrastructure to not be put into place and EVs take over the entire realm of automotive in the next 20 years.. OH WAIT!!!
  2. U truly are a German loving Ho-Type. Seriously.. I scratch myself hard every time I think about the fact that I served this country so that POS twats like U could talk shit about it. My exact quote is easily found.. but I'll help your sorry ass: Now.. let me ask U this.. where the FUCK did I say that a Yukon could BEAT a 335i? I said hold its own.. as in around the CURVES.. or the real world and not a road course all the way over in your beloved Germany. TWISTIES.. I have.. on many occasion gone up against plenty of 3series, A4s and such.. and HELD my own in hard curves. How the hell this became an all out obsession with U talking about a FULL-SIZE TRUCK based SUV running on the NurRing is beyond me. My only explanation is that U are some sort of daft Rain Man. The point of my statement was that the engineering of the Corvette is a trickle occurrence that lends itself to almost all vehicles in the GM line-up, including the truck/suvs.
  3. First of all I said it could handle its own.. obviously the center of gravity for a vehicle that is 74.4 inches vs one that is 56.3.. almost 2 ft higher in the front alone.. would hinder the vehicle somewhat.. and U are an IDIOT for bringing up the RING in this conversation.. GOD DAMN IDIOT... BTW.. 27.4 sec @ 0.68 g (avg) Denali/Escalade as per MT vs 26.7 sec @ 0.65 g (avg) for comparable 328d XDrive. Looks pretty close to me..
  4. Another thing is that with both Cadillac and Vette rolling hard.. and winning at Lemans and Sebring.. I see zero reason why this car would not be a harbinger of that collaboration The current Corvette.. and several generations before have been the test bed for almost every performance vehicle GM has put out. The Camaro didn't suddenly become a handling genius out of no where.. nor did the CTS, ATS, and even Regal and Tahoe.. the engineering was started by team Vette.. and trickled into what is now the absolute best handling line-up (every GM) on the market overall. I can tell U that it wouldn't be far fetched to take a GMC Yukon and put it up against a 335i and that Yukon, all 2.5 tons would hold its own on the twisties.. So the invest is not for nothin.. Thanks Corvette
  5. Exactly. I still hope that it is a shared thing between Cadillac and Chevy. To me.. it is absolutely ridiculous to make a one-off vehicle when GM's luxury brand clearly needs a halo car to compare to that from Benz, BMW, Audi , and even Lexus. Even better would be the opportunity this presents for Corvette to throw its hands into the realm of a separate premium division the like of Porsche.. CUVs included.
  6. Well please inform. Speculation is all we have if we are not an insider. The predictions are that this is a super-car for Chevy to be sold along with the current C7 configuration
  7. I don't think a V6 is needed at all considering the LT1 or LT2 will still be in the 500HP realm.. a V6 Turbo in fact shouldn't even be the only engine in the ATS-V.. it should be a base with the LT1 as an optional upgrade.
  8. Personally I believe that Cadillac should be the receiver of this vehicle first and foremost.. I think that all Corvette costs should be shared with Cadillac. I see the Corvette as more Cadillac than I see it as a Chevy. As that... I could see a nice 2000 a year between the two.. similar to the relationship and sales of the R8 and the Gallardo. Truth is that for once we agree .. Volume is needed within certain set parameters simply so the car might survive... GM is not just allow a vehicle to live without it being cost effective.. and I doubt seriously that the C8 or Mid-engine Vette is a one-off platform that is not going be utilized by the Corvette brand as a whole. In fact.. I am betting good money that its platform will be essentially a highly modular and modified version of what is already in existence.
  9. Lotta extra hardware in going S/C, plus DOD and Direct Injection.. not to mention a certain level of luxury appointments in the C7 that are absolutely absent from the C5 and C6. Sorry.. the Corvette guys made the C7 a better car than either.. Z06 or otherwise. As an ex owner of both.. and 2 gens before.. I can attest that they made right decisions with exception to the small inter-cooler this time around and not giving the car a more up to the task cooling system considering the additional heat. Either way.. those negatives are fixed as far as I kno.. and again.. a better car. To me.. in a world of EVs getting press by not gear heads for simply being able to have instant torque and this faster 0-60 times.. I say a Z06, Z51, GS are absolute genius car making in the flesh. Perhaps the C8, utilizing some of the CT6's Omega engineering may be lighter.. but I still miss the issue of its additional 250lbs actually hindering any of the model's performance. A C7 will beat a C6 in any form, including the ZR1 C6.
  10. ^^^Cool.. we can go back to disagreeing. The Z06 is a beast.. even more so over my Z51 or a Grand Sport. Its just better. An upgrade on the Z06 as the ZR1.. for around $100K+ will be the ultimate slap in the face of anyone owing a so called exotic. Most likely it will be in the 700HP range and fuck up anything moving. Z06 is already a car pulling in high 10s stock.. and ZR1 will be in the 9s. U can't more special than that without spending $1Mil. I'll hold off and simply buy the Mid-Engine in its second year I think tho.. unless they say its on sale date isn't til 2020.. and then I might have to upgrade in 2018-2019 to a Z06 or ZR1
  11. Maybe U will have to go out.. and just have another son...
  12. And here's the scary part.. we SAW THIS back in 1995.. and GM fucked up and decided to cancel several sweet full sizers to accommodate that change. My hope is that they don't do it again. The CT6, CTS and ATS are still on.. the XTS is being merged with the CTS... which I continue to say is a great reason why the same priced CTS sales are down.. The killing of the Impala is foolish and I hope that it is not only a rumor but GM has plans to utilize Omega or Alpha-L as a merger of the Impala and departed SS.
  13. Problem is that most of these sites these days are not populated by ENTHUSIASTS like what U and I see as such. 70% of the guys U speak with are the equivalent of Clark Griswald (National Lampoons) and routinely take orders from their wives on what they should purchase. 90% of those probable don't even know what these are or are used for, let alone ever used either:
  14. Strong commentary on a shitty reality. I constantly smh seeing the crowded roads of sorry ass drivers pushing their CUVs. I currently drive some of the best handling sedans in the world with the Impala and CTS... and I will certainly give GM props at their strong levels of handling prowess in even my Yukon.. but there really is no comparison in reality vs the sedans and sports coupes. The comment by Cubical in relation to SPACE is a BS.. and I agree completely that not many will truly use the space in an Impala huge trunk to its capacity on a daily basis. Hell.. I recently put a 60 inch TV in the trunk of mine, albeit I had to lay the back seats down, but it fit much to even my surprise. Upon picking it up from Best Buy.. I said to the salesperson.. I might have to run home and get my Yukon.. he said "what are U driving..." I said "a 14 Impala.." He says.. " my mom has one.. the trunk in that thing is huge.. we can try." To my surprise the width of the trunk accommodated it... and even before the seats were folded 60% of the thing was in. Had I brought my Yukon.. I still would have had to lay by back seats down to fit it.. so the convenience was null.
  15. Hold up.. I'm building Camaros and Mustangs.. and don't want the sliver of market share that the Accord Coupe (and once Altima Coupe) had??? BULLSHIT. Funny thing is I'm betting good money that a great deal of Altima coupe buyers bought a Ford or Chevy instead of the 370z in 2014 and filling rental car lots by the millions, as GM has gotten out of that market. FACT Yup.. that isn't because everyone who buys a Camry is buying it because its a "great car." The Camry is an anomaly for sure.. but if U call many buyers I kno referring to their Camry as "yeah.. that's my POS Camry over there" as great perception than something ain't right
  16. Said the same GOD DAMN THING by a GM/FORD/CHRYSLER/AMC exec 40-30 years ago... just vice-versa. and IT DID HAPPEN. The clock got reset back in 2005.. the gradual death of the BS perception that Japanese is better started fading around that time.
  17. From a coupe... to a 5 Door.. or a more expensive BMW or Audi...or.. just go from the Honda flagship to the compact.. just like that. Yeah that makes sense more than just buying a superior pony car for the same money and fuel economy.
  18. Yeah.. my niece.. who had a used Honda Accord Coupe as her first car.. got her first real job and decided that she wanted either a Camaro or a Challenger.. sucks to say that she was able to get a helluva deal on an R/T that she was unable to get on the SS.. Accord Coupe??? Never even considered it as in her words.. "I always should have had a V8." Both of your mindsets are old world 90s-2000s thinking. The rules no longer apply. Because of various fiascos with the Toyota/Honda/Nissan vehicles over the last few years.. and the improvement of the tech, capabilities and perception (not to mention marketing) Chevy(GM), Ford etc have had great conquest sales as of late.. That being said.. the Honda Accord COUPE of the last 10 years have really been just a sporty alternative to the Accord Coupe. No different than the Altima Coupe. PROPER MARKETING and Chevy and Ford (and Dodge) could easily win those sales and put plenty of ex-Accord Coupe owners in Camaros and Mustangs. The actually have competent V6 and 4Cyl Turbos now to directly correlate with what the Accord buyers once had. And no offense to U MOLTAR but I hope from that Cubical U aren't in the marketing or sales business.. cause I'd fire U on the spot if U told me that because some of my clients have been used to Dell supplying their Servers and workstations for years that there was no way my company could sell them on our custom built units. Shit.. I would have been out of business years ago.. instead of going on 20 years
  19. so @cubical-aka.. what's so funny about that suggestion?
  20. So basically what I'd like to see is those buyers of coupes migrate over to Chevy or Ford and get a Camaro or Mustang. Both companies should market to ex-Accord Coupe buyers. Considering how great both cars have become.. advanced well far ahead of anything Honda produces.. including most Acuras, this should be a no brainer
  21. Jeeeezus Christ.. Are U telling me that @smk4565 is boasting a 6 sec advantage on the ring by a car costing almost $100k more than the ZL1?
  22. don't forget the fact that it looks exactly like the S-Class, 'cept smaller.. Their ATP is only SLIGHTLY higher than Cadillac's.. despite selling more $100K cars than anyone else in the world... That son son.. is a fuckin problem.. GASP ON THAT MOFO
  23. I agree.. This is the interior of a 55 my friend/neighbor just picked up a few months ago. Look a the detail in the dash and U will see Chevy Bowties in the silver portion
