  1. Check out the Carbon Fiber mod I did around the Tails.. I tinted them as well.
  2. "Widow Jane" My NEW... used.. 2016 Corvette Z06 3LZ M7. Pics will come up on Thursday or Friday as the sun will be out.. and all this rain will be gone. Windows already tinted.. including windshield. A Special Carbon Fiber mod I did on the tail bezels..
  3. Thanks. Another vote for the Used.. lol.. Yeah.. and regular maintenance is something I never thought about. I'd imagine Ceramic rotors are very expensive as a regular maintenance item I will. I could actually do that now.. but gotta get to work.
  4. Another used vote. Yeah.. tracking one.. maybe twice per year.. if the time allows is a definite.. but not in the way the Ceramics would give me an edge. $8,000 option BTW. The Used one + a extended warranty free or otherwise seems more logical Also.. yeah the CT6 V-Sport in year two might be an a real thing.. but I say year two because the Escala has also been green-lit.. and hoping that JDN's leaving doesn't kill any future products. I love my CTS-V, but the VSport is a sure winner for me because of the extra space, luxury and lack of time to really utilize the CTS-V the way it could be. Thanks dfelt
  5. Olds.. based on your words about tracking.. that's one for the "buy used" argument I have in my head.
  6. Tomorrow I will be trading in Sasha.. my 2014 Stingray Z51 for one of two Z06s I've been looking at. Both are immaculate. One is new and one is used. The Used one is a '16 Corvette Z06 3LZ Z07 package 7speed (with a MGW short throw shifter) with everything except.. Ceramic rotors, Suede steering wheel and shifter and Competition seats. Price negotiated from $73K to 68K. It has 10K miles on the odo and drives awesome, no issues in literally 15 miles of driving the other day the NEW one is 2018 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 2LZ Z07 Package 8Speed Auto.. MSRP is $107K but due to various reasons I have it down to $90,000. It has the Ceramic brakes, Comp Seats, Suede steering wheel shifter (like my V), and Carbon fiber dash 5/60K warranty We are talking a $22K difference for a car that I'll probably drive 4K per year and track maybe once a year due to schedule. Warranty is currently 4 months left on Bumper to Bumper and 2 years and 4 months on Powertrain. I would of course negotiate an extended thru GM Warranty. Even if I had to pay for an extended $1900 for the plan.. its still $20,100 less than the new Z06 What do y'all think? Here are the cars (One inside is the new one):
  7. Love the looks.. Love the tail lights.. its a about time for a lil change. Love the powertrain for what it is (What it is will be a vehicle for the segment.. not an enthusiast like me) Only complaint is that they caved to the knob heads and brought back a knob when I loved touch of the CUE system so much.. if for no other reason that I am more intelligent than most Perspective.. to those talking about size.. We must remember that Cadillac is going back to its TWEENER strategy in the coming years in some categories to accommodate various customers.. and this is Length X3 is 186 inched long X1 is 176 inched long XT4 is 181 inched long Price Point ($35,790) is that this starts off at X1 ($33,900) prices.. but has a size more in line with the X3 ($42,650) That being said. remember that the X3 is longer in the FRONT.. because of engine placement not because it is actually larger in usable people space. What I often felt was weird before the actual debut.. was that people bitched about the engine HP.. which now seen in perspective seems again like people loving to bitch about nothin. I looked at the HP of the competitors.. and it has to be noted that the Q3, for instance has a 200 hp engine.. the NX starts with a 195hp .. GLA.. a 208 hp engine.. X1.. 228HP.. this thing has a 237HP 2.0L with torque that comes and stays.. from 1000rpm. That my friends is a stout package if weight is where it should be. Remember the 0-60 of the X1 with a 228 hp engine is 6.3.. hell a Terrain with the 252hp 2.0L is 6.8.. but its torque and power come in at 2000rpm. I have a feeling that this will match a X1 or beat it
  8. No.. I think they care about PROFIT.. and Buick.. even in China, with Chinese rules.. is one of the most profitable makes on the road son son.. U like to go on sales numbers for these cars, but fail to see the big picture.
  9. I always love how he pits Benz /Audi sales numbers in China against Cadillac's with no mention that Mercedes/Audi are also competing with Buick in China
  10. Still blows my mind that the ct6 is larger on Omega, yet still only 5lbs heavier. GREAT ENGINEERING
  11. I see both of U as correct.. but I also throw that same logic over at the 5 Series and 7 Series... They are even on the same platform.. as the CT6 and CT5 will most likely be soon. How much U wanna bet that the legroom between the CT5 and CT6 ends up similar as well.. with the exterior dimensions being the true differentiation? I can see the CT6 as a 6 Series type vehicle once 2020 hits.. and the intro of the Escala (CT8) which got the green-light CT3, ATS replacement with ATS-L dimensions.. CT5 current exterior dimensions of CTS but interior sized similar in the rear like the , CT6, and then CT8 in 2020 ATS no.. CTS U are smokin the same crack they are. The ironic part about the Chevy comment is that in truth.. many of Benz's interiors are pretty much on par with the mainstream brand, I'd say on the same level as the LaX and Enclave if U really want to shore it up. U are truly a fanboi if U can't see that. The new E-Class' interior is nothing great at all..
  12. Who gives a damn if they lie about their HP rating... I've gone up against last gen E63 and M5/6 with my last gen Vs and WON.. I've gone up against current M5 (not the AWD one) and E63AMG and WON.. Maybe I just learned to launch.. and realized that putting 38lbs of air in my tires was ridiculous.. but I did. Cadillac interiors are on par with Benz, except in the S-Class vs CT6.. which beats it slightly.. by maybe 10%, not 50.. but alas.. one looks at the price difference and see's the reason. OH!!! Cadillac should sell for less.. but spend more on its interior??? Makes sense Oh.. and EFF the backseat in any car.. eff I care about people riding in the back.. but in this case.. the CT6 has pretty generous seat space And I wasn't comparing the M5 to the CT6 VSport.. my point of bringing it up was the inclusion of AWD and the comparable (probable) similar weights. Not to mention the HP/Torque ratings.
  13. Coupla things with that.. the current CTS-V has power that can be used.. it just takes proper launching tactics.. once in flight.. the power remains from the endless torque and hp avail. The Audis U mentioned have always been AWD.. for the sake of VW dwindling platforms. The E63AMG just got AWD a few years ago.. The GM AWD system that came out with the CT6 debuted in 2015 with capabilities of handling up to.. if I remember.. 950ft-lbs of torque. answer Drew's fuckin questions!!!
  14. I've seen Vseries numbers lower than that at other publications and so have U. But cherry picking to fit your hate seems to be your natural trait. Either way.. AWD is the reason for the advantage that the M5 has in out accelerating the V. The CT6 addresses this.. I can attest that launching my 640hp beast on the fly is a chore unless launch control is perfectly engaged. Furthermore I will tell U that U are crazy if U think the CTS-V is gonna hit the market without AWD and a nice Milford beat down of the M5 and E63Amg before hitting the market. I wouldn't be surprised if the CT6 out accelerates both the new M5 and CTS-V with this system coupled with the 10speed
  15. First and foremost.. I told Y'all this was coming. I was told the engine was a 4.5L but this is even better considering the HP/L ratio. This engine is in no way the one that is going in the upcoming Vette from what I also hear. Second.. This car will likely be my trade to the CTS-V I currently know and love. 550HP/627ft-lb of torque.. in AWD and SuperCruise.. in a larger, lighter body is right what I want going forward into my 47th year. Lack of a V8 has been my hold back all along with the CT6.. getting 2 variation sis sweet.. but the top engine will be my choice. Interesting enough.. I am surprised that the 500HP version isn't the VSport and the 550HP version a VSeries. Perhaps there is something else coming.. altho I believe a higher HP version of the engine tech will be in the CT8 (Escala) which was given the green light for 2020-1. To the possibilities of performance.. here we go.. A larger CT6 3.0L Platinum comes in at 4,385 lbs One has to wonder if they were able to keep weight in check.. and also.. what does this mean.. either way in terms of acceleration considering the CT6 VSport with have 50 less HP (which I bet will change + by 2019) , but 74 more ft-lb in torque. I think the CT6 VSport may just pull similar acceleration numbers depending on mode and the gearing of the new 10 speed. Also about the FWD vs RWD.. back in 2009 over at GMI I wrote this about the then.. upcoming XTS and revised SRX:
  16. I heard the CT6 is much higher than the CTS.. for obvious reasons... around $70K
  17. The brand's average transaction price has risen 25 percent in the last five years to $54,488 per vehicle sold in 2017 — making it among the best in the luxury segment, which last year averaged $48,752, according to J.D. Power and Associates. Cadillac's pricing gains reflect in part a smaller volume base, coming amid a 14 percent decline in U.S. sales since 2013. Still, they offer some validation for the strategy espoused by brand President Johan de Nysschen, who has been steadfast in stressing the brand's global long-term health over near-term volume and market share gains in the U.S. A big element of that strategy is Project Pinnacle, a retail program intended to improve the brand by overhauling the retail network with restructured incentives and stricter performance requirements. MORE AT AUTONEWS Jesus. The CTS is seriously helping out. Gotta wonder what Caddy would be averaging if it had a more fleshed out upper line-up. The numbers for the CT6 are absent.. but best believe they are higher than the CTS's
  18. FWD based AWD performance is fine. It can be exhilarating as well. The slew of FWD only cars these days from everyone from GM, Ford, Honda, and Mazda could put a great deal of RWD vehicles on the truck with their handling.. Seriously. The recent Cruze RS I bought my daughter is one of the best handling cars I've ever driven. The new Malibu my GF has is an awesome handler.. the Ford Fusion a friend has is no slouch.. No AWD or RWD needed. What makes it even more important to note about a system like Acura's SH-AWD is that like so many other RWD biased systems.. it can send 100% of the power to one or more wheels based on the need.
  19. Exactly why I said I took a CTS-V over the E63. I wanna be able to drive my car at extreme limits and if necessary just put some snow tires on if Maryland gets a decent snow season for 2 days, yet still be able to drive at the limits when I want to for $20K less. Or.. like anyone else who has a CTS-V, E63AMG, M5/6, Lamborghini.. DRIVE THEIR SUV when it snows, because who in their right mind is out driving their $100K+ cars in ice and snow when they could afford a $100K+ car? I'll answer... about 3%.. because most who buy those cars don't even want to get rain on them let alone salt and fender bangers as a result of snow and ice
  20. I'm confident that Honda will employ this TT in AWD only. Why wouldn't they. Their AWD system currently employed is one of the best in the business
  21. Dfelt is spot on. Its been my observation and defense of the ATS since it hit the road. Cadillac gave enthusiasts the exact car they wanted.. problem was.. as I've said since I started posting on forums.. ENTHUSIASTS ARE THE WORST FUCKIN CUSTOMERS because they don't buy cars in the numbers needed to really sustain. Mercedes buyers are not enthusiasts. BMW drivers are quickly moving that direction as well. Point of fact.. look at the performance tests and comparos and tell me how the ATS, a car that is now 6 MYs old.. is second only to the Brand new Alfa Romeo in performance and handling? That's even with a new C-Class, Jag XE, upgrades to the 3series and IS.. and new A4. Furthermore the ATS was built for DRIVERS, not passengers. As always I say fuck the passenger.. they get what they get. BMW 3series owners apparently wanted a more family oriented car... the the current 3Series is more liken to Lexus than BMW. Go get in a 3series or new C-Class and U will see that the space for the driver is compromised for the sake of backseat occupants without seat adjustments, not be just the fore and aft.. but the ergonomic ups and downs as well. Measurements be damned.. the ATS is more comfy in the front.. than both the 3 and C. In the rear.. they have an edge.
  22. Their justification was that the XTS VSport has more power I bet. Which is fuckin nuts. The CT6 should have had a VSport powered with the 460HP LT1 from git. Even better would be a full range with a VSeries top end powered by the LT4. At $128K startin, undercuttin the S63AMG by $20K and beatin its HP by 40. I'd be at the Caddy dealership right now with a check
  23. I agree. The Cadillac model has the CTS and XTS literally on top of each other.. and then moving over to the CT6. I'm glad they are essentially merging.
  24. After remarking to me several times that she wanted a more sporty 4door compact car.. and was considering trading in her Equinox (Below) for a Cruze or Sonic (no shit), my 17 year old wanted to make a move. We started discussing logistics. College is coming up... and a few weeks ago my she was accepted and received several academic scholarship offers from various well known colleges both in and outside of MD. She pointed out to me that she still loved the previous Cruze because it was more bold.. and if she were to get a new one.. it would be a hatch. We test drove both.. used and new Cruzes, no Sonics.. because i deemed it too small. In the end she saved dad a bunch of money by picking this 2012 Cruze RS. We got a 3/36 warranty on the car.. as it has 58K miles on it, but was a one owner car, for $9K out the door (tax, tags, warranty incl). The Equinox now sits at 67K, with me putting most of the miles on it to be honest. I am keeping it and most likely will move it to summer house on the Eastern Shore The Cruze is fully loaded.. heated seats, sunroof, 1.4L, auto, RS Package, new tires, leather.. and I am waiting on new HID-ish headlight bulbs to come in from MostPlus. (if U need an HID conversion.. this is the company to go with.. as their system is as easy as changing a normal bulb and is as bright and white as any factory HID I've seen from Caddy to BMW to Audi)
  25. One doesn't have to use sales numbers.. the idea that MOST Ferrari owners wouldn't put a Chevy engine in their vehicle is simply one of authenticity.. as one would hope.. when buying and restoring certain high end vehicles.. something that has an equivalent today of $200K+, even if being from the past, would at least be worthy of a true engine restore. Even in Corvettes.. U don't see anyone trying to put a CHEVY 305 in it.. cause that would be deplorable. Of course.. some get TIRED of the BULLSHIT maintenance that is owning a world class POS that requires massive dollars to just maintain for an occasional 200 miles a year ride.. so they put some American BIG DICK.. in a lil Bitch of an Ital :
