  1. I read this slightly different.. as I though the plan all along was to consolidate plants.. It makes zero sense to kill the Cruze, Volt, and CT6.. and still continue making the Spark and Sonic.. unless what is going on is these products are simply being moved. Product is shifting.. these non-enthusiastic drivers LOVE CUVs.. hence Ford's exodus from the car market.. but we have a CT3 and CT5 on the way.. the death of the XTS means without the CT6 after 2020... what's going to happen? MY guess.. on that note would be that someone got the message that if U are going to directly compete with the other lux brands.. it makes no sense to have a CT3, CT5, CT6.. and then intro a CT7. Could it be that the CT6, a vehicle that was misnamed in the first place.. will simply morph into a CT7 ? I'm an optimist tho.. something that is not looked upon in high regard when it comes to GM
  2. I love it but was, a few months back, ready to throw her out and slip a 454 or 496 crate in there. The 396 was getting hot.. and after I broke her down I found that several pushrods were bent and the valve springs associated with them were broke.. anyway.. crate motor was about $7-10K.. where as fixing was about $200.. so I went with the fix.. and then another $400 on the carb. So overall $600 bucks and about 4 days total due to me having to work and do it when I got home.. she purs now.. My next thing might be this C10 ... was considering a H3T if I could find one tho. C10s are moving up high in price these days
  3. Thanks.. 396
  4. Its really weird for them to come out and pretty much say EFF what the EPA says.. because for a looooong time I've been saying the exact same thing because of how I drive. Fuel economy is a direct result of the vehicle's overall efficiency AND.. and this is HUGE.. the driver's driving style.. Take a driver like me and put me in a Chevy Volt or Prius .. expecting great fuel economy and U will be very disappointed. I DRIVE!!! and that's not some bull$h! BMW interface either. I used laugh my ass off when people would say the Corvette was a very efficient vehicle to drive daily.. I was like "shiiiiiiiid.. not if U out here doing 0-60 in 3.6secs.. or constantly in the 90-110 range" On REAL.. I have driven my Yukon and seen 21mpg over a full tank interval... , but that was driving it like an old woman in mixed driving.. and for the NEXT trip I drove like I DRIVE.. and that fuel economy was like 15-16 mpg. (Mind U I tuned out the V4 mode when I bought it so its always in V8)
  5. Thelma.. for your listening pleasure.. just put a new 750cfm carb on her.. flowing nicely IG @ drink.eat.cars
  6. As stated the Alpha was a 5.3L V8.. same as the one that was in my previous Tahoe.. and yes.. I would love one just like the one pictured above in gray.. except I'd probably want Black or dark blue. I drove a few H3s, never an H3T, but I can tell U.. no matter where I went.. I never feared being stuck LOL. one time purposely going into a muddy mess of a field on the Easter Shore of MD, finger hovering next to the roadside/onstar button, only to come out f it as if I were on flat dry pavement. GM was a FOOL to kill that brand and not simply realign its products and future products with GMC or Chevy.
  7. Much Luv bro... The minute that I sought out that pic of the H3T.. I started to wonder where and when I should pick up a used one.. thing is the closest H3T in my area selling used is almost 300 miles away.. and still sitting at around $30K .. the regular H3 might be a closer option as I am seeing them for about $12-19K based on miles. For me.. it would be a fun run around off-road vehicle. The only thing I would consider changing is seeing if a V8 could go in one cheaply.. if an Alpha could not be found
  8. This is one of the greatest examples where GM misses opportunities to in killing off niche products. The Avalanche.. the CT6-PHEV.. the a convertible that is not a Vette or Camaro.. Hummer.., but especially the Hummer H3T. This Jeep and the aforementioned H3T look almost identical.. furthermore the H3T and H3 was regarded, when it was out, as one of the best off-road vehicles ever. WTF... GM just doesn't fit GMC with a few Hummer H3/H4 models is beyond me.. and in truth.. they wouldn't even have to do anything different in styling from those vehicles despite a decade being gone.. and people would buy them.
  9. IRS comes to the Escalade next gen.. to answer a question that no buyer of a $100K+ SUV ever asked as they were picking up their latte from Starbucks or the delicate flower of a woman they chose to f@#k around on.. The most off-road these vehicles see is when the blacktop covered roads of this great country get blanketed with snow.. My Yukon, along with its sisters and cross town cousin from Ford have no problem with that. If GM wanted to beat all of the other SUVs at OFF-ROAD.. they really wouldn't have to go far to do it. Hell.. the ZR2 Colorado is a beast.. and from what I'm hearing.. who knows.. they may create an SUV off this
  10. LIke the Bolt (and Volt) this has remote start to probably get the car warm inside etc.. the retractable roof button like the Vette.. the hatch button and what might be a power hood or additional storage button. This could be EXACTLY what GM should be doing with a car like this to spread and amortize costs faster.. like VW Group does with the R8, Gallardo/Huracan and Italdesign Zerouno. Only having the C8 as the sole vehicle, especially considering the FE C7 is supposed to live on will be a profit disaster. Not to mention Cadillac needs this more than Chevy does
  11. True.. but the Volt has something that the Model 3 doesn't have.. an ALTERNATIVE propulsion system that is easy to re-invigorate within about 3 minutes. And make no mistake I have said the same thing about the Bolt. Personally I am not on board with complete EV line-ups until the infrastructure to "fill-up" is in place everywhere a gas station is or at least as many. Range anxiety is real if for no other reason than some people simply forget. With the petrol situation its as easy as grabbing a damn jug.. hell a 2 liter coke bottle, walking 2 miles and filling it up with enough to get U to the next fill.. far as I know.. they don't make 2 mile long extension cords.. ? I stand by this even if Caddy decides that EV cars are a go. I think its a mistake to not keep a CT6 Plugin on the menu.. as much as I think Chevy should've long since expanded the VOLTEC fleet
  12. Interesting.. research shows the space internal isn't that far off Interior Volt Model 3 Maximum Seating 5 seats 5 seats Front Legroom 42.1 in 42.7 in Back Legroom 34.7 in 35.2 in
  13. Not true.. the Volt is 3.3 inches shorter than the Cruze but is almost identical in wheelbase, and actually wider than the Cruze
  14. The Volt is the Cruze.. so for almost 60 miles... the option is there
  15. Lexus RX + LX sales = 83,298 Cadillac XT5 + Escalade sales =74,282 Mercedes GLE + GLS =49, 022 Cadillac adding a GX competitor (XT6) and a NX Competitor (XT4) will most likely see them doubles sales of CUVs, equaling that of Lexus.. confirming what I've been saying all along.. U can't win a sales race with not enough product. Cadillac should MIRROR Chevy in terms of available configs IMO, just as a luxury brand, and except the pick-ups. Still bewilders me who Chevy has an EV, a Plug-In, two convertibles, two coupes, and Caddy has no EV, one Plug-in, no converts and one coupe.
  16. Noted.. I am absent these days far too often to know everyone's quirks like I did at MT and GMI. I will say that U.. U.. I remember making a similar argument about the backseat space in an ATS tho.. When the CTS sat on the lot right next to it. U did the same thing with the Malibu pre-redo with the Impala and SS sitting right on the lot too.
  17. Actually. considering the absolute FACT that the Escalade is the go to luxury SUV, and the XT5 is I believe the #2 selling mid-size Luxury CUV.. despite the rhetoric that some try and kick.. Cadillac is really not bad off at all in CUV/SUV sales. Introducing the more up to date, until 2020, XT4 to tack ANOTHER demo.. because size matters.. was ALWAYS a no-brainer, and road to higher brand sales. Furthermore.. its not like Cadillac doesn't have the alternative sizes. If the XT4 is too small for these fat ass Americans U speak of.. then LO AND BEHOLD.. there is an XT5 or Escalade.. or upcoming XT6? So if your tall ass needs a larger back seat than the XT4, and EVERYONE of its competitors can offer your huge ass.. buy the larger fuckin vehicle sitting on the lot. I have yet to hear this lunacy over at Buick, GMC, or Chevy happening when some one is trying to buy a sized product. No sales man worth a grain a shit has a customer come in.. get into a Terrain.. say they need something larger.. and he doesn't show them the TWO.. count 'em two Acadias or a Yukon
  18. No doubt.. I thought the same thing back in '08 when she was in the Dark Knight. Its those big ass floppy eyes.. her and her crazy looking brother
  19. I joke with U not.. she is gorgeous.. perfect, no matter what age she is. If she is GenX.. I will point out yet another time that my Generation is the youngest looking generation above 35 I've ever seen. Baby Boomers and Greatest Gens looked 50 even when they were 20 LOL... Hell.. there is this chick on James Franco's HBO "The Deuce" who plays an 22 year old... and she's fuckin 40. At one point I was watching the show just to see here LOL.. now I watch it cause its an absolutely great show
  20. the 2.0L thing is a strong vote.. and I still keep seeing things about it being coupled to a EV motor for more power and efficiency. They are apparently working on that for even the Camaro as well. To the $5 door handles.. whatever the situation was.. the door handles on the CTS, CT6, Escalade, XT5, XTS.. are fuckin sweet. The cool factor is evident every time I unlock my ride and people swoon around that basic shit like "How did they do that?" Too Bad I may be without a Cadillac for about a year.. as I see the intro of the CT5 as a reason why my CTS-V value will drop and I'm considering selling it within a few months. That being said.. my next Caddy will probably be the CT6-V around end of the summer of '19.. and when I hit 150K miles on the Yukon,.. the 2020 or 2021 Escalade
  21. Yes... the goal for all of GM is to consolidate platforms as well as powertrains to work thru out. With Cadillac the profit is there to justify the cost
  22. Well.. I can tell U that after having an XT5 for 2 days last week it runs very well with the 310HP 3.6L, but.. had it been packing the 3.0L TT or 3.6L TT I would have been all grins. That being said.. if the XT4 has the 4 Turbo in it.. I would like it to be the 2.7L or an EV coupled 2.0L. If Cadillac does see it as cool.. and goes with a TT V6.. who's gonna be upset? My issue with Cadillac in general is that the only REAL all encompassing engine line up resides in the CTS and now CT6.. the rest of the line up is simply incomplete. Think about it... CT6 has 2.0L 270HP; 3.6L 335hp; 3.60LTT 404hp; 4.2LTT 550HP; Hybrid that is a PERFECT engine line-up.. CTS has 2.0L 270HP; 3.6L 335hp; 3.6LTT 420hp; 6.2LSC 640hp.. that is a PERFECT engine line-up.. only missing the hybrid or EV ATS had a nice line up.. with exception to the buyer not being able to opt for a LT1 V8 instead of the LF4 TTV6. Why can't these be the choices avail for all of their vehicles. Even the Escalade in some capacity, not necessarily these particular engines?
  23. What if that high output 4 is the 2.7L Turbo with 310hp/350lb of trque? Personally I think that's enough.. especially if the goal is to contend with the Germans.. including the Macan. Even better would be what I've read to be a possibility.. an EV coupled to that engine or 2.0L. Instant torque.
  24. I seriously don;t understand what U are saying. We are in Q4... are U suggesting that the XT4 will sell more than the XT5 in a matter of 2 months? Either way.,.. I'd expect that its numbers would run similar by proportion to the RDX vs MDX or GLC vs GLE
  25. WHAT IS SHE GLARING AT.. and WHY??? I can't believe I'm the first to comment on the fact that these BULLSHIT commercials make me want to hurl. Is luxury really about just be STRAIGHT FACED and STARK??? YUCK!!! Its like what has society gone to? FUCK THESE PEOPLE!!! It's almost as bad as the Verizon commercial with the guy walking his dog and he keeps asking .."Is this a test?" to the other weaker looking male. or every GOD DAMN Subaru commercial that pulls on the heart strings of society.. except this is like Gattaca.. which was a great concept of a movie, and the art direction was stunning.. but it shouldn't be emulated in real life. BTW.. despite Cadillac coming out with the XT6.. the Escalade (Navigator, LX470, GL and Denali) is this X7's direct competitor. That is literally why BMW finally, after 10 years of talking about it.. came to the market with it.
