  1. First time ever hearing about this concept.. Wow.. really ahead of its time. The tech itself is just now showing up in many cars.
  2. I can't wait for the back peddling from the CUE haters
  3. Hence the reason why the industry hasn't just abandoned ICEs. I still believe that despite the Bolt's current success.. the Chevy Volt and CT6 PHEV are the better vehicles simply because of the current infrastructure issues. Gas stations are way more plentiful than EV charging.. not to mention a fill up to 400 miles is only 5 minutes, with a run inside for a Hoagie away. IMO.. GM would be smart to play that car too. Boost the EV range of the Volt, CT6, and what's coming... to say 100 miles.. and still have that gas tank sitting there for us slackers.
  4. True.. but the tech is rising by the day. The batteries are what they are right now.. but again we both kno that they are a way better than they were 3 years ago
  5. We both kno that stock prices can bottom out in a hurry.. especially when the entire company is a non-profit making entity that is full of debt and has production woes that could hurt it very soon. One good recall or serious issue with a singular product line.. (they only have three at this point) could kill them. $355 right now.. but a penny stock tomorrow. Drastic I kno.. but still investors are getting weary "Every month that passes without significant deliveries of the Model 3 will shine the lights on Tesla and force stockholders to check under the hood and they may be distressed to find a cash incineration engine," Yusko, whose firm manages $1.8 billion, wrote in an email. CNBC On another note.. what is the deal with the U.S. gov not pushing for the European jump on 350 KW charging stations? 190 miles of range in about 20 minutes is fantastic.
  6. 150A DC charger the Bolt goes to 100 miles range. which is easily enough if U are in a hurry.
  7. Bigger picture??? That's all I have done since I stated posting in this thread SLICK.. The post that got deleted was about Frogger's off-topic BS and insult of Cadillac owners. But in your words... What is the bigger picture? The way I see the bigger pic is the same was I saw it back on the Post from Monday at 11:32 AM. That Tesla's moment is possibly diminishing with every day that passes.. as the big boys gravitate towards an EV rich line-up. The Bolt.. a singularity at GM is currently eating away at Tesla's market share in one quick swoop.. and it just went country wide a few months ago... not to mention as someone else pointed out... it looks more "tree-hugger than hotrod." What happens when GM's ( or other OEs) experiment is over.. yielding them all the awards.. new conquest sales.. a stock price that has been strong since this new foray into future propulsion was announced.. and a new reputation for GREEN.. and they decide to implement all they have learned in from the Bolt/Volt into a regular looking Malibu, CT3, XT5, Tahoe or Silvy??? Tesla either goes the way of Tucker.. or is swallowed up like... Eagle.. or made into a subsid like Maserati for the name.
  8. My message got deleted and this drivel remains. Insane. The Bolt charges up to
  9. GM makes an EV car.. its the 2017 NA Car of the Year.. 2017 Green Car of the Year.. 2017 Motor Trend Car of the Year.. selling like hotcakes in terms of EVs. and the whole fuckin point of the thread is that the Model 3 IS NOT AVAILABLE This the type of poster that Googles his heart out to try and find negative shit.. yet still comes up short looking like a blatant shill hater.. GM has admitted to Autoblog that a number of it earliest Bolts have battery issues that could lead to "unexpected loss of propulsion." The good news is that only around one percent of the 10,000-or-so Bolts -- so, approximately 100 -- on the road are affected. -From Fuckin AUGUST
  10. and that was a big issue from the on-set. As I stated before.. by the time the Model 3 gets up and running.. Ford and GM will have already started building more "mainstream" looking EVs. Seriously..looking at the Model 3 is it really worth all the Hoopla? I'm talking about a vehicle that goes 220 miles on a charge for $35K or 310 miles for a WHOPPING $9K more.. and looks like an uglier version of the Lexus IS and Porsche Panamera mashed up together. I call on Chevy to convert its Malibu Hybrid into a complete EV.. so we can have a better looking Model 3 competitor
  11. exactly @dfelt. Real talk. When Tesla was the only game in town things were cool. Now the big boys are jumping on as we all knu they would. GM, Ford, Toyota, Nissan, Hyundai, Honda etc.. the question remains is WTF is FCA in all of this? Are they holding out for the niche of ICEs when all other makers are firmly planted in EV? This way of the future... GM just acquired Strobe for the LIDAR tech.. to augment and help its acquisition of Cruise Automation.
  12. Here is the real issue that Tesla needs to deal with: Despite the fact that they awakened a renewed interest in the long forgot EV car market.. (yes.. EVs were around in the beginning of automotive) in which at one point commanded about 30% of the U.S. market before the into of the mass produced Ford Model T and even more lethal to the cause.. GM inventing (thru Kettering) the electric/auto starter.. Tesla needs to realize that its WOW EFFECT is dissipating. In truth, the only thing that Tesla truly has going for it is that it currently has a captive market on 0-60 times and sportier styling. That's it. The Bolt actually is a better offering all around if for no other reason than it has CHEVY/GM as its backer. That's approx 200 dealerships to have your car serviced versus 3000. Add in the fact that in one go.. one go.. the Bolt has better range by economic standards versus it's closest competitor at Tesla in price... the Model 3 and a similar 0-60 jump. 6.3 vs 5.6. Back to the WOW effect.. at this point Chevy.. Ford.. Toyota.. are all toying with Tesla.. and if they truly wanted to could instantly SHUT THAT COMPANY DOWN in terms of market capability. GM just announced that it will be putting out another 20 in 5 years and 2 more in 18 months. Consider the possibilities. Looking at the Bolt numbers.. Volt numbers.. all GM would really have to do is produce a... Lacrosse... or Regal sized EV, with similar amenities and the Model S is put out to pasture. And really. Do U think that they don't already have a few running around with fake tailpipes tacked on to fool the paparazzi?
  13. Finally got her back from the Body/Paint shop. Same color.. but new.. Photo Shoot today before the car show
  14. No I didn't.. even still I was very pleased with the acceleration as I had to come off the line to get in front of an Altima that was being driven slow. With respect.. the same thing could happen if U had only a few gallons of gas. Yes.. U could walk to the nearest gas station if U were close or call road side.. but U can kinda do the same thing with EVs by just calling AAA.
  15. The interior was very nice for what it is.. the car is not supposed to be a luxury vehicle.. in fact.. it may be against the ideals of many of its intended buyers. Personally.. I think Chevy got this one right.. as they got this gen Volt right as well. In other words.. they did their damn research and came up with a winner. My biggest gripe continues to be that this and Voltec is not available in every division in various configs. In truth, it TRULY is the way of the future. It is inescapable . Fossil fuel vehicles as a primary source of transportation will leave this country in a very inferior position in the next two decades.
  16. No. I have said it on several occasions the Model S' is not even remotely worth the $70K price tag. It really isn't even unique in its styling if compared to any other large car from Chevy.. Mazda.. Honda.. If the Bolt is $45K max.. the the Tesla S should be no more than $55K
  17. as so often is the case your dumbass is wrong No bitch.. sorry... I wasn't the first person to compare the two and I damn sure won't be the last. The interior was actually decent considering the tech.. and if U really think a Tesla has an interior worthy of a $70K car, then U really are one of the dumbest muthafuckas I've yet to see in this forum. To make it even worse.. I wasn't comparing the Tesla so much as referencing it since they are similar in their implementation of EV tech. From MT: LINK Materials are all price-appropriate and look pulled straight from the cool pages of the Ikea catalog. The ultra-thin front seats are nonetheless comfortable and supportive. The driver gets a reconfigurable high-res 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster, which does a good job at giving the driver only the information needed, such as speed, battery state of charge, range, and power usage, without overwhelming with extraneous information—like what exactly the powertrain is doing at any given moment.
  18. Had an opportunity to take a spin the Bolt yesterday.. this model stickers at $41K and was pretty loaded. The car is very nice. First thing that struck me was the space. Outside I saw what looked like a compact car.. or more appropriately an alternative design to my ex's Encore. Inside I was greeted with a very clean sheet design.. still Chevy/GM, but with Silicon Valley influence. The ride was another strong, positive point. While not "Tesla quick" this was ever bit as quick as my Impala. Compare that the Tesla Model S 60 pulls the sprint to 60 mph in 5 secs. This Bolt does it in 6.3. If this were a race.. a drag race... with pinks or pride on the line.. yeah.. it would be a lifetime, but in everyday life.. who gives a fuck.. especially when U saved about $30K. I won't even mention that the Bold is rated at 253 Miles on a charge while the Tesla is at 210.. and yes 234 if U pay an additional $9,000. Yeah the difference in looks is the exact difference in choosing a Malibu (yes.. I don't see the Tesla as any better looking than the Chevy midsizer) over a Trax, but it really depends on your mission. My mission in this situation would be to buy something better looking than a price-point competitor.. and this Bolt wins hands down versus the Leaf, Prius, i3, and Cmax. So quiet that they have to fake the noise. So smooth I had to relearn to drive. The only thing I had to deal with was getting used to the CAMERA mirror like I had to in the CT6 and XT5s I have driven. Great feature. And love the surround camera on the headset. I want one. This would be a great Daily Driver. 253 Miles and a 240-Volt/32-Amp Charging Unit cold charge it in 9 hrs (checked price at Home Depot.. $399.99) not to mention I have 3 charging stations ,that work 160 miles per hour, 2 miles from my house. Verdict. Hey GM... what the fuck is your problem? With this driveline.. and a simple directive.. U could put Tesla out of business. A Pick-up for GMC. A Sports car for Caddy. A Malibu all EV. A luxo coupe (Riviera) for Buick.. U would have this shit on LOCK. Add in the Volt, CT6 PHEV, and Malibu Hybrid.. and the skies the limit
  19. Yeah.. I kno.. but the styling of the Cas. is just so much more attractive.
  20. GM/Buick are IDIOTIC for not only not offering a hardtop of the Cascada and more power.. but not marketing it really at all. What a fantastic looking car.. and it drives very nice let me tell U. Definitely not a speed demon , but will do nicely against as a cruiser. The 1.6L Turbo should be upgraded to the 2.0L T from the Regal. This car would be just like that.. so much better IMO.. and look right at home sitting nect to the NEW Regal
  21. to the bolded part. So one lemon.. and it happens is indicative of a while truck line that has sold millions upon millions when the platform was alive? Ridiculous But then... their hummer at minimum is 8 years old. H2 stopped production in '09. If they've replaced their alternator TWICE.. the second part was faulty too.. and very seldom have I ever heard of anyone taking their vehicle to a dealership for a tranny rebuild.. so the tranny rebuild must have been bad. Missing how that is an H2 issue As far as me having the Camaro as a DD.. yeah.. it was my daily driver from August 2010 to July 31 2013 when I got my Impala DD. I don't kno if U kno but I had a Tahoe at the time before I got my Yukon.. If I needed to move anything larger I brought that. AND WHO THE FUCK GIVES A SHIT ABOUT MOVING BIG SHIT ON A DAILY BASIS AND THEN BUYS A CAR IN THE FIRST PLACE? Camaro, Mustang, Camry, or even an Impala?
  22. take a used H3, Jeep, or RR over it as well
  23. Yet every H2 owner I kno has zero issues with their vehicles... Why??? Because like the GMT800 it's based on it is a relatively straight forward design that U will still see in droves on the road even 19 years after its intro.. millions. U ARE FULL OF SHIT
  24. Was this even serious? I lived with my 2011 Camaro DD for 3.5 years and not once was I ever let down in terms of ride or storage. The current model has an exemplary ride.. is comfy.. and has enough storage for any daily driver. WTF are U trying to move around.. a grand father clock??? Ridiculous.. U bitch about irrelevant shit. The real question is WHY THE FUCK... does this imaginary GF of yours drive a Gwagon instead of something more practical with U around being a Dweeb about everything? That's exactly what he does
  25. The pics were from Drew.. but they are for real nonetheless. Also.. who the hell has not driven a Gwagon? They aren't exactly exclusive in my realm. In fact.. when my brother bought his Hummer H2 he also looked at the GWagon.. him and I drove it around for an entire day.. trying to figure out why anyone would buy that shit. So U are applauding the fact that they duped your girl friend into buying one huh? Great BF U are... In fact.. I find it hard to believe that U have a GF.
